My footing was unstable and I couldn't drive. Since the diagnosis was that it was a nerve problem, I consulted with Dr. Gong. She said it was an unusual problem and made no promises, but said that she would be willing to give it a try. After nine appointments with Dr. Gong between late April and early June, the double vision disappeared. When Dr. Gong started her treatments, we decided she should work on two other problems also. First, in Sept. 2006 I had torn a ligament in my right ankle. I had gone to an orthopedist and physical therapist at the time and done the exercises they recommended. The ankle improved, but never felt quite right. Since Dr. Gong has been treating the ankle, it has noticeably improved. Second, in July 2023 I was diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck that caused considerable pain around my left shoulder blade and discomfort down my left arm to my hand. I had three months of physical therapy and took Gabopentin for 2 1/2 years. The shoulder blade pain went away and the arm discomfort lessened, but residual discomfort remained in my left forearm and index finger and thumb. I left on my second visit frustrated and embarrassed…read more I am a health care provider at one of the two big hospitals in the area so I am educated on how insurances work and how most medications have side effects. I was interested in western medicine and what it could offer so I payed a visit to this business. My job is stressful and I had put on alittle weight in the past year that I wasn't happy about. I joined a gym but I though this might help too. The first visit I told her my concerns and she told me it could be a result of side effects of the meds I was on which I already knew. She told me that she would figure out a plan and find out if my insurance worked with her services. They were supposed to call me on a Monday to tell me if my insurance worked before I went to the visit on thuesday. I called them at the end of the day Monday and they told me my insurance doesn't work with them. I went to my second visit anyway to see if we could work out a payment plan. I got changed she came in and told me " I have some bad news" the news was my insurance doesn't work with her service. I already knew that. She told me that she wanted to see me 10 times at 80 dollars a pop. I wasn't able to come up with 800 dollars right then and there but I would have been able to work on a payment plan. She then made me feel like since I couldn't pay right then that I wasn't ever going to be able to afford her services. which I found to be very rude. She then told me that I would need nothing less then 10 visits back to back because I figured that if she doesn't intervene that I could "probably" gain another 25 lbs in the next few months. REALY! so to end this she was assuming that I was BROKE and that I was FAT and was getting fatter by the minute. my thoughts are that she was upset my insurance didn't work out because she could have charged the insurance a greater rate then what she would get from an individual. He was always interrupting, telling stories and laughing at his own jokes. This guy did a pom pom cheer for me once when I did something outside my comfort zone. I am 40. That was humiliating and invalidating. He compared my experiences to other clients that he had. For example when I tried to talk a bout my anxiety issues he would tell me a story about another client who had anxiety and what it was about and how he helped her. Great. Except her anxieties were not the same as my anxieties. Anxiety isn't just the same across the board. People experience anxiety for many many different reasons. I could have overlooked that except he told me the story of this client like 4 or 5 times as if it was the very first time I was hearing it and again it had nothing to do with my personal experience. I could not listen to this man tell me that story one more time in an attempt to pretend he understood what I was talking about. Very nice guy overall but just wow.
