Huge shoutout to Owner-turned-Mixology-Mastermind Jeff, who absolutely crushed it behind the bar -- every cocktail and mocktail was a handcrafted work of art that could hold court in any top-tier city. We're talking serious flavour fireworks here. And April -- what can we say? Her service made us feel like VIPs who owned the joint. She read the room, anticipated every move, and wrapped the whole evening in the kind of hospitality you can't teach: pure instinct, heart, and grace. The food? Next level. Every bite was a flex of flavor and presentation. The kitchen is clearly playing in its own league, balancing creativity with pure culinary muscle. Combine that with an ambience that feels like cozy meets cool, and you've got an absolute home run. If you haven't experienced Firehouse Grill yet, fix that immediately.

Mr Mikes Duncan - September 2…read more We had a really great meal at Mr Mikes in Duncan! I had the Skoocumchuk Chicken Burger with a Cascadia salad, and Rob had the Peppercorn Sirloin Pasta with garlic bread -- something he orders fairly often. Rob said this was honestly the best the pasta has ever been. It had just the right amount of sauce, wasn't too spicy, and was perfectly balanced. Sometimes it can be a little too saucy -- almost like soup -- but this time it was spot on! The garlic bread was also cooked perfectly and wasn't burnt, which we've unfortunately had happen in the past. My chicken burger and salad were great as well, and overall we were really happy with our meals. The only thing we noticed is that the restaurant itself could use a little TLC. Some of the wood panels are missing quite a bit of trim and a few areas are starting to look a little worn and in need of repair. Nothing that affected our meal, but definitely noticeable. Food-wise, though, this visit was a winner. Whoever was in the kitchen that night nailed that Peppercorn Sirloin Pasta!

It was a nice little pub that also made their own craft beer. They are located in Duncan. I was told before coming here their crispy chick sandwich is the best. We ordered a 2 appetizers to share: calamari and crispy buffalo chicken. I got a virgin lemonade and the crispy chicken sandwich. The food was good given the fact that it is located in a small town. I found the lemonade a bit watered down. It was quite tasteless or maybe it had too much ice. The calamari was very tasty. It wasn't like super crispy but you can tell that the calamari was very fresh. It was not chewy. The crispy buffalo chicken was super spicy. Good thing it had ranch on the side to dilute the spiciness. The chicken wasn't very crispy. The chicken was a bit dry. The chicken sandwich was ok. It wasn't wow wow. They did flattened the chicken before breading it in panko and then deep frying it. The chicken was more on the dry end. I liked how it was served very hot. So you know it was made upon order. I wished they added more sauce to the burger. They were generous on the cheese. The chicken was crispy and not oily. I had my burger with onion rings for an extra $2. They were very generous on the onion rings. They didn't have any special sauce for the onion rings. They served with ketchup. Most places served it with chipotle mayo. I would say food was more on the lower end of 3 and service was 4 stars. I believe Craig Street is one of the two bigger restaurants in the small downtown of Duncan. Good thing is that there are plenty of free parking everywhere. It is definitely a good meeting/hangout spot with friends.
