I can remember on one visit when I was 19, we stumbled on a vendor that didn't realize what he had, it was a 20 year old authentic bubblegum pink Kelly (Hermes) and he had it priced under $1000. I still to this day regret not buying it for resale alone (bubblegum pink is not for me lol)

And with a surprisingly accessible atmosphere at odds with the sometimes rarefied world of antiques and vintage, Alfie's is perfect for a browse for the expert and neophyte alike. I visited Alfie's just before Christmas last year and spotted cute as a button Mark Owen from Take That looking incredibly dapper. This is the place for vintage/antique fans to find unique Christmas presents without recourse to the high street.

The jewelry were bright and bold and evoke such Betsey Johnson vibes except with an emphasis on acrylic as their creative medium. We entered the store and oh my goodness everything was so eye catching - both in terms of designs as well as color palette. If you're a gal (or guy) who loves subdue understated jewelry this isn't the shop for you, as everything is extremely playful and witty. There were multiple items I wanted to purchase; however, the pricepoint is much higher than what I am use to; yet, you can think of it as paying for the design, and the fact that it's handmade by UK individuals. The smaller designs range in the £50 - £150 whereas the really stunning statement pieces around £200-£400. The extremely orange pieces can go up to £500+ I ended up getting a really beautiful blue parrot statement necklace that I'm sure would be a head turner. Can't wait to see more of their beautiful collection!

When there in early June, it has everything from new mugs to vintage glass bottles to old road signs to bigger trunks and furniture-like items. For printing, it seemed to be mid-range. Some of the vintage bottles were in the ballpark of £10-12, mid-sized trunks and other vintage items were £50-100 (depending on what it was), while some more noteworthy items were several hundred pounds. I definitely recommend taking a look if you like vintage items since its a bit of a treasure trove.

Excellent customer service from the associate whom I did not get his name. He gave recommendations and suggestions on what types of tie designs (stripes vs dots) would be a good match for what types of shirts. While he recommended his favorite designs, there was no pressure at all from him. My personal favorites from the selection also turned out to be his favorite recommendations :) Gentlemen, if you're into good shoes....Paul Smith also has frequent collaborations with reputable and solid British shoemakers. Some time back, they partnered with Crockett & Jones. Currently, some of their shoes are partnered with John Lobb, also another distinguished British shoemaker. Trivia: Crockett & Jones and John Lobb designed and made shoes for James Bond. For those who don't live in the UK, Paul Smith participates in VAT refund (tax refund). So when you're making your payment, be sure to ask for the VAT refund form. They'll fill in the form and hand it to you. When you leave the UK, present the VAT refund form at the airport to get back the portion of tax you paid on your purchase.

Shady shopkeeper…read more I found a brooch of a rose that I really liked on a dress that was about a foot taller than I was, and asked the woman if I could just purchase the brooch without the dress. She was hesitant, and tried to charge me £18 for it, rather than £12 "Just because I hate to separate it from the dress!" Eventually, as I was getting ready to leave, she goes, "If it makes it easier, I can sell it to you for £12 because that's how much the rest cost!" Gee, THANKS. I then asked how old she suspected the brooch was and she said "oh probably about 1950s, since it came from that dress and thats how old the dress was." I was a bit skeptical, but didn't argue since she'd already put the dress back across the room, and I figured she'd looked at it. About 20 seconds after I left the store, curiousity turned me around and I went back in to check the dress tag anyway. It said 1936. The woman was looking at me, so I explained that I had been curious and wanted to double-check. She goes, from across the room "Oh yeah, it Did say 1930's!" Really? Then why would you tell me it was 20 years older? Weird, really... The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the store did have a decent selection of scarves and pins. I had to eat these words before they even came out of my mouth. Vintage Heaven does live up to its name by being not only very competitively priced but also stocked to the brim with goodies. They even have bloomers and although some people might draw the line at second hand pants, I say if you're going to do it, do it right. You could actually get an entire outfit here from bloomers to coat and hat for under £100 although you might be put off trying it on in their skanky cupboard of a fitting room. Despite that little inconvenience, I have to say, I am rather impressed and this shop might even make it possible on a rainy day to knock off walking all the way down Cheshire Street to Beyond Retro.
