As I recall Fatburger have two locations in the UK, despite being a large US chain with many stores…read morein the Western part of the USA including California, as well as branches around the world. This location is located basically right next to Wembley Stadium, which is the largest football stadium in the UK, home to the England National Football team, and temporary home to Tottenham Hotspur. Inside, the branch seems to be set out like a typical American burger joint, there isn't a great deal of seating and the Fatburger branding seems to be all over. The staff didn't seem to be too friendly or knowledgeable about gluten-free, luckily I checked the website beforehand to find out what food I could have or I'd have been in a tricky and messy situation. I decided to order the Skinny Fatburger, sadly I was told I was unable to have the chips/fries or any side due to gluten. The Skinny Fatburger is a burger where the bun is replaced by more burger meat, the meat was terribly cooked and bland, and the toppings were just thrown on, it basically was a cheap sloppy mess at a premium price of £8.25. The waiting time and communication in getting my food was also a mess, it seemed staff were walking around carrying the food, some of them even wore a coat instead of a uniform, so it felt like a random person was walking up to you with your food, which was strange and unprofessional. I was also told they didn't do milkshakes because it was match-day, of course, I was visiting ahead of Manchester City's 3-0 win over Arsenal in the 2018 Carabao Cup, but I still cant' understand this policy. I'm actually struggling to come up with a positive to describe this place, other than the location, this place can't be missed if you're attending Wembley Stadium, especially if approaching from towards Wembley Central Station, which is around a 5-10 minute walk from here (overground and underground services). With many other places to grab a burger nearby (it's right next to a football stadium after all), I'm struggling to see how this place survives with cheap, dreadful, sloppy food and bad service at a high price. Sadly, having wanted to try this place for a while I ended up being highly dissapointed, hence Fatburger at Wembley, London sadly deserves a one-star rating.

After an awful experience at Nando's a few stores down in the London Designer Outlet, I called in…read moreHandmade Burger Co having been intrigued by a large sign in a window about their gluten-free range. I called here late evening on an event day, after watching Manchester City defeat Chelsea 2-0 to win the Community Shield, and due to the time, it did seem a little quiet, with only one staff member actively working, who seemed friendly enough. He briefly explained the gluten-free menu to me, that I could basically have any burger on the menu made gluten-free, and the menu I found to be cool and interesting, even included a peanut-butter burger, however, I decided to be slightly more basic, ordering a simple American cheeseburger. The selection of chips also was pretty cool, they were fresh chips with your choice of seasoning for a small fee extra - Peri-peri - Cajun - Rosemary Salt I decided to opt for the rosemary salt, the chips were okay, albeit not spectacular. Moving onto my burger, it was basically presented like a DIY burger with the bun in a bag, I found this approach to be a little weird, considering the price I paid is a competitive restaurant price I found it weird they'd serve it like that, and would much prefer they put it together, but I understand why this is good for coeliacs as it minimises cross-contamination and offers assurances that I won't be ill through eating the food. The overall food quality was satisfactory, the burger did appear to be cooked slightly more well-done than medium but still was okay, I did like the American Cheese on the burger but once again this wasn't as good as possible, as the cheese should have been more melted than just a slice placed on the burger. It is worth noting you can get two for one here using Tastecard between Sunday and Thursday, however I couldn't use it on the day of my visit because it was a Wembley event day, without this offer I think the pricing is a little pricey, especially when you want to add extras such as chips or a drink which should be included in perhaps a burger bundle. Average quality at slightly above average prices warranting a high two-star rating, yet sadly not deserving of a three-star rating due to a large amount of issues.

With a tremendous variety of burgers on offer here at Handmade Burger, and perks such as student…read morediscount and bottomless soft drinks available, this seems like an okay choice for lunch or dinner and it is just that. I've been twice now, once for dinner and another time for lunch. The lunch was considerably better than the dinner although the menu is the same. The reason why lunch was more pleasurable is probably as there were fewer customers and so the cooking was not rushed nor deep fried as much. Dinner on a night when there is a match or other event on at Wembley is bound to involve a restaurant-full of people and, it would seem, less attention paid to the quality of food served.  The meat, from the beef patties and chicken breasts in the burgers to the chicken wings, does taste fresh and well seasoned. However the onion rings and rosemary chips were dry and a little brittle. I recommend the plain freshly cut chips over the flavoured options as they appear to be less overcooked. The milkshake comes in an enormous-American-like-sized tanker and as mentioned previously, bottomless soft drinks are a good value choice. The green chilli and fire roasted pepper sauces are nice to try but somewhat difficult to administer through the tiny hole at the top of their bottles. Ketchup and mayo can be requested from your server.  Basically, Handmade Burger feels like Nandos but specialising in burgers rather than chicken. However the fillings here are better yet the sides are not. You order and pay up-front first, and the dining area is simple and casual. Ultimately it's somewhere to go for a quick and filling meal.

Meat & Shake

This nearly got itself 5 stars, but not quite there...yet!…read more Meat & Shake was on my radar as soon as it opened in Ealing, it's near enough my local! We finally got round to giving it a try, and in all honesty I wasn't sure what to expect. The place has mixed reviews, and I had my reservations. I don't think my opinion of a place has changed as quickly as it did here when our starters came out! My doubt turned to joy at the first bite of the hot link sausage, closely followed by an amazing Buffalo wing...I knew we were on to a winner! Mains wise I had spotted one of the best looking ribs I had seen in a long time, so asked the waitress for the same thing. My partner went for a burger and we added chips (with balsamic and mayo)and mac n cheese. The ribs were as stunning as they looked, full of meat, juicy, tasty and all round heaven on a plate. The burger was good, but if you want the best burger in the world go elsewhere. it's the BBQ side of things that make Meat & Shake stand out so I really suggest sticking with that...chicken, ribs, hotdogs etc The chips were amazing, I had never even seen chips with balsamic on before, but after these will be covering them in it in the future! The Mac n cheese was average, nice but in all honesty we didn't' need it...the portions were big and we were pretty stuffed! So food wise this is one of the best meals I have had for the price range it's in, and will 100% be going back. The only thing that really let Meat & Shake down was the service, and it wasn't just us. 3 tables around us were moaning to each other about it as well. The issue wasn't staff themselves, it was clearly there was not enough of them. We waited ages to order, and in the end skipped dessert before I aged another week myself. It's a simple change that would have given this place 5 stars...get some more staff on busy nights, and organise them better! In summary, give this place a visit, and you won't disappointed! Maybe just avoid the hot sauce, as it's lethal!

Was relatively excited to visit this place after the positive Yelp reviews…read more After a 1 HOUR wait the food finally came after watching many people arrive, eat and leave in the time we waited for our food. Thankfully the food was really good. Highly recommend the Hot Links sausage. Most of the bbq sauce stuff is quite fruity which isn't my vibe usually. What really irked me was ordering a bootle of tap water for the table which took 20minutes while the waitress prepped two empty tables with water before us.

It's the best burger I have had in London and I have gone everywhere in my burger sampling (I am American, after all). Let's start with the burger. I went with the double bacon cheese; in for a penny, in for a pound. The beef was plentiful and flavourful, and thin, which is my preference. They used crispy, smoked streaky bacon (perfect) and a lovely tangy sauce to round it out. And the bun...the bun! It's a super soft brioche and it managed to hold together until the end, pretty rare in my experience. They offer an impressive, almost staggering, array of beers. Some are quite strong so be ready. The two I tried were fantastic and it seems like some thought has gone into the menu. The fries were also excellent and I look forward to trying the cheese and gravy version next time. The prices are very reasonable, though not dirt cheap, which is actually comforting. The ambiance was pretty humble but it's a burger joint so that is expected. The music was really cool so that really made it a nice place to be. The service was friendly and prompt. What more do you want?

I've been coming here for years now, seeing how things changed have only made it better. Ever since they brought out the option to have your burgers 'naked' (so without the bun), gives more choice to having a bun less meal and it's great for people on gluten free diets. I don't have a favourite burger per se, but I can say the taxi driver is usually the best and a safe bet. For those who observe a halal food diet, GBK's chicken is halal but due to kitchen structure and food cooked together on the grill the panko fried chicken is the best option. However, GBK are flexible for you to choose whatever burger you want with fried chicken. Oh yeah, one last point, their milkshakes are amazing! Lime is pretty interesting but I think either vanilla or peanut butter is the best.
