Walking through the shopping district for the first time, we heard bagpipes, and an electric violinist playing pop music. They served as a soundtrack to the beauty of Lake Wakatipu and the vital harbor scene of tourists and shoppers. The shopping area is a pedestrian-only outdoor shopping street stretching from Camp Street to the Lake Wakatipu waterfront. It features New Zealand design stores, local boutiques, adventure gear, souvenir shops, high-end and designer fashion options, and scores of restaurants. We ended up here every day during our stay in Queenstown, having meals, buying wine, grabbing a coffee, picking up souvenirs, and just enjoying the beauty of the scenery, the friendliness of the people, and the great food and stores.

Everywhere is clean and there are many alleyways and shortcuts that takes you to discover new places. It's definitely touristy, and a little pricey. Though, if you need some normal groceries and water, I highly recommend 4 Squares Supermarket. We also went to Fergburger, Flame Bar & Grill, Aotea Gifts, took the TSS Earnslaw, and Erik's Fish and Chips. Overall, a nice place to roam around, especially with the beautiful Lake Wakatipu as a background. There are excellent restaurants and stores to eat and get souvenirs.

The adventure capitol of the world has everything from hikes, outlooks, bungee jumping, river speed boating, to mountain biking. Spend some quality time here and enjoy this wonderful city. In the children's section, there was was a large display of New Zealand themed kids books - great for gifts/souvenirs. There were also stationary items (notebooks, journals, calendars, pens, etc.) as well as art/craft supplies (paints, brushes, colored pencils, colored markers, etc.) There were also quite a number of toys (stuffies, figurines, kits, etc.) to tempt the kids. In a time where brick and mortar book stores are disappearing, it was nice to spend some time wandering through the books here. Very pleasant service (as usual). Prices were a bit on the high side, however.

Hello public…read more Myself and my fellow school chumps came to this wonderful facility of hair on the 2nd of January after the events of New Years had taken it's tole on one poor soul whom we were well acquainted with and his hair was left horribly disfigured from the forehead up. "Wilther's Place" was the only hair dressing shoppe that would take in our poor friend and fix him. The hair dresser there, who I can only presume was in fact named Wilther, took him in with open arms and scissors sharp. Wilther asked "what would you want done?" in a charming yet reassuring manor (my friend was so worried about his hair he in fact shat himself) and made us all feel very at easy while working through the stench of the shart in my friends trousers. Wilther created an absolute work of art fixing my friends half shaven head by giving him one of the #freshest fades I have ever seen in my life.
