The little booth spot looks like an absolute dream to post up and do homework! There are a lot of flavor options. Really, I'd be hard pressed to think of anything they don't have. I was originally going to get an Americano, but when I realized they had sweet cream, I asked for a sweet cream cold brew Starbucks dupe. They delivered! I probably would ask for a couple espresso shots next time- but the drinks were pretty inexpensive. So, it would still be solid with a little extra umph. It was also pretty noticeable that the shop was run by those who care about veterans, which is awesome. There were also Christian messages posted and the staff was nice to us even though we were visibly lgbtq. No issues, thank goodness! Overall, I'd pop in again. Super cute little spot that is really putting in the work to have drink options for everyone!

This trip I got a blueberry, a creme cheese and a Boston cream one. My favorite was the Boston cream, my least favorite was the cream cheese. We also got a glazed donut and a twist, both of these for the first time. The donut was better than you can get at the famous places. The twist was a cross between a donut and a cinnamon roll. Very good. There was a line when we arrived but it moved fairly quickly. There was only one person at the register, he was filling orders, answering the phone and taking payments, so not real friendly, but not rude. I noticed while we were walking that they have a good selection of other dishes other than sweet stuff. Tempted to try something different next time. We sat in the adjoining seating area that is shared with a sandwich shop. The seating area was clean and huge. No trouble finding a seat here. I am sure we will continue to stop here on every trip.

Where you just kinda went, ate, and left without a sense of satisfaction? That's this place. I've lived in Etown for 7 1/2 years and I've probably been to Christopher's four times--long enough between each visit to forget why it's been so long since I've eaten here. I had the 12 oz Ribeye, which was sooooooo good!! Medium well with just enough seasoning that I forgot I asked the waitress to leave the A1!! The baked potato, however, was bland and dry, but maybe that's my fault and I should have asked for additional butter. And I don't know WHY that coleslaw had the funky flavor it had, but it certainly didn't excite my tastebuds the way coleslaw usually does! It tasted like cardboard. I should have listened to that little voice in my head telling me to get the fries! Like I said, the steak was bomb, but the rest was buns. In the future, I hope I don't say to myself, "Gee, I haven't eaten at Christopher's in so long, I have forgotten what it's like. I better find out." Nothing outstanding about the service, but nothing to gripe about either. The three employees we interacted with were nice.

Writing The wine wasn't the worst part of the…read moreexperience--the owners were. From the moment we walked in, they came across as cold, arrogant, and completely uninterested in the people keeping their business open. No smile, no welcome, no warmth. Instead, the atmosphere felt tense, as if customers were an inconvenience rather than guests. Ironically, most of the staff were genuinely pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, that wasn't true of the family member working there, whose attitude was just as hostile. It seems the culture starts at the top, and it shows. The saddest part is that this area is full of wonderful wineries where you're treated like you're appreciated. Those owners are welcoming, personable, and grateful for your business. There's simply no reason to spend your time or money at a place where you're made to feel unwelcome. Great hospitality costs nothing. Sadly, it's something this winery seems unwilling to provide. We won't be back, and I'd encourage others to support the many nearby wineries that understand customer service and know how to make visitors feel welcome.

Toni, our server, was very nice and understanding when we told her the fish from the fish and chips order just wasn't very good. According to the eater, it was "too fishy tasting," and the texture was different than typical deep fried fish. My son-in-law had the steak tips, and he cleaned his plate, so I'm guessing they were good. I had the Po' Boy sandwich, the third one I've had in the last few weeks!! Mine was good, but instead of a hoagie-like bun, it came on hamburger buns, so not quite as big as I thought it'd be. Still pretty good, though! The sweet tater fries were excellent!

The restaurant was m pretty packed on arrival. There was only 1 clean booth open. There was a large table but it needed to be cleaned. We opted to wait for the table to be cleaned due to us being a party of 5. We were seated around 11:55am and given paper menus and silverware. The menu was a little dirty as it had spots on it. Around 12:03pm, waitress took order. They didn't have a kids menu available for breakfast. Waitress said it was pancakes and fries or fruit, I believe... The kids menu for lunch items is on the menu already. I got the pancake and 2 tenders with a side of home fries. After ordering, I noticed the use paper/plastic bowls and plates for the food of customers who were already eating. I thought this was definitely different. However, it is easy clean up. The food came at 12:25pm. One of my pancakes was over cooked on one side.. however, the home fries were delicious. I ended up getting a second pancake because I thought my order came with two, but it worked out since my first one crappy. The 2nd pancake was nice and golden! With the plastic plates.. they gave me a plate with sections for my pancake... that's not very conducive to cutting and eating a pancake. This restaurant definitely gives me diner vibes. I can tell it's a popular small town place that is often frequented by the locals. The service, in my opinion, was a little slow especially as it was not as busy once we were sat. I saw something about a hamburger, it was lunch time and I decided to take the detour into town and see if I can get something to go. Suddenly, I was in downtown Elizabethtown, and it was quite charming. A lot of times I go through the small North Carolina towns that used to thrive at one time but are now pretty much shut down and deserted. It was not the case with Elizabethtown. I saw coffee shops and boutiques and clothing stores and of course, Melvin's. When I first walked in, I got nervous because there was a long line and I was not in the mood to be waiting a long time to get a hamburger unless it's for White Castles. But let me tell you something, Melvin's got it worked out to a science. One person takes your order. One person makes your hamburger. One person puts the hamburger in the bag and the other person takes your money. I was in and out of there in less than 2 minutes. It cracked me up. The menu is quite limited. You can have a hamburger or a cheeseburger or a hot dog and that's it. You can't even get fries. You can get a bag of chips which is what I did and some random cookie for a dollar. I enjoyed getting in the car and having my lunch for the ride back home. The hamburger was good and so was the pric... less than five bucks. I got it all the way with coleslaw and ketchup and mustard. and chili Melvin's has been around forever, and it was clear that the locals love it. The line was long and the place was pretty full. People are in and out of there in a few minutes. So anyway, if you're on your way to the beach and on 87, grab a burger at Melvin's and keep the tradition going at Melvin's.
