Memorial Park has just about everything you need for a family with various interests. You can't go wrong here, located right by Pasadena High School off 225, home of the Eagles, where the grass is greener and the girls are prettier. Basketball area is large, at least six goals, covered, and always full of basketball players of all ages. There is a skate park next to it with ramps of all sizes. My daughter's favorite section of the park, she uses it with her skates or bicycle, she is now asking for a skateboard this Christmas. I would, take caution with little ones; it's full of teenagers who do try to look out for smaller kids, except they can't avoid little ones when they are going full speed. I've seen some really bad accidents. Soccer fields always have players on them whether it is practice or games. Everyone seems to play nice even when the fields are being occupied by several groups. One of the soccer fields has a ¼ mile walking, running, jogging, trotting, biking, or skating track. Nobody is there to enforce the tracks rules, perfect for a mother of three who needs to get her cardio in with kids who rather bike ride, skate, or kick balls on the track. This may not be the track for you, if that sort of thing bothers you. You should still come for everything else Memorial Park offers. This mamita's favorite part: Unlike the skate park I don't have to chase my daughter to ensure her safety. I bring a blanket, lay down on top of the hill and let the kids work out their problems on the playground. I always yell to my kids as we are rushing out the door to grab water, but like most other times they don't listen. There are water fountains, and to my surprise actually have a good water pressure that their mouths are nowhere near the spout. The bad, is very bad. Restrooms, let's just not go there. Gazebo, bridge, leisurely strolls, picnic tables, pits, and benches are all part of a day at the park. There is always someone selling raspas, corn in a cup, chicarrones, and other gusguerias (junk food). Just for Pete's sake pick up after yourself. My kids don't take many orders from me, but our one family rule is, "we don't litter", if they see you do it, well you asked for it.

A bit of a green nature escape among the concrete plazas of inner loop Houston. Decent walking trail, kids play area and tennis court. I have mixed feelings about this park at evening though and it's rather dark at evening. Barely any lights at that time. Be cautious at your own risk and visit the park during daylight hours. It's non discrete and far from pretentious. A good place to get in fresh air and a few laps around the trail. The play area for kids isn't that big, but it's fun enough with various trinkets and slides. The swings for the kiddos and babies are available as well. Lots of joy and a spot to take photos. Grady Park is chill, I've taken the bebe here and we've captured some fun moments of his first experience on the swings and slides. Be careful with your possessions while visiting any park and as I mentioned, visit during daylight hours. Toodles!

Needed another place to sit and eat while resting up a bit. Found this park nearby and was pleased to see a parking lot, benches, picnic tables, playground, tennis and basketball courts and plenty if shade. I was especially impressed to see some of the picnic tables were handicap friendly. I am definitely a fan of this park.

This green space is small, but it offers most of what you need in a park: gated dog park area,…read morephoto opps with the "Midtown" sign, onsite eats (Rico's Morning Noon & Night), soothing sounds of a water fountain, a "Before I Die" interactive art instillation ... and grass to lay out and enjoy the lovely weather we've had lately. There really isn't another park in the Midtown area, so this spot offers a lil something for the locals or even folks looking to entertain tourists/friends.

I would say that we have had a generally positive experience with regard to use of the facilities…read more(cage rental and baseball rainout practices) and what little training we have done there. Certainly nothing to complain about there. The one thing I wanted to include in a review was related to a vehicle related crime while we were attending a training session inside. While parked in front of the building, two individuals attempted to steal my catalytic converters. They got one but were interrupted before they could fully remove the other. The witness entered the facility and I was notified of the event. This was approximately 5:30 (Monday, broad daylight) on a Monday. I inquired with the employees about security footage and was told that there were cameras. I indicated that I would like to get copies of the footage but had to leave at that time. Two days later(Wednesday), I was finally able to get my police report filed (long story) and called Breakaway just before 3 PM. The individual I spoke with new nothing of the event and was not able to give me any information regarding the security cameras. She indicated that she would talk to the owner and to expect a call back that day as they take those things seriously. Two days later (Friday) just before 3 PM, I called back after hearing nothing. The individual was surprised to hear that the owner had not called me and said that the camera footage was reviewed but I was in a blind spot for the cameras. I don't know if the footage was ever checked or whether I was in a blind spot, but I never received a call from the facility to let me know and had to call back myself. From where I was parked, I could see security cameras. I don't know if they were out of service or what, but no attempt was made to communicate any of that to me. If you go, watch your car!

Wish I knew the truth about this place before we wasted a year of our time & money. My daughter…read moreplayed softball for the 14U team and towards the end you could tell the owner only cared about $$$. To play on the team you have to sign a contract so if it doesn't work out and you decide to leave you are still liable for the monthly payments. Randy, the owner, only speaks to the players directly and never addresses any issues about the players to their parents. If any parents had any concerns we could never reach the owner, no matter if there was an email, call or text. He was never available to speak on any these issues. He tells everyone's business to everyone else, so be careful what you divulge. Very weird and manipulative. They claim to have the best training in sports but our record was pretty horrible fall/spring 2022-2023 (W24/ L69) and nothing ever changed. The coaches were very sweet but weren't able to coach how they wanted and it showed, all 3 ended up leaving due to the same issues and not having a control over team decisions. The owner plays favorites to whichever parents spend the most moneys. After only being on another team for 2 weeks now, I've seen such a huge improvement on communication and training! I can see now that breakaway is not in it for the long haul. Sad part is you only see it once you get on Randy's bad side. Sadly the only thing my daughter did was not go to ONE tournament due to the cost which was advised to Randy months in advance but I guess that didn't matter. We were told by other parents that my daughter wasn't invited back to the next season but never told directly from the coach.
