When in doubt, pick Max's.
Over the last couple of years, Max's has proven itself to be reliable, consistent, and classic. Of all the versions of spring chicken I've tasted in more than twenty years, Max's is still the best for me. I haven't encountered a single person who took a bite out of their famous chicken and did not feel happy and satisfied.
Max's also has something of a monopoly over Jufran ketchup. It only tastes amazing with their chicken! I don't know anyone who keeps Jufran ketchup in their house. Personally, I would only pick Jufran over any other ketchup available if I were in a Max's. I'm a recent convert to the Jufran/Worcestershire sauce combo, which I did find pretty weird for the longest time, and I haven't looked back since that first moment of condiment heaven.
I can write novels about the chicken, but I think you guys get the point. I'm going to move on to the caramel bars. They come in tiny individually wrapped portions, which makes you just want them more. You keep wishing they came in monoblock-sized pieces, but if they did, half the population would die of diabetes. Seriously, these things are YUH. MEE.
I cannot imagine life without these two things. read more
