I am a real estate agent and was recently working with a client whose home was scheduled to be sold in a foreclosure auction. My client retained attorney Timothy McFarlin to represent her, and his team immediately sprang into action helping her stop the sale and negotiate a forbearance agreement that allowed her to restructure the debt and keep her home. In addition to providing her with excellent representation and customer service, he was compassionate in recognizing that she was going through financial hardship and was willing to work with her to bring his services within reach. My clients really appreciate all of his help and the second chance he was able to afford them. They could not be happier, and I recommend him to anyone without reservation. read more

DISBARRED !!!!! Thank you God! He used my money for a new office. $3,000, and did nothing for my case. Thank you bar for doing us all a favor, happy to see him gone. read more

Let me start off by saying, I don't leave bad reviews unless absolutely necessary (to help others). In this case, something must be said! I contacted McFarlin LLP via telephone on June 6, 2022 to get more information on filing a Ch.7 bankruptcy. Iris (whom I spoke to) said I would need to fill out a questionnaire and pay $2500 retainer. They sent me a link to a questionnaire so I filled it out and submitted. I did not send any funds (THANK GOD). After a week went by I contacted them via email, radio silence. Then I proceeded to call, several times, but could not get thru to anyone unless I had an extension... it was not like that before when I first called and spoke with Iris. Now you can't get on their website without a warning message stating "it is unsafe to enter this page, information may be stolen". Next thing you know, about a month after submitting my info, I have a $20,000 credit card line opened in my name!!! And the worst part is they didn't make ANY payments! This was NOT the only account they tried opening in my name, they tried several banks and lending companies but since I caught onto the $20k CC, I was able to do a credit freeze. After several months and disputing with Experian and FTC, I was able to get the credit card removed from under my name/credit report. This really affected my financial capabilities and trashed my record. Luckily things are looking positive now that I've cleared most of it up. I'm mainly writing this review beacause it appears theyr'e "still in business" so I want to warn anyone considering doing any kind of business with McFarlin LLP. I don't care if they've helped a handful of people, that is if the reviews are from real or unpaid people or not from the man himself! I gave this company all of my personal and financial info, as it was needed. No one else had (or has) access to this info. I am a single (65 yrs old) small business owner and do not have social media so it could not have been stolen from anyone other than whoever had access to my personal info (cough McFarlin LLP/staff). Also they have MANY reviews stating the same or a similar issue. They've stolen money and personal identities... several times! I also noticed there is a Rhode Island address on my credit report. I've lived in CA all my life. I'm wondering if that's where he's hiding out! LOL... read more

I had the best job in the world for the last 12 years working for Mcfarlin LLP. Tim was one of the smartest, down to earth, honest, positive, and all together one of the nicest guys that you will ever meet. I can tell you he genuinely cared for each one of his clients. He worked very hard on every case to make sure every outcome would be successful with a positive result. We saved over hundreds of homes every year for clients. Tim went above and beyond to make sure his clients received the best representation I know because he was my boss. He's a great leader and a positive roll model. And I promise he will give you 110% I watched him in action and it's extremely impressive! read more

Do NOT hire this lawyer!!! I paid him a very large amount of money and then he disappeared and I had to go through a lengthy dispute process. I will be reporting him to the Ca State Bar as well. read more

I've had a extremely bad experience with McFarlin to throw point where I wanted a refund and when I asked them for me refund they said it Will take up to a week well it's been almost 2 weeks now and I have left multiple emails and phones to check on the status of the refund and I have not gotten a call back nor a email. I've called multiple people from iris and talien and haven't received a single call back or update on it. It's becoming very unprofessional at this point all I have been asking for is to speak to someone and check on the status of my refund. If they could just call me back I wouldn't have to leave such a negative review read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY/man ANY MONEY UNLESS YOU NEVER WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN!!! I unfortunately have learned my lesson too late. I paid them $5000 retainer w/ a signed contract and they've completely disappeared. No returned calls or emails by anyone in the company. I've reported him to the CA. State Bar and BBB. I also turned him into the police and there's already a pending investigation. I'm pretty sure this is also how my identity was stolen. Save yourself time, money, and heartache. It sucks there's evil people like this among us. They took money from the wrong people :( read more

I have been unable to reach my attorney, Tim McFarlin for months now. Their website is awful and completely nonfunctional. No one answers the phone, it is all automated with no option to speak with an actual person. I am extremely disappointed in McFarlin LLP's services (or lack thereof). I would give Tim McFarlin zero stars if that was an option. read more

This firm was very helpful to me. They sent me a form to fill out online so that we could have a reasonable conversation over the phone. When I answered such things as "we can talk about it on the phone", they accepted that answer rather than push for the time consuming process of finding the answers when I know up front it's probably not going to work out for me. Once we got on the phone the interview was fantastic and very helpful. I have been on the road to solving my financial problems for over 2 months now. I have done extensive research and found out that the truth of the matter is I'm not in a very good position. This firm was willing to share that information with me up front. I can always call back. I know who to request and I'm what department. It's a very good company and very friendly. They made me feel better and gave me some honest and realistic options. Highly recommend! read more

Worst experience ever! They asked for $9,000.00 upfront and $1,000.00 a month for maintenance fee. For our $11,000 we got a 15 minute meeting with Tim, a failed lawsuit filing that we help the para-legal write, and not ONE call from Jarrod, the attorney who was assigned to our case. After paying two months of $1,000 maintenance fees, and not receiving a return call from Jarrod, to discuss the strategy for moving forward, we stopped making payments. Then we started receiving calls from the office accountant for payments. I told her when Jarrod calls, we will pay. He didn't and I didn't. We did file a complaint with The State Bar of California. read more

I reached out to McFarlin over a residential landlord dispute. I received a response back from Tim, a managing partner within hours. Tim was kind, courteous and candid about his services. Not only did he not try to take advantage of my situation but he pointed me in the right direction of someone who specializes in that area of expertise free of charge. For the first time, it felt like a lawyer was actually on my side and not simply trying to collect a retainer. I will definitely be using McFarlin for all my future legal needs. read more

They say 98% of lawyers give the other 2% of lawyers a bad name. Then Jarrod at McFarlin is that 2% of lawyers who give 98% laywers a GOOD name. I never thought I'd have so much regard and respect for a lawyer until my encounter with Jarrod. He was very compassionate, humble, professional, and prompt replying his emails and phone calls. He went out of his ways to meet me in my neighborhood for a FREE consultation because it was convenient for ME. His secretary even called to inform me that he's running little late for our meeting. Most lawyers wouldn't want to even spend more than 10 minutes with you on the phone for a free advise. Jarrod not only thoroughly reviewed my case for free, educated me on my legal matters, but also advised me on my options, and even invited me to call anytime if I had further questions. He sincerely cared for my situation than my own brother. My only question for him is if he is single and available. I would then have to charge my girlfriends a finder's fees for finding a Mr. Nice Guy. Jarrod is such a rare species in the field of lawyers. He puts my lawyer jokes to rest.. read more

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR LEGAL CONSEL PLEASE READ MY REVIEW ABOUT MCFARLIN LLP AND I HOPE THIS REVIEW FINDS YOU WELL. Back story: On or around April 2011 I filed for Bankruptcy do to the 2009 housing crisis. I renegotiated my first mortgage but the second mortgage was sold and I never heard from them for over 15 years. Now 15 years later, my new second mortgage company Statebridge LLC contacted me by certified mail saying I owe then 36 thousand dollars and to pay it or face foreclosure. Meeting: On 03/17/2021 after several conversation with Paul Rodriguez over the phone regarding retaining their firm to negotiate a settlement with Statebridge LLC. I meet with Paul Rodriguez and Timothy G. McFarlin. Paul Rodriguez and Timothy G. Mcfarlin both said and agreed "I had no leverage to negotiate and filing a lawsuit was my best option to gain leverage" BUYER BEWARE! I told Paul Rodriguez and Timothy G. McFarlin I just wanted the 2nd mortgage settled/negotiated before foreclosure. Retainer: The retainer stated "represent client in foreclosure vs Stonebridge and it affiliates." I told Paul Rodriguez that the company was STATEBRIDGE LLC and I was NOT in Foreclosure. Paul Rodriguez stated "I will fix it" but he never did. BUYER BEWARE! Also the retainer stated: "Client does not elect to proceed under the State Bar fee arbitration process." I asked Paul Rodriguez about this. Paul Rodriguez stated "It's standard" BUYER BEWARE! Filing: On April 13, 2021, McFarlin LLP filed a lawsuit against Statebridge LLC and on August 6, 2021 115 DAY LATER! McFarlin LLP filed THE PROOF OF SERVICE TO STATBRIDGE LLC. That is 115 days later(unreasonable). BUYER BEWARE! I asked Samantha Geraghty from McFarlin LLP way the delay. Samantha stated "the case was filed in April, however serving defendants typically takes weeks, especially if they are evasive of service. Then, once they are served, our office has to wait for a report from the process server and a subsequent proof of service." I told Samantha Geraghty that Statebridge LLC is a brick and mortar business facility. Evasion for 4 months is unreasonable to believe. Please email me all proof of service and attended service in a time is of the essence matter. AFTER THIS REQUEST, MCFARLIN LLP AND IT'S ASSOCIATE STARTED TO "GHOST" ME a paying customer who is now in foreclosure. I retained McFarlin LLP 4 months before I was in foreclosure. McFarlin LLP never contacted Statebridge LLC regarding a settlement or negotiating a deal on my property. BUYER BEWARE! Conclusion: After confronting Samantha Geraghty about taking 115 days to serve papers to Statebridge LLC(UNREASONABLE). I called Timothy G. Mcfarlin several times and left messages in which he NEVER called me back.BUYER BEWARE! I emailed Timothy G. McFarlin, Samantha Geraghty, Eileen Valder and Leticia Ruiz from McFarlin LLP for weeks and they never answered ANY of my emails regarding my case. BUYER BEWARE! I was a monthly paying customer with a case in court and I was ABANDON by McFarlin LLP and the funniest thing is, Eileen Valder sent me a monthly bill for 1,000.00 after Timothy, Samantha, Eileen and Leticia from McFarlin LLP ignored my calls, message and emails for weeks regarding my case and still to this day. I wanted and asked Mcfarlin LLP to negotiate a settlement for me but instead Mcfarlin LLP took 115 days to serve Statebridge LLC paper(unreasonable) and for 6 months McFarlin LLP never contacted Statebridge LLC to negotiation a settlement. I asked for a refund and of course they NEVER responded. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH STATE BAR OF CALIFORNIA so time will tell. Cause of action: 1) breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing (2) Fraudulent Misrepresentation BUYER BEWARE! read more

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Their capitalizing on home owners that are dealing with zombie mortgage situations. Their lead guy Paul will tell you everything you want to hear. You sign up, then you get a 10 minute intro call with McFarlin, telling you everything you want to hear. Your mind is briefly at peace.. Then this is when the fun begins, after they take your money.. You don't hear from anyone. You work with office staff, not even paralegals.. They file court documents, which are basically templates, with your info added lol .. I had to pay for a court filing service so that I could follow the filing. No updates from McFarlin on filing, no updates on anything. Calls go straight to voicemail, emails go unanswered. I even went as far as driving to their address in Irvine. Nice office, but empty. Lawyers didn't respond to mortgage company attorney's .. didn't show up for court, just a complete sh*tshow! Unreal, a blatant disregard for my situation. Finally spoke to an attorney, and I knew more about my case then he did. I'm not going to continue to beat a dead horse, but thank God, I was proactively working with a few other people, or else I would have lost my home because of these crooks .. If you are going through a zombie mortgage situation, please reach out to a non profit organization for help. Don't trust these selfish attorney's. All they care about is making money, all while you stress. A selfish attorney from Mesa Law group - disbarred was the reason I had a zombie mortgage to begin with. read more

Very satisfied with the way everything they make sure you get everything you need for the process

We had some legal issues and assumed we needed an attorney and probably a lawsuit, but after consulting with Tim McFarlin we realized there was actually no immediate need to hire an attorney after all. Without getting into too many confidential issues, McFarlin LLP attorneys and staff are extraordinarily professional and helpful. Legal challenges can be stressful but having a reliable attorney to turn to for advice is such a relief. If you are looking for an honest and solution oriented law firm, these are your guys. So between Tim McFarlin and Paul explaining the process and letting us know what to expect the whole way, as well as Gary and Jarrod Nakano creatively litigating and most amazingly Mary Geunther never giving up for us we actually accomplished our goals and then some. McFarlin is an attorney that cares about his clients! I feel better after just my initial phone conversation. My call was taken by the ATTORNEY immediately. The staff at McFarlin LLP was incredibly helpful. I was skpetical to say the least, however the end game was a second mortgage payoff of $57,000 from $184,000. This was done in 12 months time and I feel the price paid could have potentially been lower, but we wanted to put this behind us. I dealt mainly with Mary who always answered the phone, emailed right away and kept in constant contact during the entire process. When necessary Tim was able to step in and provide legal advice and guidance which will always come up in these circumstances. Overall McFarlin LLP delivered exactly what I was looking for. We can now move ahead with our lives and stay in our house. Thank you to both Tim and Mary. read more

Hi. My name is Lisa Marquez. For fours years I have stressed and struggled with a past due home equity line of credit that was on my home. I have talked to the bank at least one hundred times. I have had debt settlement companies try to help me. I have tried government programs. I have researched countless hours on the internet to try to find some solution. I could find nothing or no one to help. I was told by other lawyers and companies that Bank of America does not do debt settlements. I was told that they don't even have a settlement department. My $70,000 debt grew to $84,000 with added interest everyday. It got so out of hand that I would need to pay the $14,000 of added interest just to go back to paying the $70,000 principal off again. I was overly frustrated and truly discouraged. I found Mcfarlin Law Firm online and immediately called them. I spoke to Paul and felt confident that he was straight forward and honest and would do his best for me. He told me that he had attained settlements for people with Bank of America loans and I believed him. I checked out the law firms reviews and I decided that I needed to move forward with them to try to get some help with this huge problem in my life. When I signed up with the Law firm they connected me with Mary Guenther. I gathered all the necessary paperwork that she requested and to my shock and surprise within about 3 weeks I was offered a settlement from Bank of America of $10,600. On a $84,000. balance!!!!! Words can not express the gratitude I feel for these people!! I have had a 1000 pound weight just lifted off me. It feels amazing!!! Thank you all so very much :) read more

We had a great experience with McFarlin! Our first contact was with Paul Rodriguez who assured us that, even though we were no longer upside down on our mortgage, they would be able to help us with our charged off second mortgage. Mary Guenther kept us in the loop during the entire process, coaching us in the correct way to fill out the paperwork and sending us status emails as our case worked it's way through the process. She would even send us an email from time to time when nothing was happening to let us know what we should expect next. Before we knew it, we had 12% settlement offer and we couldn't be any more satisfied. read more

We are a hard working "Christian family", who had gone though the modification "torture mill" with Bank of America and several "fraudulent loan modification firms/attorneys", who had left us in worst conditions then we entered when they were closed down by the Attorney General's office ..We were in a desperate situation because Bank of America, after months of playing games with us, leading us on and pretending to be helping us by having us apply for programs they NEVER had intentions of giving us. Actually they were on the fast track of trying to foreclose on our home after reneging on honoring several modification! We knew we had to FIGHT bank 'legally"... So we called Tim McFarlin (McFarlin LLP)! Our first contact was with Paul Rodriguez who brought us into the office to meet Paul . So, with the help of Tim McFarlin..who organized a legal team consisting primarily of Connie Catone and Jarrod Nakano (and several other attorneys during different period), his legal Secretary Mary Guenther who kept us in the loop during the entire process, assisting us in the proper way to fill out the paperwork and sending us status emails as our case...she was AWESOME! Our case went a little over 2 years! But, McFarlin were able to keep us in our home during that time and we walked away with a better modification and one in which BofA will remain under the watchful eye of the courts if they try to renege on this one! Throughout our entire, STRESSFUL ordeal with Bank of America, we found our lawyers to be sensitive and caring...wanting to get US the best deal possible. We had a excellent experience with with McFarlin and would highly recommend them! Blessings, Renita and D'Andre Franklin read more

I have an eerily similar experience to that of Teena C. Bankruptcy in 2010, then we tried to contact the lender (Chase) to catch up or reinstate the 2nd mortgage on our home. Gave up after many fumbles, re-FAXING personal data etc. Tried to start an RMA around 2013 with Chase who refused. Even had an attorney who tried to contact them. Chase instead began foreclosure on our 2nd mortgage. When that occurred, Chase - by law - had to offer an RMA. :) We began the RMA process; it was a nightmare and my husband literally would spend hours on the phone several days each month to ensure that Chase confirmed receipt of documentation they required. This was documentation we sent over many times. We also pressed Chase for details on the balance they said we owed. It became complicated. After 18 months, Chase finally gave us a determination; rejected due to high income! They continued with the foreclosure process. Last chance for us: we contacted McFarlin and signed up with them. First, they prevented Chase from moving forward with the foreclosure. Chase agreed to provide another review (RMA) which we filled out. We re-supplied data only a couple times. This was a very stressful time, but not nearly as stressful as the previous 18 months!!. After 12 months, Chase approved the RMA - we got what we needed; an affordable payment. extremely low interest rate. This allows us to keep our home. Thanks to the McFarlin family of lawyers and support staff, especially Mary G.! read more

I called a couple of times and left messages to receptionist. They never called me back. Strange way to conduct business...

I had been working with my mortgage company for over a year and half trying to modify my loan without success, and then for a few months with another "consultant" who was supposed to help, but was only a waste of money. Then with my back against the wall, a week before my foreclosure sale date I contacted McFarlin LLP to see if there was anything they could do to help. I researched them on the better business bureau website, Yelp, and other review boards and found positive reviews, so I was happy because my time was running out. From the very first phone call the representative took the ball and ran. They collected all of my information and was preparing all of the paperwork for the court in a matter of three days. Everyone I spoke with was professional and understanding. I liked that they were honest and said they could not guarantee the bank would modify the loan, but they would do all that was in their power to help me get it done. They were in court for my case four or five days after I contacted them. I received updates any time there was activity on my case, which I really appreciated. I never had to call and ask what was going on. They never seemed to mind when I did call with questions I had. My case was complicated, but in the end, they were able to help me get the modification and I was VERY happy with the final results. Their fees were well worth the service received. I worked directly with Joe, Connie, Gary, and Mary. It was nice that Tim also set aside time to introduce himself before the file was handed over to my assigned attorney. I worked with Gary and Mary for the majority of my process and they were GREAT! I would recommend McFarlin to anyone who needed assistance with their modification. read more
