The guy (manager?) is a horrible communicator and was completely unapologetic even for the messy interior maintenance after re-installing the cabin filter. I know that the days are gone for $24.99 oil changes that included wiper fluid fill-up, vacuuming the seats & carpet, cleaning all the windows and checking/topping off most fluids. But feeling "taken" - and - taking away all the amenities and charging so much more for mediocre service - especially while sitting in the messy, grimy & cramped waiting area is not worth the price at any cost.

I had many people try and nothing. The dealer wanted $175 to get it done as they said the bumper would have to be removed. I went to Warren's, and he personally got it off in under a minute and didn't charge me a dime for the service only $10 for the rust proof screws. Top that!! I won't go anywhere else to service my car. He also replaced my engine for a fraction of the price of others, and it is out on the road in great condition to this day as my kid's car. Because let's rewind to the last time I was here getting an oil change (about 5,000 miles ago). At that time I noticed that the exterior of my old oil filter was looking very dirty after getting it changed (weird). I'll just have to really keep track of it the next time I come in for an oil change. Fast forward to today I went in and first the guy was about to put regular "fresh" oil. I stopped the guy and asked him that I was getting full synthetic oil. Which if they are "professionals" they should know what car uses a certain type of oil. First strike. As they began with the oil change I asked the guy, You guys are changing the oil filter? The guy there told me yes. I paid and went home. I get home, I remember to check the oil filter from inside my engine bay to make sure it is a fresh new oil filter. And bam they didn't touch the oil filter, strike 2. At this time I was furious! I got back on my car (with many thoughts in my head), went and confronted the older guy that has always been there don't know his name. I complaint to him that my filter was not replaced. He apologized and stopped whatever he was doing and replaced it out in front of their shop with a new filter that he had opened. At home now I was thinking how long have they been doing this not replacing the oil filter. Also I'm probably not the only one that they have done this to. I take my wife's car there too. So yeah I won't be going back there in the future. I'm now doing my oil change in my garage on my two vehicles. They lost a long time customer. I have been going there for over 20 years. That type of deception is not good for a business. I felt betrayed. This is my experience. I know many female drivers go there too. I asked my wife would you have inspected their work, she said most likely not. I'm sure a lot of drivers don't bother to inspect Pit Pros work. Just yesterday they practically steered me away from a national muffler chain (Midas Evanston) to a great choice. G&G doesnt do muffler work, so Phet right away recommended the superb little Mufflers4Less in Rogers Park. Midas written estimate: $1433.32 for every imaginable exhaust part + labor. Mufflers4Less: I paid $180 total to replace and secure the rusted-out pipe on both sides of a perfectly good resonator and muffler -- all that was needed and done in 30 minutes. So G&G aren't just the best. The know the best too!

I took my car to this shop after my airbag was stolen because they were one of the few places open…read moreon a Saturday that claimed they could handle the repair. They had decent reviews online, so I gave them a chance. Unfortunately, this turned into one of the worst repair experiences I've ever had. Right away, Sunny tried convincing me to include unrelated scratches and dents in the insurance claim and suggested I tell insurance they were caused by the vandalism. I refused and only authorized repairs related to the theft. The shop has signs everywhere about $175/day storage fees. When I specifically asked about them at drop-off, I was told no storage fees would apply because my car was being repaired. That turned out to be false. What they don't clearly tell you is that they may start charging storage fees while waiting for parts, even when delays are outside your control. In my case, they knew from day one that airbags were on backorder due to widespread thefts and recalls. Despite that, they later claimed they "had no idea" parts would take so long and suddenly tried billing over $4,000 in storage fees. At no point did they notify me that storage charges had started accumulating. I only found out after they tried billing my insurance company. When insurance refused to pay, the shop told me I would have to pay and "maybe" get reimbursed later. Communication was terrible throughout the process. I constantly had to chase them for updates through ignored texts and repeated phone calls. I dealt mostly with Sunny and AJ, but neither seemed to know the full status of my repairs. The final straw was when they claimed my car needed dealership recalibration after the airbag replacement because dashboard warning lights were on. They insisted this was absolutely necessary and said the dealership quote was around $1,250. They even texted me saying my car had already been dropped off at the dealership. Three days later, after I followed up again, I learned they had never actually taken the car there. Suddenly the quote had "changed" and they were supposedly calling around for better prices. None of this was communicated proactively. At that point, I picked up my car because I no longer trusted them. They tried hard to convince me not to take it, saying the vehicle was unsafe to drive because of the warning lights. They also refused to release the car unless I paid several days of storage fees. Ironically, less than five minutes after leaving the shop, every warning light on my dashboard turned off. I then contacted multiple dealerships myself and physically brought the car to two. Every dealership told me the airbag module did NOT need recalibration. So this shop was attempting to keep my car longer and push insurance to approve a repair that apparently wasn't even necessary. To make matters worse, the detailing work my insurance paid for was sloppy. There was still glass inside the vehicle after pickup, and they tried charging insurance to replace an interior door panel for "water staining" instead of simply cleaning it. I cleaned it myself. Bottom line: avoid this shop if you value transparency, communication, or honesty. My experience involved constant delays, poor communication, and threats of excessive storage fees while they tried to maximize insurance payouts.

Nothing more, nothing less. When I arrived at my slotted appointment time, Edgar greeted me after about 1.5 minutes standing at the counter. He was professional and friendly. I told him that I wanted a synthetic blend oil change with a tire rotation. He checked me in, and verified my appointment information. He was upfront about what the oil change & TR would cost me, along with a diagnostic check of my car. I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu. I purchased the car in July of 2018. My fathers close friend (mechanic) usually does the maintenance but I wanted to also have another place to go to that I could trust. After about 50 minutes - which he told me it would take about that time, he came back and asked me to come talk about my car. He safely escorted me through the shop and told me 4 things: 1 . I needed an Engine Filter replacement 2. my tire tread was a bit irregular and I should have them re-aligned 3. I also needed a cabin air filter replacement 4. My right windshield wiper needed replacing All four of those items my father told me I should expect to hear and approximate pricing for each. I was EXTREMELY pleased with his candor, his price comparison, and kindness. I will be going back to Midas - Dempster St. next Friday to have the remaining 4 items taken care of. I was a little disappointed when they didn't replace 100% everything, and we weren't told it wouldn't be replaced until after we already finished the repairs and noticed the difference. That was pretty disappointing and I think should've been pointed out before deciding to have them fix the car, since we could've gone elsewhere that the insurance company provided.
