Galley Diner - Green goddess veggie burger and moonshine Harley cocktail . Didn't need the hot sauce but liked it's name .

Good Galley! Galley…read moreDiner is a no fuss casual dining experience with great burgers, loaded fries and all the food goodness you secretly crave. You wouldn't expect to find this gem in Daylesford, so it's a pleasant unexpected treat! American inspired furnishings that gets the diner feel right, with an amusing Wall of Fire of hot sauce to warm the cockles of your heart. We had the Galley Burger with a beef patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and house sauce. The loaded fries with Mexican inspired toppings and the Nutella thick shake malt! The Galley Burger was fantastic, fresh ingredients and the patty cooked perfectly. It doesn't make you fall asleep and was a joy to eat. My only criticism, is the house sauce. For some strange reason they barely put enough of it, it's so good and yet, it's like it's not there. It reminds me of the Big Mac sauce if you're looking for a comparison. We remedied this madness with tomato and mustard sauce on the table which made the burger complete (so I recommend making your own concoction using the Wall of Fire too). The loaded fries on the other hand was jam-packed with sour cream, salsa, avocado and cucumber. For $5, this was a steal. A truckload of well cooked, tasty chips that worked so well with the trims. The Nutella thick shake was exactly what the heart desired. Tasty, big, not too sweet and was a complete joy to experience. The wait staff were fast and friendly, couldn't fault the service. There's so many more items on the menu I want to try, from the BBQ pork ribs, to the fried chicken and the calamari rings, but that would be for another time in Daylesford. Some of the pricing can be on the expensive side however. Galley Diner is fantastic, gets the basics right without being pretentious and offers delicious, comfy food the tastebuds crave.

So glad we happened upon this spot. All food cooked fresh…read moreon the premises . Great selection of burgers, fried chicken and corn was great and the caesar salad. Vegetarian goddess burger was amazing . Loved the selection of Moonshine cocktails in mason jars. The 3 of us enjoyed it all.

The Local Burger Co - Big burger with sweet potato fries

It is hard to fault a shop which aims to bring inner-suburbs food quality to the outer east. Which…read moreis exactly what the local burger co is doing, setting up shop in croydon south. With oversight from a couple of staff from the original Carlton north store, they are grilling (medium rare!) burgers, frying up sweet potato fries, and swilling American sodas out in the sticks. And, though it has only been five days, the quality seems equal to the original shop. Quality produce, prepared efficiently and well, and served on enameled tin plates. The burgers are big. The aptly named big burger is a whole meal in itself. But there are sides to choose from as well: sweet potato fries, normal potato fries, chilli cheese fries for those who like to turn their chips into their main meal. And a pretty epic selection of American and Mexican soft drinks, along side Phoenix juices and fizzy offerings. The ambiance is nice, going with the polished-concrete-and-exposed-bulb aesthetic of the original shop - which, in the outer suburbs, isn't overdone yet. I'm looking forward to the weekly specials menu being up, and trying some of the spectacular-looking cakes TL;DR: visit. The food is great. And it is 58,000times better than any take away in surrounding suburbs.

Sad to say after several visits here, this will be my last time . In the past this has been a great…read moreburger place but tonight it seems they are getting ready to shut the doors . Half the menu is not available, there's only a few soft drinks in the fridge., no milkshakes. And its dear $10 for fries with gravy and its s small serve. If you want a non Mcdonald's style of burger , cross the road and go to the fish and chip shop. Don't waste your money here !!
