Baseball field, bleachers, and large grassy area!

Big grassy area perfect for social-distanced chillin!! We picked up some pizza in the area and we wanted a spot to chill and eat it. I stumbled across this little park and I have no regrets! There was plenty of street parking. We found some up 24th Ave., on the corner of Santiago St. There were a lot of police cars parked on 24th and we noticed there's a police station right next to this park. When we approached the park, we were at the top hill of the park. There is a large grass area here and a baseball diamond. We found the grassy area to be perfect to enjoy our pizza lol (aka priority #1!). Then, I needed to use the restroom! I found there are multiple paths to walk to the next level down. Looking down, I saw two playground areas, a half basketball court, a tennis court, and then around the corner from a Montessori school (on the 24th Ave side of the park), I found open restrooms available! In the women's, there was only one stall. It was ok- not supreme clean but not the dirtiest. Overall, I was very comfy on the grass area up top! There were plenty of other grassy areas to chill on at this park and it's not super crowded/popular- making it a relaxing spot to chill! :)

I recently went to Parkside. This neighborhood has more parks per capita than any other neighborhood in San Francisco. McCoppin Square park is a nice green haven conveniently served by the L MUNI line as the park is a mere 100 feet from 23rd & Taraval St where the L MUNI line drops you off. The park is also right next to the Parkside Branch library. There is a half court for basketball & adjacent to it is a tennis court. There is a children's playground for children 2 to 5 years old as there are swings, a fort, & a slide for them to play on. There are lots of big trees & saw some friendly folk walking their dogs. There is also a playground for bigger kids w/ swings, climbing apparatuses, & picnic tables to enjoy a meal. There is a hill that you can walk up past all the big trees & you will find a baseball diamond complete w/ bleachers. Behind the baseball diamond is Abraham Lincoln High School & from the baseball diamond you can see the football field where Abraham Lincoln High School plays their games. The most unusual features of the park were painted lines to play four square & also painted lines to play hop scotch. Such a cool park & all that is needed is a carousel. Could definitely feel the calm of this green oasis in the city & is a boon to the Parkside neighborhood!

McCoppin Square is basically the village green of the Parkside district. Home to the Parkside Library (side note on the Library renovation project: why oh why didn't they start with the Parkside branch? It needs it more than any other branch I've seen), a baseball diamond, tennis court, playground, and just some nice grass and trees for walking your dog around. No doubt this is a great asset for the neighborhood, but not much here for non-locals, and definitely not a "walk in the park" kind of park--it's pretty small (roughly 4 small square blocks) and most of the space is taken up by the various facilities.

Very nice spot for a recreation area with building on the Northwest corner on Taraval St and 22nd Ave. Abraham Lincoln High School is one block up from here. Overall, excellent spot for outdoor recreation time.

This is where the Parkside Bookmobile used for their restroom. They urinated at the corner of 24th and Santiago. These are public servants that were publicly urinating wherever they wanted. Thank goodness they are gone.

This is a clean and pleasant playground...maybe because it's close to the police station? I don't know but I sure feel safe. Kid friendly, dog friendly, elderly friendly...caters to almost everybody. Softball field, tennis courts and basketball courts.. ample tables and benches to sit down to enjoy the pretty flowers and landscaping and paths to take a stroll with your pup. When your little ones have drained off all their energy in the playground.. walk a few steps to the library for some quiet reading time and have them knock out in your lap...at least that's what I do ;)

Great for 2 to 4 year olds. Have an enclosed and new playground for them.

See only high school kids never children playing.

My sister and I arrived before 8am at the Watershed parking lot and barely found a space. We did the trail that took us to the West Point Inn for the pancake breakfast and round trip was close to 5 miles so it was a great workout. There's gorgeous views and well! On the way back to the 101 however it's a mess. The road on the way down is crowded with parked cars, which makes driving through challenging. That's the only thing about this park, other than that I'd love to come back in spring when everything is green and vibrant!

Ever since then, I've wanted to hike this peak, today I have achieved my wish. Early June with mild coastal temp, 50s-60s. Started up Matt Davis Trail in the foggy forest, to Pantoll Campground, to West Point Inn where we can look down to the top of the fog layer, to the Fire Lookout building at the Peak. Then we came down reverse but split off to Steep Ravine and Dip Sea trail after the campground. I've also always wanted to climb that ladder. This hike provided views of the Pacific ocean on the West as well as views of Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on the East side. I thoroughly enjoyed the cool lush forest, but actually my favorite section was the single track along the slope of the open area after the Mt Tam State Park sign.

Let's also close down the streets from cars one day a week in the Summer so people can ride their bikes, skate, rollerblade, play and dance in the streets! How about on some warm weekend days we put huge concerts there that fill the grass for as far as the eye can see so people can bring all their friends to enjoy food, drinks, and music together. And the lake... let's make it so people can rent boats, and if they don't or can't row, they can peddle so they, too, can enjoy the waterfall and life on the lake! Let's also have beautiful statues around the park, definitely a Shakespeare Garden, and let's throw in something for garden lovers, like a Botanical Garden (a big one) and a Conservatory of Flowers. For more culture, let's add a Japanese Tea Garden with more lakes and flowers, and even a bridge in the shape of a circle. Let's also make this accessible to everyone, so some days, the museums are free (ie, usually once a month). And some entrance fees are lower for locals. (Check the websites.) Aaaaaand this is Golden Gate Park, and this is my favorite park in California, if not the entire country.

We really enjoy coming to Lafayette Park Playground this morning for an early Easter egg hunting…read moreevent--it's quite unique compared to other playgrounds in the city. The layout is more challenging and perfect for little explorers who love to climb, balance, and stay active. My 3-year-old always finds something new to do, and it keeps them engaged for a long time. I also appreciate that babies aren't left out--there are designated areas where younger kids can safely play too. The restroom is conveniently located and clean, which is a big plus for families. That said, some of the rocky edges can be a bit risky for adventurous kids, so it's definitely a place where you'll want to keep a close eye on them at all times. The only downside is parking--it can be pretty tough to find a spot, especially during busy times. Overall, it's a fun and exciting playground that's great for kids of different ages, as long as you're prepared for a bit of supervision and a parking hunt!

There is a rather large and modern kids playground and even more large grassy areas, both for those who want to lounge and for the dogs that want to run around. Overall, Lafayette Park is yet another gem that makes San Francisco special.
