While traveling through Hamlin, TX on 2026-07-23 we stopped at the Mayberry Diner for lunch and had a great time! It is very cozy decor on the inside in a 1950's style, with cool retro booths, old style table tops, and a cool bench made out of a 1950's car. 50's music was playing the whole time that we thought just added to the experience :)
We were greeted, and informed we could sit where we liked. The service was prompt. Our food was good :) I had a hamburger steak plate, and my husband a burger. The beef is locally sourced, and it all was tasty. The fries are thin cut, and we enjoyed them with ketchup. I had a salad bar with my plate, and enjoyed it with the pickled beets, pickled okra, a yummy bean salad with a sweet dressing, and cottage cheese. The proprietor even came to ask for clarity to our order when I asked for no extra pepper to be added. It was really fun, and such a lovely lunch in a small town. Though we did not order any, they also have ice cream :) This is worth a stop over if you are in the area :) read more
