I was looking for a place close to work and was impressed by previous reviews. It's in a business park and pretty convenient to get to. Quiet location with plenty of parking. Nice menu with plenty of options. Gentleman was very kind. I ordered the Chicken Chipotle sandwich. It was prepared quickly, which I appreciated so I could get back to the office. There is plenty of seating available and the shop offers a cozy, welcoming vibe. Sandwich was so delicious! Good flavor, with quality ingredients. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches.

Found a yummy lunch spot! My work has me travel to different sites so when I came to work at this location, my colleagues all highly recommended Mayhew. The chicken chipotle sandwich was at the top of their recommendations, so that's what I ordered! Thoroughly enjoyed that sandwich! I was full and satisfied. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch spot!

A service oriented mom and pop shop with a great selection of hot and cold sandwiches wraps, salad and a daily soup. To complete your meal grab a bag of chips and a bottled drink and if you are lucky, some baked goods. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, but i haven't had the pleasure of trying them yet.

An extremely inexpensive place to enjoy a simple bagel or burrito breakfast. The owner was very nice. My bagel was perfectly proportioned of cream cheese to avocado ratio. There is plenty of seating and parking. There is coffee, chips, salads, soup and a variety of drinks. Prices range from $2.50 - $8

    Pesto Chicken. Added sprouts.

I don't know how I have lived in Sac for 25 years and have never been here. The store is filled with eye popping quality foods. Think of it as a smaller version of Whole Foods when it comes to food quality and prices. I noticed they had some top quality cuts of meats. The prices are quite high so I'll have to splurge some time on a nice steak. I did notice some items were pretty reasonably priced. For example, I was rather surprised to see they had a very large variety of Temple coffee beans for for $14.99 a bag. That's cheaper than I have seen elsewhere but I didn't pay close attention to the size since I was fully stocked on coffee at the moment. I had to try one of their legendary made to order sandwiches. Someone had recommended The Tuscany. Boy, was that delicious! And the sandwich was very large for $9.99, I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. There are tables outside so I purchased a bottle soda and a sandwich. Unfortunately, I didn't think ahead because there are no bottle openers available for customers to use so I was unable to enjoy my nice cold drink with my sandwich. I'll have to either bring my own bottle opener next time or choose a drink that is a screw top or flip opener.

The Corti Special is where they choose the types of meat that go into your sandwich. Their sandwiches are big enough for two people. I don't remember exactly what meats were in my first sandwich, but I definitely enjoyed that one more. The second time, the sweet roll got a little soggy for my liking, and I wasn't a big fan of the beef that was included. I am definitely a fan of their honey mustard, though! You can order your sandwiches online, or if you're ordering in-store, there's a slip you can fill out with your order. I waited about 20-30 minutes for my first sandwich, which wasn't too bad considering it was a busy weekend. The second time, I only waited about 5 minutes. They still have a great variety of meats, cheeses, and alcohol. It's a good place to stop by if you're looking to pick up some specialty grocery items along with a sandwich.

Thursday was brisket day so we ordered 3 pounds along with 3 sides each of mild and spicy BBQ sauces to go, intended to eat it later in the day. Didn't bother with ordering anything else - our one goal was to try their meat! Once ready to feast, bake it in the oven for 20 min at 275 degrees to heat. Time to feast! Every bite was juicy, succulent, and savory with the sauces. MmmMm! Sauces are a must, though, because the meat was quite bland without it. Didn't have any smoky flavor (or any flavor at all), but when you slather the sauce all over the meat then you'll experience the real taste that's intended. Fast and prompt service, plenty of outdoor tables for dining, and parking is available on the street. Want some ribs? Wednesday is the day you want to head over if their daily meat schedule doesn't change. Worth a stop if you're in the area but I wouldn't get well out of my way for this joint. It's fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't consider Roxie Deli & BBQ a hidden gem. Nonetheless, it'll fix your BBQ cravings!!

My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. All of the sandwiches are named after people or landmarks in Sacramento. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and will help you with recommendations if you're not sure which sandwich to get. It honestly feels like you're in the company of good friends. The restaurant is in a really cool old Victorian house, and the staff were super friendly. The interior was clean and looked like a nice place to dine in, but I ended up taking my order to go. I ordered the #19 with turkey, prosciutto, avocado, and swiss on a dutch crunch roll. The bread had just gone into the oven, so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but I can't complain because it was baked fresh to order. Overall, I thought the sandwich was very good, but honestly not quite as amazing as people online had made it out to be. It was definitely good, but I don't know if I'd be dying to go back when I think Ike's, Mr. Pickle's, Corti Bros, and maybe even Nugget or Sprouts make more interesting sandwiches. To me, those places use slightly higher quality ingredients as well, though maybe I just didn't order the best sandwich here. Overall, it was a good sandwich and a good experience. My expectations were probably just a little too high. I wouldn't be dying to come back but also wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there for lunch.

Upon walking in, the music was so loud it was overstimulating, making it hard to even hear the cashier. They were already out of sourdough and wheat bread, and the Arnold Palmer I ordered tasted almost entirely like lemonade. The sandwiches were prepared quickly and looked great initially, but while eating mine, I bit down on something hard and spit out a piece of glass. Finding glass in food is a serious safety hazard that could cause severe harm. I called immediately, and they offered a refund or a replacement sandwich. When I returned around 3:15 PM, the shop was closing early because they ran out of bread entirely. When I mentioned my call to the staff member up front, she dismissed me, saying she couldn't help because they were out of bread. After I clarified that I just wanted the refund I agreed on with the manager, she handed me off to someone else without another word. Instead of an apology for serving a dangerous foreign object in my food, the staff handed me cash (even though I paid by card) and essentially brushed me off with a poor attitude. Mistakes happen, but finding glass in my meal combined with zero accountability or basic customer service ensures I will never return
