    Bone in my nuggets

There is a bone in my CHICKEN NUGGET for the SECOND TIME. The first time I brought it to their attention and nothing was done about it. I went back after some time thinking that it was a one time mistake, then I take a bite of my chicken nugget and there is ANOTHER bone. This is ridiculous !

Time and date of our visit.

Pulled up to the drive through menu screen and it was blank. Told the guy who was taking orders and he said we had to order something in order for the menu to actually show up! So we had to guess at what we wanted to order!! Guy was so rude and obnoxious! He actually laughed when we said never mind to the rest of our order. We told the lady at the window and she was nice about it.

McDonalds is open late, and has a 24 hour drive through. There are bugs, lots of bugs, a bug zapper over the drink station. The staff was great, the food was good. If you are here, it's after 10:00 PM and you are hungry, McDonald's is open for business.

This is from our line of site, food on tables, and floor.

Very slow service, recommend going inside or you'll be waiting for 20 minutes even when they're not busy, food is alright

Slowwwww. 15 .minutes for a sausage biscuit. And the organic apple juice was awful. But it was clean.

Anyway, on last summer's road trip or quest to visit all 50 US States, made a stop here for the evening to break up the drive. This was the only restaurant that my friend and could decided was worth trying. Not that the places are bad - we just didn't want bar/fast food. And it was fine. Everything was fine. Parking was easy. Main street. There was so many spaces because most everything was closed. Except the restaurants and theater. Place was busy. Not so busy there was a wait but enough that it was a little on the loud side. Service was standard - I wouldn't say it wasn't friendly or attentive - everything was handled smooth and quickly. Just not a lot of chit chat and didn't really need much as far as refills or condiments go. Food was ok too. Huge portions. See pics. Friend and I split the shrimp fajitas and I devoured the chips and salsa. I did have to ask for a hotter version as the "house" salsa is perfect for those who can't handle the heat. Also wanted to mention, the frozen margarita was nice and boozy. Not overly - but enough that you could taste the tequila and it lingers for a little while. As for the main dish, good. Standard - and this is coming from someone who lives in SoCal. Don't know if I would ever be back in Chadron but if you're on the road and in need of some decent Mexican in NE - it's not bad. Not bad at all.

That was me when I found myself rolling through Crawford, Nebraska and saw the sign for C's Drive in. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised with my overall experience here. The couple who owns and operates the place are exceptionally friendly and are doing classic grease-pit burgers/fries/milkshakes etc but with a notably personal touch. I spent some time talking to them as the place wasn't busy when I arrived, and I can tell you that they are working hard and paying close attention to the food that they're serving. No cut corners, just a couple of people who understand the value of serving good food as a way to make a restaurant succeed. They are passionate. I learned about the way they source the curds for their cheese curds and how they batter and fry them to perfection. I learned about the quality of their beef for the burger patties and how they tried a few combinations before deciding on what they use, (which is delicious), I learned about broasted chicken which is a way that chicken is prepared that leads to a fantastic outcome, (think fried chicken, but more crispy, never dry and loaded with juices). I feel like I can say with confidence that if you stop here and place an order, that the person preparing it will be taking their time and paying attention in order to serve you something that they can be proud of. Classic menu, exceptional execution. Don't second guess it. I had a double bacon cheeseburger, hand cut curly fries and the cheese curds because they sounded so appealing. Would order it all again. Still thinking about those cheese curds every day. All in all this is place is a great example of how good simple things can be when the people behind them show up and care about what they're doing. If you're in the area do not second guess it. The prices are right, the food is pure comfort, and you will leave kind of shocked at the overall quality and value of the place. 5 stars.
