4 stars for a no holds barred food truck festival extraordinaire!…read more 40 gourmet food trucks from all over Florida set up shop at Top Rocker Field for a feast of yumminess. From latin american, to bbq, to fresh new engalnd lobster, and the ever popular gourmet burger...you would not be wanting for any type of cuisine. Free admission, so inside was jam-packed with insane lines at each truck. Clearly they were at and maybe beyond crowd capacity. Way too many people and it was so hot out. In fact, saw a few EMS situations going on. Yikes! So we decided to divide and conquer two lines since we knew we would be waiting forever at any one. Ended up waiting 45 minutes in line, but it wasn't for lack of effort of the staff. You could tell each food truck was working hard for their money. The wait was definitely a bit over the top, but thankfully the food was totally worth it! It was great that the food trucks accepted cash and credit. Most dishes were $10 or under for very hearty servings. You needed to buy drink tix for beers, but that was as expected to best monitor any under age drinking. Parking was a pain, as we had to park almost a mile away from the venue. Ughhh! So glad I wore my walking shoes! Luckily, we walked in without a wait, but by the time we left there was a line wrapping out into the parking lot. There was some fun live music playing and a cute little kids entertainment area (music therapy section, face painting, and the oh so popular bounce houses). While the food was unreal, it was just way too crowded! I would have given it a definite 5 had they managed the crowds better. Hopefully, they figure out a better plan for the next time.

There was supposed to be off-site parking, with shuttle bus service to the venue. However,…read moredirections to off-site parking weren't posted as we approached Six Bends. It seems the people directing vehicle traffic weren't really coordinated, allowing cars to enter full and dead end parking lots. Could even see the shuttle bus stuck in all this. Was about to leave with all the grid lock, but someone pulled out. As other people who posted have said, the food choices were good. My favorite was the gyro/souvlaki/kebab truck. I got here at 2PM and some of the food trucks were already sold out. This made the lines at the remaining trucks unbearably long. The organizers could also get in a little more diversity next year. We can get Cuban sandwiches and boiled hot dogs anytime we want in SWFL. How about bringing in a falafel or banh mi truck from Tampa/St. Pete ?

We were able to get individual tickets online but still make note that we wanted to sit together, and that all worked out really well. The tickets are expensive (makes sense...you're getting a show, a 5-course meal, and riding a train) and being able to buy separately was really helpful for us. Everything the night of the event ran like clockwork. Boarding the train was easy and fun. We had a table in the Gasparilla train car with lovely servers who took care of us all night. Drinks are pretty reasonable (ice tea and water are included, but you can purchase soda, beer, wine, cocktails) and you can even get a full bottle of wine for your table which you can take home if you don't finish onboard. The meal was better than I expected. It started with a fruit and cheese plate, then we had hot pretzel rolls an butter, a delicious potato leek soup, a salad, and then the appetizer. Our choices were prime rib (friends said it was delicious), chicken francese (I loved it) and salmon. Dessert was a cheesecake. The performers were very animated and enthusiastic. These murder mystery shows are always hard for me to actually follow and figure out. I appreciate all that goes into it, but I wish I was a better sleuth. My only issue is that the train ride itself is VERY long at 3 - 3.5 hours. I love a nice train ride, but I wonder if they could shave a little time off the ride.

The food was fair, had the salmon, husband had the prime rib.. salad was sparse. The wait-staff/…read moregirls worked very hard but service was slow. I'm empathetic on "the construction" of service from one cart to another. Suggest putting kitchen/food cart in the middle!! All things considered, there "system " worked. Pretty incredible actually; the Valentines Train was Packed. Loved the Actors and Actresses, they were quite good! Ambiance was pleasant... Train ride was long but had a fun time. Once again...well done weight staff, sure did work it!! Lovely little show.

His passion, knowledge, and deep respect for the Everglades were evident from the very beginning, and it truly elevated the entire experience. We saw alligators, crocodiles and a wide variety of other animals up close while learning fascinating details about their behaviors, habitats, and the importance of conservation. The owner took his time explaining everything, answering questions, and making sure everyone felt safe and engaged throughout the tour. The experience was well organized, educational, and incredibly exciting for all. You can tell this is not just a business, but a true labor of love. If you're looking for an authentic, unforgettable Everglades wildlife experience led by someone who genuinely cares about the animals and the environment, Everglades Adventure is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

Bryce picked us up from the wrong dock (we had trouble finding the right one) and happily led us to the boat and offered us water and ear protection. He gave us a short safety talk, and helped manage our expectations of seeing gator since it was 96 degrees at 2pm in August. Gators do not like the heat that hot. Bryce was surprised to see a lot of gators on our tour and we had a really great experience we will never forget. He showed us all kinds of sights and I didnt see a single mosquito or snake.

I love that it's all under a roof. Some shops even have AC. You'll find the junkiest junk and the nicest of the nice! The shop keepers seem to stand by their posted prices. My experience was there's not a lot of negotiation room. If you pay with cash, they usually skip the tax but that's about it. Now having said this, I was buying from the 'nicest of the nice', brand new purses, clothes and accessories. Parking is free and abundant. Expect large pot holes in the parking lot. IMPORTANT ADVICE: pay attention to where you came in! It is easy to lose your way and you will spend a frustratingly long time trying to find your car if you don't make mental note of your arrival 'gate'. There's colored lines on the ground. If there's a shop you particularly like, ask for their business card...it'll have their 'address' on it which shows the color of their row and the shop number. MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: ladies, if you like boutique style clothes, look for Designs by Darlene. Red row. Her clothes are off the charts!!! Unique. Well priced. And she has changing rooms. Highly recommend!

The estates have a large, free parking lot, and admission for the self-guided tour is $28 per person (guided tours are available for an additional fee). The self-guided option includes a QR code to download an app, which provides audio commentary at various stops along the tour. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the tour begins on the opposite side of the estate, taking you through the property's historic homes and buildings. Each stop offers insight into the personal lives and groundbreaking work of Edison and Ford, and it's fascinating to see the spaces where they spent their winters together. One of the highlights for us was the museum. I knew Edison was an inventor, but I didn't fully realize the sheer number of inventions credited to him -- everything from the phonograph to an early voting machine. There's also a fascinating display showing the many versions of the lightbulb throughout history and how it evolved into what we know today. We spent quite a bit of time here, soaking in both the history and the scenery. Before leaving, we stopped by the gift shop, which had a fantastic selection of unique and thoughtful items. If you're looking for one-of-a-kind gifts -- especially for those hard-to-shop-for people -- this is a perfect place to pick something up. 3 stars is mostly for the price, $28 is pretty steep for a audio guide. Tours are more. Although I learned some new things it could have been $10-15 and it would easily be 5 stars but $56 for 2 people is a bit ridiculous since is self guided.

I don't know why but I wasn't as impressed this time as I was on prior occasions. The place looks almost the same but somehow it seemed a little different. Nevertheless it's part of American history and I still enjoyed my self guided tour. I might return again as there isn't that much to do in SWF except dine and hit the beaches. Still , it was interesting to see two tycoons buying homes close together so as to maintain and enjoy their friendship. Their homes brought back memories of my childhood when we had an "Ice Box" in lieu of a refrigerator. They had a wood burning fire place for heat , we had a coal stove. American Middle Class families now live better than the rich in the 1920's. Progress ?! The place was filled with tourist on the day of my visit and it was obvious that for many it was their first time visiting the Estates. Ah , the lives of the Rich and Famous ... and the beat goes on
