This Marshalls is connected to a Homesense and it's inside Les Promenades Gatineau, the major…read moreshopping mall in Gatineau. It has its own entrance from the street/parking lot but also has a mall entrance.
Admittedly, even though I live just across the river in Ottawa, I rarely venture into Gatineau, but I will occasionally for shopping, especially shopping at my favourite stores: Marshalls and Winners, lol.
My most recent visit was during the Covid-19 Pandemic, so their inventory was low, but I liked how they had signage up to remind people to keep their distance from each other. Aisles were spaced out to facilitate this, and I liked that staff were wearing masks.
Marshalls still allows you to try on clothes, which I appreciate, as there are stores that don't allow you to try on clothes and all sales are final, like WTF? I know it's the pandemic and all, but unless something is like $5, I'm not buying it if I can't try it on and can't return it if it doesn't fit or look right. Anyway, I'm glad Marshalls still gives you the choice. I mean c'mon, I have no issues with trying on pants, skirts, button up shirts and things I don't have to put over my head. If I have to put it over my head, I assess the situation, wide neck that I can keep away from my face? Green light. Tiny little neck hole that will scrape up against my face? I'll pass for now. And trust me, I am erring on the side of extreme caution here, because the risk of fomite transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is very small. I work in the medical field and I am very Type A when it comes to infection control, so believe me, if I'm willing to take the chance, it's pretty safe, but I am digressing from this review, lol.
Under normal times, when there are no supply chain issues and the store is better stocked, they generally have inventory that's a bit more fashion-forward than stores in Ottawa. Also I love this location because it's attached to a mall.
Lots of free parking in the mall parking lot.
