BUYER BEWARE - Veterans Fence! One of the Worst Contractor Experiences We Have Ever Had!…read more I cannot express how disappointed and frustrated we are with this company. What started as a straightforward railing installation has turned into an absolute nightmare. We paid $13,000 through Zelle, received the wrong product, experienced what we believe was improper installation, and have been left with an unfinished project and no acceptable resolution. Here's what happened: From day one, there were red flags. The company told us there was no need to come out and measure in person. They initially quoted us a price significantly lower than other contractors. However, when I specifically asked whether we would be receiving the exact same railing we had requested, the price suddenly increased to approximately $16,000. We were assured we would receive the railing we wanted. They then required us to pay $13,000 through Zelle rather than a credit card. Looking back, I deeply regret agreeing to that payment method because we lost the protection a credit card dispute might have provided. The railing arrived, and it was NOTHING like what we had agreed upon. On the first installation day, their crew spent essentially the entire day realizing they did not have the correct railing or the proper materials to install it. We were initially told the incorrect railing would be shipped back. Instead, they decided to attempt a makeshift solution using materials purchased from Home Depot. On their second visit, they spent approximately half the day purchasing additional supplies to make the incorrect railing work. The result was terrible. In our opinion, the installation was completely unacceptable, and we have serious concerns about whether it would even meet building code requirements. The most unbelievable part? They wanted MORE MONEY! Despite completing less than one-fourth of the project, they demanded the remaining contract balance PLUS additional charges, including: * Another $3,000 in labor * Charges for additional materials purchased at Home Depot to make their incorrect railing work * An additional 19 feet of railing resulting from what we believe were their own measurement and installation errors They expected us to pay for their mistakes while insisting we continue with a product that was never what we ordered! We estimate that at least $10,000 worth of materials remained unused, yet we were offered no acceptable refund or way to recover that money. We were essentially left with two unacceptable choices: allow them to continue installing the wrong railing, using methods we had already lost confidence in, while paying additional money, or stop the project and risk losing the $13,000 we had already paid. We chose not to allow them to continue making the situation worse. What makes this especially disappointing is that the company promotes itself as a veteran-associated business. We wanted to support a company representing veterans and expected professionalism, honesty, and accountability. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. PLEASE DO NOT LET FIVE-STAR REVIEWS BE YOUR ONLY DECIDING FACTOR. Before hiring this company, I strongly recommend that you: * Insist on accurate, in-person measurements. * Get written confirmation of the exact materials and railing design. * Verify licensing, insurance, and code compliance. * Never pay such a large deposit through Zelle without understanding the risks. * Use a credit card whenever possible for additional payment protection. * Carefully review the company's history and complaint record. We have serious concerns about our ability to recover our money, and at this point, we have not received an acceptable resolution. Below are pictures showing exactly what we requested versus what we actually received. The difference speaks for itself. We trusted this company with a significant amount of money and expected the job to be done correctly. Instead, we were left with the wrong railing, an unfinished project, additional payment demands, and thousands of dollars at risk. I would never recommend Veterans Fence based on our experience. Please do your homework before trusting this company with your money. BUYER BEWARE.

Hilario's Lawn Maintenance

Hilario's Lawn Maintenance

Finally. I finally found someone that knows what they are…read moredoing in the yard. After 6 years and 3 landscaper nightmares, I'm done. I have asked landscapers in the past to put down mulch, most of the time I wind up doing it myself. I ask that they trim occasionally. Again, I usually do it myself. I understand that they have to move quickly to survive but I do get tired of the "blow and go" every week. We go north in the summer so it's hard to know if someone is doing a good job in the yard or not. Fortunately, I have wonderful neighbors who will call me and tell me if my yard starts looking bad. It's important that the house looks like it is being taken care and occupied when we are not there. I came back this year, the lawn was mowed but the trees and bushes had not been trimmed since we left. I asked the landscaper about it and he told me that he was able to trim the Pygmy Palm in the back. Really. Four months and you were able to trim one whole palm. Thanks for nothing. That was it for him. My neighbor and I were talking a few days later and I asked him who did his lawn because it always looks good. He told me his person was coming that afternoon and did I want to talk to him. I said yes thankfully. Hilario presents himself very professionally. We walked around the yard and I told him my concerns in the yard. Told him about my poor experiences in the past with landscapers. He understood. He gave me a price and I hired him.. He did a cleanup first. Six people for 6 hours. He filled a 18 foot truck with debris and trimmings. His people are well trained and know what they are doing. They needed little or no supervision from Hilario. It was a pleasure to watch. No mistake, no hesitation, just productive work. It looks like a different yard with all that gone. I asked Hilario to put down mulch when he had time. The next week, he put down 160 bags. No waiting. No wondering when it will be done. And,It looks fantastic. Looks like a different yard. I am actually proud of how my yard looks now. All due to Hilario and his men. I recommend him highly.
