a buffet with a variety of food items

This restaurant has recently opened a couple months ago, I suggest those who enjoy typical dishes from Honduras should come and give it a try. It is a very small location which makes it difficult to find tables to sit at on the weekends. Customer service here is exceptional! The ladies working here are the sweetest. My favorite dish is the pupusas de frijol y queso (a tortilla stuffed with bean and melted cheese). One of the complaints that I have is that the steak is a little too tough, making it hard to chew. From my understanding, this is the owner's first restaurant that they have ever owned so it still has work to do as far as the food quality, but nonetheless, it has the potential to become one of the top Latin restaurants to eat at in Statesville.

It seems like they've given up. Wanted to like it. Could have a good business from hotels. Travelers are looking for food. Don't give up.

Today we were passing by Statesville and it was about 3:00 and we hadn't had lunch, so we got off…read morethe road and found this small Mexican Restaurant which was AMAZING!!!! The food is authentic Mexican food, we are pretty sure everything is made from scratch, even the chips, salsa, tortillas, and sweet tea. They had the best beans I have had in years, not spicy, but creamy like true beans should be. The Chicken Fajitas Taco Salad was just the right size and the chicken was tender. The tacos we a little bit salty for my husbands taste but that didn't seem to stop him much. The sweet lady who waited on us was friendly and attentive and our food came out hot and timely. This "Family Taco Shop" may look like a little hole in the wall but inside is a treasure of wonderful authentic Mexican Food!

There was plenty of parking, and even though the location isn't right off a main road, it's worth finding. Inside, the space was surprisingly roomy. We were greeted by a gentleman who seated us right away and later took our orders on a digital device -- something I appreciated. It's a small thing, but it helps make sure the kitchen gets everything right. The menu had a lot to choose from, and I was excited to see they offered cow tongue and intestines -- hard to come by these days. Definitely a sign of authenticity. The tortillas are made fresh, which I realized after the first bite. I asked, and sure enough -- made right in the kitchen. My sister-in-law Who brought me there after her husband kept taking all his friends, order the birria tacos which were also fire. They bring out complimentary chips and salsa -- the salsa is mild, fresh, and just right. They also have a red sauce with a solid kick if you like a little heat. The gentlemen working there was friendly, and I got to brush up on my Spanish, which made the experience even better. TVs were playing sports, and the background music was classic Mexican -- just like home aka California lol The restaurant has only been open six months, but it already has 50+ five-star reviews, which says a lot. Surprisingly, I was one of two people dining. They offer takeout too, if you're on the go. The only thing I'll say is that the name doesn't quite do the place justice -- it's easy to overlook, but once you've been, you'll get it. The food speaks for itself, and it's only a matter of time before they have a solid crowd of regulars. They also serve alcoholic beverages, which is a nice bonus if you're looking to unwind with your meal after a long day of work. If you're looking for something low-key but authentic, this spot is worth checking out. No Tex-Mex.

Amazing!!! I ordered some steak tacos from door dash and they did NOT disappoint…read more For less than $20 I had FIVE amazing steak street tacos! They were SO good and what an amazing value! They also threw in chips and salsa at no cost which was such a pleasant treat. I really loved the meal. It's a big spacious restaurant. We were seated promptly and brought some warm chips and salsa. Salsa was good. Chips were basic. Service was prompt. The food was just ok. The chicken enchilada verde was quite good. The chicken was moist and seasoned. The verde was a tad bland, but the chicken was seasoned so well that it balanced out. The pork tamal was drier than the Sahara desert and basically inedible because of how dry it. The pork had a strong flavor of raw chili. The tamal is a hard pass. The refried beans were watery. The rice was bland. The pollo tropical was bland. The portions were actually small, but we did get lunch portions, so they were expected to be a little smaller. The prices were good. Our whole ticket with drinks was under $30. I likely wouldn't go back because there was an overall theme of a lack of seasoning in the food.
