McDonald's at Annadale Water Services is a very useful location, especially with 24/7 opening hours, if you're looking for food while at Annadale Water Services, this is one of your few options. It is a franchise location, operated by Roadchef, which operates the motorway services as a whole.
As with any motorway services, you're going to be paying a little more here, my food cost around £0.50 more than most other McDonald's stores, a difference of little over 9%, which I wouldn't say is too bad.
Mobile ordering and rewards via the McDonald's app is supported, and my food was served at a good speed, with all modifications to my order made correctly.
I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese Medium Meal, served with medium fries and with a menu item that's exclusive to Scotland, IRN BRU.
I was disappointed with the presentation of my burger, despite not having a bun, they served it in the regular burger box, which made it squashed, messy and a little more difficult to eat, compared to the white tray that is normally used. Combined with the new paper knives and forks, that would bend as I tried to cut into the burger, made it all the more difficult to eat, although admittedly the latter is a UK-wide thing with McDonald's now sadly.
The food quality was fine, nothing too special but it was reasonably hot, and fit the bill of putting some food in my stomach until I arrived at my destination and was able to eat further.
I wasn't a big fan of the IRN-BRU, but I had to try it while in Scotland, and it is nice to see it included on the menu, due to the popularity here, compared to back home in England.
3* - Decent McDonald's as a last resort pit stop, very usefully located inside Annadale Services. read more
