Very happy to have dined here, even as our second choice for the evening! They have an…read moreextraordinary amount of outdoor tables, and only two indoor tables. Making this place perfect for a nice day. It's very typical casual Australian where you order at counter, choose a table and the staff brings out your food. You also grab your own water and condiments, which is a hit or miss for Americans. Personally, I love having it all out there for me to grab and not have to wait for someone to ask if I need anything! My guy picked a fried chicken sandwich special. They had a pretty long list of specials on a wooden board near the cashier, so I would check that out before ordering. I picked a burger with pan fried chorizo, jalapenos, and tons of aioli. It was really good. Although I'm still not quite used to the high prices for burgers with no sides in this country, it was very much on par with other burger joints I've seen. If not a dollar less than similar places. The two of us each got a burger and split one order of specialty garlic parm fries, but if you're cool with regular fries/chips, then they have a great deal to add a portion with your sandwich for only a $1 or $2. The nice view of the beach and the trees is a pretty nice perk as well. :)

Chop n grind really emphasise on the American-style burgers as they are quite a hefty size. The double double chop was amazing, and my girlfriend seemed to enjoy the cheeseburger. The fries are another thing though, they are like Maccas chips only bigger! Will return here

Was it worth the three hour drive up? Maybe just to try it one time..but only because we had mates…read moreup that way. I tasted like Hungry Jacks and McDonald's burgers did the nasty and came out with these. The fries were alright. The burgers were mediocre at best. The patties were dry af. I had the Hawaiian Chicken and it tasted exactly like Hungry Jacks, then there was some rancid sauce on the burger - thank the lawd they only squirted it on a tiny portion of the burger and it was the last part, so I just didn't eat it. The japaleno burger was slightly better - if only the patty wasn't overcooked to hell. The food and safety authority will be happy about that though. Really, if it comes to Sydney, try it then...otherwise it wasn't really worth the three hour drive.

The boy and I are in the area for a family get together and thought we'd give Carl's a try and see…read morehow it stacks up to the likes of Maccas and HJ's. Well I can safely say I would choose Carl's over the other 2 in a second. I'm not a huge fan of fast food, I'm that person who inspects their food before they eat it and the look of fast food meat patties makes my stomach turn but with eyes closed I gave it another shot. It's a bit wet today so we just went through drive thru and sat in the car to eat it, we were in drive thru for 5 minutes max and the majority of the time was deciding what to get! I finally decided on the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and onion rings and the boy had the Famous Star with Cheese and Fries. The Western Bacon Cheeseburger is a beef burger with bacon, cheese, onion rings and a smokey BBQ sauce, I was a fan. I love the smokey BBQ sauce the downside was the bacon, it was too much fat for the amount of bacon. The Famous Star with Cheese is basically a Whopper with Cheese (in my opinion). It's a beef burger with tomato, onions, pickles, lettuce, mayo and tomato sauce. The boy thought it was pretty good, some may say better than a whopper the only downside was that it was very sloppy due to the sauce ratio. As for the fries vs onion rings, I'd always choose onion rings over fries any day! Overall we were happy with the experience for a fast food resturant however the greatest disappoint of all was that they didn't have Dr. Pepper!
