Found this hidden gem in Las Vegas on Facebook and finally decided to check it out with the family. We went on a Sunday around 1 PM after church, and while we still had a great time, it was definitely HOT outside. I would highly recommend visiting during cooler weather or earlier in the day so you can enjoy it longer without the heat draining you. The farm itself is a little hidden away, but they do have signs posted for parking, which made it easier to find once we got close. One thing I really liked is that admission is completely free, although they do have a donation box at the entrance if you'd like to support the farm and the animals. There were quite a few animals to see including horses, donkeys, goats, ducks, and pigs. The highlight for us was feeding the animals. Make sure you buy a bag of carrots because the animals definitely know visitors come with treats and they'll come right up to you expecting snacks. The goats especially were very eager and entertaining for the kids. I also noticed they host events here and offer pony and horse rides, which would be really fun for birthday parties or family gatherings. Even though it's a simple little farm, it turned out to be a fun and relaxing activity for kids and families looking for something different to do in Las Vegas away from the Strip. Out of all the farms we were looking for we had found this was one of the few farms if not the only one open today. The one we initially thought of was closed. It was pretty much lackluster but it had the basics. Horses, donkeys, hogs, roosters, geese. It also had that homey feeling of items from days of old were strategically placed throughout the farm. Great place for kids parties or outings! Such a cool little place right off of blue diamond road. Plenty of animals and activities for kids! They also have some small businesses that set up tents for their products. There is so much parking right out front, and a huge lot across the street that you can easily access. All free parking. My husband and I like to walk around here every once in a while. It's always nice to see the cute charm of this little ranch and see happy rescued animals. The donkeys seem nice and social and the horses are older and mellow. You see the occasional rooster walking around. It's a great place for young kids! The wife and I took the kids here last weekend and we all had a good time. A good value family outing for only $5 per person and we even got to pick out a pumpkin to take home. The kids got to feed carrots to horses and goats, popcorn to geese and ducks, go through a corn maze and then the adults took a break while the kids played on the playground equipment and playing tetherball. They have a small snack shop with hotdogs, nachos, drinks and whatnot. The nachos were good and they put a Fair amount of cheese on them, I would absolutely get them again. But I suggest you don't waste your money on the soft pretzel, it's literally just a store bought frozen pretzel that they heat in a microwave.... Absolutely terrible. This is a cool little small farm area just very south of Las Vegas. It's pretty cool vibe that takes you away from your typical Vegas scenery. When you're here, it makes you feel like you're somewhere else, unless you're here during the Las Vegas heat. This is a cool place to visit if you are into the Halloween vibe and wanted to visit a vintage feeling pumpkin patch. They have live animals that just roam around and even a donkey for kids to ride. Took the kids there doing spring break a little bit of a disappointment as just didn't feel there was enough staff, unfortunately to help all the people that were there as most kids wanna ride a horse there were two horses, but just one person handling the horse and the line was long over 40 minute wait For one kid to go around two times for $10. This is a nonprofit so not too much worried about the price but just the wait time and of course children are very impatient and don't understand why they have to stand and wait so long so more help would've been wonderful if they could've been able to provide it. The little train that they pulled the kids around was a golf cart just looking dangerous and not safe to safe as I saw the kid's riding off it kind of scared us! Kids really enjoyed, feeding the horses and some of the other animals. They do sell popcorn and carrot bags to feed the horses and goats and what other little animals they have out there. I believe it was $2 a bag and $5 for a pony ride, train ride $2 , water $2 and some other items to purchase. The pumpkin patch at McKee Ranch is worth visiting. During the month of October the admission is $25.00 for the entire family. Throughout your visit you get to select a free pumpkin from the patch. Get there as soon as it opens at 11:00 am. So you can feed the hungry farm animals. A bag of carrots for the four legged animals is available for $3.00. They also have popcorn for the two legged animals. My husband and I enjoyed the many spots for Fall pictures. In addition, they have pony and horse rides. This place is great for Kids! My toddler talks about it every single day. The animals there are rescue so it is so nice to know they now have a safe home. All the workers and volunteers there are so nice and friendly. Dave is so kind and hardworking always making sure people are having a good time. They offer $5 pony rides and $10 horse rides on weekends and I think on some holidays. You can also bring your own produce that the animals are able to eat to feed them. Go here from time to time at least two or three times a month everyone's friendly I have noticed that sometimes people don't read signs that are posted. There's some animals that they don't want to be fed. there's a sign that says not to feed or to be fed. These animals are boarded from other people so they're not necessarily the ranches animals. It is a ranch so it is going to be dirty. There will be dirt on your shoes when you leave, but it is a fun experience. It's great for kids to be around animals and nature, I am so happy that there is a ranch that is in Las Vegas for kids to go and have fun and play in if you are a little uptight then this will be a problem for you but if you have no problem with a little dirt on your shoes. This is the perfect place to be. Great atmosphere and there's vendors and stuff like that on the weekend. You can come on the weekday to just like take cool pictures and stuff like that. Feed the animals. They have rides and pony rides and horse rides for the kids on the weekend it's on the weekend 11 to 4. Saw this on facebook and always looking to try different things. Not far from my house and right time of year to get outside. It was fun even for the 60 year old child. It runs totally on donations for entry and I know this is a hard effort. I brought some carrots and grapes with me to feed the horses and the rabbits and chickens like the grapes. I have been to McKee Ranch a few times throughout the years for various events including political events, birthday parties, photos, get togethers or just a family day. The facility takes donations to visit on the daily. I haven't hosted an event, so not sure the cost, but the events I have been to all have been nicely done and the ranch has a lot of space. I have seen blow up houses, train rides, pony rides, animal feedings and have a lot of options for different areas throughout the ranch itself to have events. They have a home onsite, so I am pretty sure someone lives there as well. There are a lot of various animals around to be seen. There are horse stables and apparently some are there being boarded and some are there owed by the ranch itself. They have volunteers that come and help take care of the horses including brushing, picking up feces, and doing all of the care. It is a ton of work to take care of horses and I think they just need more help. They are getting by at best. There are a lot of flies all over the horses, which I am not sure is exactly normal, but I go to the horse farm a lot in red rock and do not see this. There are a lot of turkeys roaming around which are super trippy looking. There are also little turkeys which don't really look like turkeys, they look like half breed chicken turkey thingies. I have no idea what they are.. weird looking guys. They had some new ducks and ducklings that had just been born the last time I was there, so that was cute to see. The horses can bite and there are signs to be careful of that. Also, some of them are on "special diets" so you are not supposed to feed some of them. There are cute photo areas everywhere throughout the ranch. It is mostly all dirt or hey, so I suggest proper shoes when visiting. They have a few kids play items there. Kids would have a few fun hours here and we generally enjoy it. I just wish they would get more volunteers? Or could pay people to help out with these beautiful animals. Ahhh... I wish I gave this place 4-5 starts. We don't have many places in Vegas for fall activities. So it's a gem. But get that needs a lot of maintenance. I discovered McKee ranch 8-9 years ago and loved it. But since then I had children and I can see how many things they have for kids are broken or not safe. Like little cars they have for kids to drive- all of them broken. Or toys on the table. Some are okay, and some are missing pieces and have sharp edges. Or safety issue at the barn- in the very end- there is a huge drop- I saw they put some hay in the end- but it's pretty small, and someone can easily fall. Also- please update work hours, they differ from your Facebook page and Yelp page. Hope next year it will be cleaner and more updated. We really need some nice, safe place to go to in our town in autumn. read more

We have been going here since our kids were very small. It has always been an exciting time and we've always enjoyed coming here during Halloween time. You were always able to get in with donating a canned good or whatever monetary amount you felt like donating. The whole ranch was decorated so cute and was kept pretty clean. This year, we were excited to bring our 3 year old grandson. We arrived and it already appeared to be different. They had an empty field across the street which was designated to the parking and there were A Lot of people, cars and traffic all over. It appeared really run down and dirty right from the start. We got to the entrance and it was a mandatory $25 " donation" for every family, no matter how large. I asked what if there was one individual , and was told$25.00 I explained we had one more to our party but she was going to meet us there and she told me no problem, that I could just meet her at the front when she got there and she would be let in. Also, each family $25 donation came with one single ticket that allowed you to pick a " free" pumpkin. Everything else , such as, pony or horse ride, face painting, or taking a ride on this little motorized train of bucket cars, was all charged separately. The bucket car thing looked very unsafe and also there were so many people there, it looked dangerous. The smell was so strong as well. There were rotting pumpkins everywhere, flies, the animal stalls were filthy dirty, the animals looked very unkept, and not taken care of, their water buckets looked like sludge, and the whole place was so run down and just plain gross. The stalls and animals enclosures were barely being held together. Holes in all the wood, dangerous rusty wires everywhere. There was no place to go, every turn you made was worse than the last. We finally just put him in an area surrounded by bales of hay, where there were old toys that looked like they were just fished out of the garbage, and a few really dangerous unsafe teeter tatters that were a total liability and so unsafe for the kids. We couldn't stand the smell, flies, and just over all neglect that had gone on here. Being that they are bringing in all that money, and not using any of it to try and make any kind of repairs or improvements it's just too disappointing. We called our family member that was to meet us there and told her to NOT COME. We grabbed any pumpkin that was not rotting into the ground with mold all over it, and ran for the exit. We visited both The Las Vegas Farm and McKee Ranch on the same day. The Las Vegas Farm was packed, and the animals were so overfed that they weren't even interested in the treats we bought. Still, the facility was well kept and easy to walk through despite the crowds. Parking was hectic, so we decided to stop by McKee Ranch since it looked smaller and more local. McKee Ranch advertised "donation-based" entry, but at the gate, we were told it was a mandatory $25 "donation" per group, whether it was one person or a family of six. The two ladies at the entrance weren't very welcoming, which wasn't the best first impression. We paid the $25, got a pumpkin, and bought another for $7, plus cotton candy and animal feed. Unfortunately, the animals didn't look well cared for, and the smell was overwhelming. The walkways were messy, and it was difficult to avoid stepping in smeared feces. The property had potential but felt cluttered with too many decorations and not enough open, clean space for the animals. It looked charming from the outside, but the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. read more

I went here ab 6 yrs ago and my experience was similar to many (smells, animals look like they haven't been taken care of, run down look, no one around, felt odd and strange.). Was hoping things had changed and improved esp since they charge $25 to get in now in Oct, and was planning on going this year, but not after reading many reviews. It sounds like it has not changed at all! I won't pay $25 if they are not using those funds to improve and to do what they should be doing! And I saw in a post the American flag hanging and all ripped up. Like what??? I won't support any business who has no respect for the people, animals, nor country they are working in! Really wish the owners would read these!!! While I don't know if the tattered/ripped flag is a political statement, sign of disrespect, or a sign of protest against America, the U.S. Flag Code suggests a flag that is no longer fit for display should be retired in a dignified manner, preferably by burning not putting it on display in shambles! Most know that too so not sure why the flag is on display like that! People willingly died and gave up their lives for the country that their flag represents so you all of us including the owners could sit safely at home with freedom! We loved McKee Ranch. We came on a Friday evening. It was lots of fun feeding the animals. There were pigs, chickens, roosters, horses, donkeys, goats and even bunnies, There were also food trucks and local vendors. A good time all around. There was one horse whose pen was helpfully labeled "do not feed I bite" so pay attention to that. My son also had the opportunity to ride a horse and Bluey was there but we did not opt to meet her because that cost an extra $10. That costume is hot and it is the dead of summer so I understand but the price was a little too steep for us on that one. read more

Went specifically for my daughter's 6th birthday (which FYI was on a Tuesday approx. 3pm), and it was a disappointment. Walked up, my husband donated $20 immediately, and then walked out after. We felt like we were in a scene for a horror movie. No one was around, finally saw two men in the distance loading a truck. I have been bringing my children and their friends to this venue for years now. The last time I was here was about 5 years ago when I donated a brood of chickens to the Ranch. If you didn't already know in addition to horse boarding services, McKee Ranch provides food and shelter to a variety of animals from chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats and more. There are areas to sit and picnic and spend some time together as a family, on a play date, or just kick back and relax . Granted there are animals and where there are animals there is poop...don't worry, the animals poop isn't a big deal at all. Somehow it's not really noticeable. The staff does a great job keeping the place tidy. Since my children are now much older, I haven't felt a need to stop in. That's until I noticed the "Tamale sign" a few weeks ago. After running an errand in the area and having "nothing" else in my calendar, I decided to stop and try some tamales. I chose one of each: chicken, beef, pork and cheese at $5 each. After she bagged them up, she filled me in with all the other offerings they are now serving: local honey, white honey, honeycomb, a variety of salsas and eggs of course! So far, I've only tried the beef tamale. I ate it with my own homemade salsa and avocado and it was delicious. The items may be on the pricier side but I am happy to support a local business that has so many great offerings to share with our local community. Although my son had fun , this was was chaotic and unorganized that i realized too late that the young lady who took my cash... never gave me back my change. So what a lovely 30+ dollar tip/donation McKee Ranch received. 3 workers stuck inside a little tiny trailer thing selling tickets for rides and train, all while offering to sell snacks, and making them in that little tiny trailer. The young lady who took my cash not only failed me to give my change back (and i hate how i forgot about it) she forgot to give me my ticket for other things. I very much prefer if this was ran by adults. Long line for horse riding.. there was only one horse, the horse was so tired, hungry, and so done you can clearly see it! They had to switch out the horse. I noticed some people were offered two rounds, three rounds. Not really consistent. Overall the only thing we truly enjoyed was the lemonade and snow cone stand. But the place is crowded as soon as they open. There is lots of poop and flies especially on the horses. They are asking for donations $25 Per family/group. And there are many pumpkin patches that free entry in those places actually have rides, slides& so much more . I think it's kind of high for a donation for what the place is. And you do get a ticket for a free pumpkin and a bag of carrots to feed the horses. They have face painting also a separate cost .But I would have love to see a lot more maybe fall foods and drinks . No rides but maybe even have a haystack or corn maze to make it worth the mandatory donation. They need to step up their game . 0/10 don't recommend. I will never be back . read more
