They sell some brand names and as well as off brand. It's like a treasure hunt! If you find a good bargain grab it because it may not be there the next time you go. Be aware you need to check the expiration dates of food items before you buy. There is a fresh produce, cheese and meats sections. Also a ton of frozen and canned goods, paper products and the like. The store is generally clean and organized. Will continue to stop there whenever I am in the area.

What I like about this Walmart vs. the Bloomsburg Walmart, is this store seems to have a better and more frequently restocked selection of items. The selection of items in the freezer section stands out. Where this Walmart loses out is due to being in a high theft area, a significant number of items are behind glass or locked up in some form. If a store does this, they need to have employees available at all times to come and get the items unlocked. This store does not seem to have those employees in the evenings to pull this off based on the roughly 10 minutes wait I had on a Friday evening. I left without the item. The self-checkout systems here are not as user friendly as other's I've seen, and the area to use them is constrained in space on the grocery side. This is also probably due to theft issues. Overall, I do like coming to this Walmart despite it being out of my way for the better selection compared to the Bloomsburg store.

The best way I can describe Unkel Joe's is the kind of "general store" that is nearly non-existent these days. Unkel Joe's doesn't carry food (I think) but has all kinds of other interesting stuff: kitchen items, general housewares, fishing equipment, holiday decorations, model railroad supplies, and all kinds of other stuff. Prices are reasonable and everything I've bought there has been of good quality. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. If you're in the Lock Haven area you should definitely stop into Unkel Joe's for a unique and fun experience.

You can do all of your shopping here including your grocery shopping. You can also order your groceries online and then they bring it out to you car. You can buy other things and then come in and get it or they will bring it to you. They have a nice size electronics department. The only big downside to here is when it rains their roof tends to leak. But it is nicely lit with lights and natural sunlight.

There is a Boscovs, TJ MAXX, Hobby Lobby, Old Navy, Planet Fitness, Encore Shoe Department, Gertrude Hawk, Bath and Body Works, and a smattering of others. There is an Italian restaurant that smells amazing, I would have loved to try it, but I wasn't hungry. The mall was much more lively than I remembered in the past. In the past it was reminiscent of the dying terminally ill Coventry Mall. I wasn't loving the TJ MAXX and I'm not a fan of Old Navy so I didn't bother even going in there. I love Hobby Lobby, but since I went on a Sunday- it wasn't open. If you are looking to kill time, I recommend it! Definitely not a destination place. So now when we buy something at Rural King, we not only pay a price on goods which includes operating expenses, and company profit, but we get charged extra to pay for some future non existent store at some unknown location which may or may not ever open and that we will never shop in. This is a really cute store, but is big enough to have lots of departments. It reminds me of the Woolworth's stores that I remember as a kid. It's big, no doubt, and has lots of items, but it does not have that impersonal, corporate feel of a super Wal-Mart. There are real people at the counter, who have real things to say (not off a script) and who are actually nice. They have toys, housewares, arts and crafts (which comprises a fairly large section of the store), small appliances, and even a 'dollar store' section in the back. And, prices are pretty low, which is surprising. Beiter's may be a chain in the PA area (I think there is more than one store) but it has not lost that real American feel of a good ole general store. Stop by next time you need something and don't want to wait on line, you'll be glad you did.
