I just paid $155 for a color that is not even what I picked. It's no difference to what I already had. I picked a red brown color. I went in with dark brown. And then she blamed it on my dark color, that's why it didn't pick my color up. read more

Lily is fantastic and is the go to for me! It's always a relaxing time. Glad that I've found her and this location.

I had a blow dry appointment for long hair. When I got there I asked the lady if I should do blow dry or curls since I have long straight hair. I told her my hair doesn't hold curls. She said clearly 'it will hold.' It took an hour and I was charged 65$. I left the place at 1 with dozen pins in my curls to hold them in place. I opened the pins at 2:30 and I got to the event at 3. Within those 30 mins my hair had maybe 2 curls left and within an hour my hair was completely straight. I didn't even have waves. It was extremely disappointing. I straighten hair at home. I should've just stuck to that. Waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this place or go back. Attaching pictures for reference. Pros: lady was nice, place was clean read more

Loved my cut and color, Carolina did a fabulous job w my ash color partial balayage. No brassy tones and the haircut added a much needed update to my very boring hair. Prices are pretty reasonable compared to what you would pay elsewhere. They use Aveda products which smell great and the wash and head massage was super relaxing for me. Open on Sundays. read more

I've never had a haircut that left me in tears. I was so excited to try out MC because it's close to me and looked promising. My stylist washed my hair before my cut and come to find out there is an up charge for it... Which is so misleading. I brought in a picture of the cut I was lookin for and talked it out with the stylist, I felt we were on the same page. I wanted a longer bob and ended up with a bowl cut that was so much shorter than I wanted - I wanted to cry when I saw what the back looked like. To make matters worse I was charged $45 when I was only expecting $25... The woman who took my payment was kind enough to take off the charge for the wash, however I still felt very misled in their pricing. And, incredibly saddened by how my hair looks right now... I will definitely not be coming here again. read more

I when in to get a shaggy layered shoulder length cut. The hair cut was not what I wanted in the end. I have no idea what she did I am going to another salon to get it fixed. Red flag # 1 empty salon on Friday afternoon June 30 just before holiday weekend. Red flag # 2 she asked if I want my hair washed? I am old school a place where hair washing is standard before a cut. She began washing my hair with cold water. I am not a plant, I do not want to to spray water bottle my hair then cut. Red flag # 3 she said " I think I know what you want " after I showed her the picture of what I wanted. ( I just woke up from a nap, I should of left) Red flag # 4 " oh you want me to blow dry it ?" (after the cut). What I wanted to leave with wet hair? Red flag # 5 " oh you want me to style it ? I guess I could show you how to style it". Red flag #6 she never told me her name. She has braces and brown hair and scaring on her arm from star tattoo removal. Customers usually want wash, cut dry, and style if all of these services are charges separate tell the customer cus us old school peeps 50+ are just learing this is a the "new way". And giving me an attitude cus I do not know is beyond me. I did not even want to leave a 15% tip. I usually give 25%. She deserved zero. I came in happy in a pretty sundress my new pretty lipstick happy ready to have my hair done and left sad. read more

I took my 7 year old sister to get her shampooed and straightened, and I couldn't be happier with the service here. The lady who did her hair was very gentle, but worked quickly. She did a good job with straightening her hair although once we got home we realized there was still as small section in the back that was left curly. She used very little product to get the job done, which I appreciate and also told us about the product she did use. Overall, a lovely experience. We will definitely be back. read more

This is a great salon. I've had my highlights done here twice now. Carolina took her time consulting me then got the color spot on as I asked for. It's the nearest salon to my house so I'm glad I found it. The cuts are good too and it's friendly there. read more

This is not a place you should go to if you have curly hair! I have extremely curly hair and have the usual struggles when finding a decent hair salon. But I have never experienced anything this bad. I have spent a lot of time growing out my curls so I went in for a trim. My hair went down to my lower back when straightened. My hair was washed (in a rushed manner) and she began cutting my hair. Afterwards, she straightened my hair and probably realized it wasn't even so she cut off even more. My hair ended up being to my shoulders after it was straight! I should also mention my tangles were roughly dealt with, and I was burnt by the straightener. Im sure do they do a great job if your hair is naturally easy to deal with, and they were all kind, but I was extremely disappointed. read more

This place is awful. I have been going to Aveda salons for almost 15 years. I've never had an experience this bad. She cut my hair way too short. Then she only blow dried two sections and just left the rest. This is the worst service I've ever had. I think the days when I had a $2.99 haircut was better than this read more

If you care about service, try another place. I had a 530 appointment and when I reached the place, the stylist was cutting someone else's hair. She completely ignored me, my appointment and didn't bother to apologize for having me sit and wait for 20 minutes. I eventually left and plan never to return. This would have been a second cut for me here. They just lost a returning customer. read more

Carolina has been doing my hair for many years. 4 years ago I moved to Austin and would have her do my hair when I came to town. I was thrilled when she opened MC Hair Studios. She is such a pro with color. Everytime I leave with a fresh cut and highlights I feel beautiful. She's the best!!!! read more

I just got my haircut with Gina and she did such beautiful work on my hair! I had it so long and needed a haircut badly but I was unsure of what to do with it. I told her that I did not want very short hair but I needed something! She helped and told me what would look good and how I could still keep my hair long but not too long.... We all know that dreadful feeling of will it be cut too short... Nope she did exactly what she said, she gave me the perfect length and added volume with layers. First time here but not the last! Thank you MC hair studio for also taking me in as a walk in! read more

My 3 year daughter and I went in for haircuts and I was pleasantly surprised at how great both of our haircuts turned out.

This is a very nice hair salon that has opened up close to the Aliana neighborhood in Richmond, TX. I was very impressed with the quality of the Aveda products used for hair color/ highlights. Unlike most products that tend to irritate my scalp, the Aveda line of products that they use here are very gentle and non-irritating. Overall, the staff was very accommodating when I requested an appointment for the next day and super friendly. The ladies are very knowledgeable and experienced. I highly recommend their services and salon. I got my haircut and color done by Gina and she was wonderful!! She really listened to what I wanted and the results were fabulous! read more

Gigi did my hair and makeup for a small wedding event and she did just a wonderful job. I have been coming to this salon since it opened and love how Carolina does my hair. I recently began seeing Gina Gregory for my facials, brow tinting. Today Gina did a makeover and false lashes and I absolutely love what she did! I also love what a perfectionist she is! She is a true makeup artist and very talented! Next on the list for me? Brow tattooing! I have complete confidence in her! read more

DONT go here for a haircut, asked for layers and curtain bangs and the lady who did my hair did such a bad job, had to go the next day to see if they could fix it but she just made it worse and it looks like i have a mullet and she thinned my hair so much. So upset i am crying! read more

I liked my haircut, but only because it wasn't a complicated cut. There's an additional cost for shampoo which I don't understand, and after she finished cutting my hair she didn't even blow dry it and expected me to be satisfied walking out with wet hair..? I've never had that experience before. There are much better places read more

Carolina is an artist! She is a really sweet person too. This is a great place to go for hair care. I keep bringing everyone in my family!

Don't come here. The lady on the phone told me certain prices and when I showed up she completely scammed me and told me it's actually a higher price AND made me pay the higher price. I wouldn't have minded paying more for a haircut but I think it's pretty unethical and low to tell customers prices then raise them when they show up in store. No integrity. read more

Go see Carolina! She is amazing! I came here on a whim 4 months ago and Carolina stayed open just to cut my hair. She is very good, attentive and professional! She has longer hours than most hair salons, great for those who work! Bonus, this salon uses Aveda products! read more

Very disappointed by the service. The lady who gave me haircut didn't understand anything I told her. I only asked for a 1 inch trim and face framing but she cut 5 inches of my hair, the cut was uneven and looks so choppy. I will never go back again. read more

Deceptive pricing, great haircut. I was charged double what I was quoted! I called to get a quote on a haircut and shampoo. I was told $25 for the cut plus $8 for the shampoo. Or, I could do a cut + style which would include a shampoo for $40. I scheduled with the receptionist for a haircut + shampoo and came in an hour after that. When I arrived Gina met me and asked what I wanted, and replied a haircut and shampoo. I never asked to have my hair styled. After she washed and cut it, she said she likes to dry the hair to see what it looks like dry so she could finish the cut. I didn't think anything of it. When she was done, my hair looked amazing. I was very pleased with the work she did. Thank you Gina! However, when I checked out I was SHOCKED that my bill was $65! Carolina was the one checking me out, so I explained to her that I had only expected to pay $33. Instead of offering to adjust the bill or work with me, she defended the charge and said that not only should I be charged for the style, but that I had to be charged extra for medium length hair and a little extra for long hair. I didn't know what else to do but pay and leave. I was so sad this happened. I had been calling multiple hair studios for pricing because I am on a serious budget. I really wanted to get a cut and shampoo (as a new mom for the 3rd time I was wanting a little bit of pampering). Because Carolina used to do my hair when she worked at TGF in New Territory, I decided to bite the bullet and pay a bit more for a really nice cut at MC Hair Studio. I was wiling to pay $33. I WAS NOT wanting a $65 bill. If I had known I was going to be charged that much, I would have NEVER gone there. I have a very small budget to spend on myself and my hair care, and I was very disappointed this happened. What would have happened if I got a really expensive service like highlights? read more
