He deciphered an obscure hammer position adjustment on a Hailun studio grand piano. He remarked, "I live for this!" when presented with this particularly elusive challenge. This was further complicated by the fact that the piano was placed in an area with humidity and temperature fluctuations, ultimately leading to sticking jacks. He presented an excellent set of recommendations for maintaining the health and improving the function of our piano moving forward. He touched on the fact that a specific type of regulation would greatly improve the sound and increase the responsiveness of the action, and he offered it as a part of the long-term plan for our investment. I have tried two other violin shops in Pittsburgh area, they were both OK but I was not highly impressed. I took a leap of faith with Wexford Violin Shop and I am glad I did. The owner Mike is an accomplished cellist so he knows what is needed from a musician's perspective. He did an amazing job fixing up my old cello. He put in a new bridge, adjusted the sound post and changed out non-functioning tuning pegs with Wittner geared pegs. It plays effortlessly thanks to the wonderful set up. The service fee is very reasonable and is worth every penny I spent. Thanks to Mike's fantastic work, I can now enjoy my cello again. Mike even played a few songs for me on my cello. I don't think I have ever heard my cello sounded that beautiful ever before. I will be bringing my other cello there for a tune up in the near future. Highly recommended this place.
