Several of her family members and her five (5!) children. It is a beautiful place, well laid out, plenty of parking, gorgeous views and dedicated to all veterans, so a special meaning for me as a veteran. With beautiful, covered areas for grilling and eating, lots of paths for walking, jogging, and dog walking. A huge playground for children, which made for hours of fun for the kids. Plenty of parking all around the lake. A nice dock for feeding the ducks and fish, not sure if they allow fishing or not. A nice workout area with lots of different exercise equipment. Plenty of war memorials for veterans and families of veterans. Several areas of names of local veterans that served. And really nice and clean restrooms for after a couple bottles of water. Most impressive though was the placement of a combat jet lifted high in the air. A beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable park nestled right off a main road. Just watch the GPS carefully, it's a small road leading in. We missed it but the jet caught our attention and we turned about.

They have a doggie fountain and a doggie doodie station with bags. There is a bench next to the fountain in the holding area, I wish there was one in the actual park. Separate large and small dog areas, water fountains in each, and shower hose in small dog area. In the large dog area there is a path around the perimeter for people and dogs who like more of a hike/stroll, and there is large open areas in the middle for dogs who like to play. The people and dogs who go to this park seem more tolerant and okay with the dogs playing on the slightly more rough side (not aggressively, but i mean like wrestling, softer playful bites, and chasing each other in a mutually playful non aggressive manner). If your dog likes to play i would recommend this park.

The bad stuff- a lot of people that go here do not clean up after their dog. There was lots of dog poop all over the ground. The trash also does not get changed regularly and stunk pretty bad. Besides the off-leash dog parks there was playground equipment, picnic shelters, and biking-walking-jogging trails all around the lake and into the surrounding tree-filled area. The playground has two different play areas a toddler play area and older kids area. My kids really enjoyed playing on this playground because it's not your typical playground equipment. The league was well organized and had a great communication cadence. You essentially get guaranteed court play for 45 minutes each week. The price is hard to beat at $30 a team per season. The highlight of this event park is the paved trail around it…read more Okay that's anti climactic and silly considering this park boasts every amenity (and then some) a park could have. There's a play ground, a rec center, restrooms, courts, tons of parking, fields. You name it-it's got it. The park even has pools! I personally really appreciate that the paved trail is smooth enough to rollerblade. And that's why it's the highlight for me. This park is a full afternoon of socially distant adventures. I'm so grateful for how well maintained it is. The St. Pete Parks and Rec team deserves so many kudos.
