Holy health codes, Batman! One working sink between both the men's and women's bathrooms. No sign. The manager or maintenance guy went past at high speed with a handful of batteries when I complained about having to wash my hands in the men's room. One of the front desk employees told me they were having water pressure issues. No apologies or embarrassment there at all. Then, while sitting back by the bathrooms waiting on my ice cream, I can hear someone talking on a walkie about the sinks and how someone doesn't want to bother to fix them. Water pressure, my backside. Flat out, this is a health code issue. The edges of the round tables in the back dining area were visibly brown and sticky, like they had never been wiped down. I hear water running in the ladies room now, so I really really wonder why they were never fixed, and how clean the staffs hands are if it's been down long enough that they already have water pressure stories about it. YUCK. Ice cream was ok. I have to say, though, it was basically just vanilla ice cream in a cup, with a couple of toppings in it. Even though it was supposed to be filled with toppings. Pretty disappointing. The ladies room also smelled of sewer gas, which says that they have not put water down their floor drains recently. It made me wonder when it was last mopped. read more

honestly, really not that bad here anymore. I remember a time when this McDonald's was horrible but now it's pretty decent to go to. I mean yeah, sometimes it's slow, but it's a small town and sometimes not fully staffed. Thats not the employees fault, give them some grace. it's actually a lot faster to go through now then it was a few years ago. I was starting to order my food and all I hear in the back in profanity and yelling. As I pulled up to the restaurant one employee was smoking just outside the door so I had to wait till the smoke cleared. Sitting down near the window with rat fesis on it wasn't pleasant. This is actually our worst restaurant experience ever. We didn't get our tea and the burgers were room temperature, the cheese didn't melt and the buns were rock hard and also cold. I've worked food service for a long time and it is dangerous to serve food at the wrong temperature. This is an automated McDonalds, I don't see how they could get it that wrong. They will not come to the counter. When another customer came in they had to come to the counter and I told the manager our sandwiches were cold and we didn't get our drinks. She looked at me so nasty and refusing to answer me for so long the other customer said he was getting uncomfortable. She put our tea and refund on the counter, first she was only going to refund the sandwiches until we brought the fries back up, we were going to throw them away but she said no refund if we didn't bring them to the counter. So we did that, it wasn't fit to eat. And I was nice to her, I don't want a confrontation, we just wanted to eat dinner. She put the tea and money on the counter without telling us, we saw it on the way out after waiting quite a while. She was still in the back, we didn't see her put the items on the counter and she didn't tell us either. Without a doubt the most poorly managed McDonald's franchise I have personally visited. It's McDonald's. I'm not expecting a lot, and the food is what it is, but the staff here is an embarrassment. I have no idea the manager's or owner's level of hands on involvement but either it's too little or they simply don't care. I saw several Amish folks here (it's a heavily Amish area) walk out because these workers are yelling at each either with lots of colorful language the entire 15 minutes I was there. It sounded like a truck stop. I'm certainly not a prude, but it's pretty lowbrow, even for Lagrange. read more

Went through the drive through, asked me to pull up and had me wait 20 minutes in my car while 7 employees stood out front vaping, yelling obscenities, and calling each other faggots. I went inside to see more employees sitting around and so I went to the manager (who was methed out) and gave me my food that had been sitting on the counter. I am giving them one star because they have never messed up my breakfast order. Lunch and dinner is a different story. Look, it's the only drive thru in town so it's busy by default. But for the love of god do their employees give zero fu&@$ about their job. Your order WILL be wrong. They will forget something. If you special order something be prepared to go inside to get it fixed. If you have a big order, it's almost a promise that fries or burger will be missing. Especially happy meals. They have openly admitted to being in a hurry and just putting food in a bag hoping it will go unoticed. This is by far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Service has always been slow and food is always lacking but never bad enough to prompt me to write a review. My husband went through the drive thru this morning with a simple breakfast order. 2 egg McMuffins, 6 hash browns, 2 bagels with cheese, egg, and extra sauce only. After driving all the way home, we found that the bagels were made incorrectly and had no sauce and minimal cheese. So he drives back to get them corrected. He returns home, and finds them wrong again. (He should've looked at them before he left, but they should've been smart enough to follow the simple instructions.). This time one bagel had bacon and the other had some other odd looking meat on it. I am not a meat eater. If I wanted bacon or whatever, I would've ordered the bagels with meat in the first place. So I called the store to talk to a manager and she offered to have them remade. But I didn't feel like making a third trip up there. Theresa did offer us 2 free value meals, but I think we will just be skipping McDonald's in the future. This place needs to hire more competent employees/management. Maybe we'll all get lucky and the health department will shut them down again. On October 7, 2015 the LaGrange County Board of Health issued a closing order for the LaGrange,IN MacDonald's due to unsanitary conditions and other infractions. It not known at this time when they will be able to re-open. It is my understanding that this store is corporated owned, and not operated by a franchisee. According to local news reports, it was not the first time this location had been cited for similar infractions in the past. I don't go there anymore...in addition to poor quality food, I've seen too many wrong orders, dirty floors and tables, and long wait times. If you looking for a sit down eatery in Lagrange, there are a few decent mom & pop restaurants that are far better than McD's. If you are looking to eat on the go, the grocery store and a couple of the gas stations in town have deli hot cases where you'll get much better food faster.
