Last night, we were a table of 8 people who were seated directly next to the cash register from 18:30 until 9:30 pm.
We were guests of friends who had reserved a table in advance.
Already upon our arrival, the maitre d' was not welcoming, did not know anything about our group reservation, and gave us the worst table in the restaurant.
The same maitre d' also turned out to be our waiter. As soon as our whole group of 8 had arrived, we started to order drinks one after another, which was already too much for our waiter who said, Ugh, I'll come back!
Fifteen minutes passed before he actually came back, and fifteen more minutes passed until the drinks actually came! At around 7 pm. we put in our food order plus a second round of drinks. Our waiter/maitre d' still taciturn, passed our table dozens of times, ignoring us completely. When we reminded him that we'd ordered drinks, we had to practically reorder them, as he had forgotten. We asked why he was not writing the order down, and he said, Because you take too long! Meanwhile, we sat at a table with empty drink glasses and nothing else. Sometime around 7:30 the second order of drinks arrived and at 8:30 pm our food arrived one and a half hours after ordering it! Keep in mind, the restaurant was not that full, so the staff was not overworked by any stretch of the imagination. Terrible service and attitude. I will never patronize this establishment again. It is absolutely unheard of to be treated so shabbily in a restaurant and wait so long for EVERYTHING on what was clearly an average business night.
We are spending our money, expecting a nice evening what reason or right does a business owner or manager have to be so unfriendly and ill-mannered? We did nothing offensive, only sitting and waiting for food and drinks that took an eternity to arrive.
