As a matter of fact, some of the snacks we picked up from here cost twice as much at a shop in Little Italy... Great porchetta as well... Less than $C 20 for 1 kilo!!! Very friendly and accomodating staff... We asked for one of the salumi to be vacumn seal and she did it for us. Just great.

There are some incredible marinated and prepared meats which are perfect for the bbq: massive beef ribs, pre-cooked short ribs, filet mignon brochettes, souvlaki chicken, spicy California burgers. Yum, etc. Come early, the bbq stuff sells out. There is also a great cheese and deli counter where the homemade bacon is tasty and the handmade signs to let you know about cheeses that are recently award-winning are both helpful and endearing. On the weekend there are a few small tables with umbrellas where you can sit, eat and people watch, but you're next to a (great) fish shop, so it's not romantic or anything. The staff are low key, helpful, and seem to speak at least three languages at any given time (English, French, Italian.) There is a freezer section in the back full of homemade pastas stuffed with things like panchetta and portobello mushrooms and cheap yummy homemade pizza dough. Some things are eyebrow-raisingly expensive: the multi-coloured olives and the wild mushrooms are in this category, so are some of the kooky fine vinegars, oils, teas and chocolates, and the rarer cuts of meat. This is to be expected I guess but as a local I appreciate that you can also always get fresh quality basics like eggs, milk and sour cream here. I also like that they recently expanded the prepared foods section by the cash to include pulled pork sandwiches. And I'll leave you with this final thought: hooray for pulled pork sandwiches.

If you don't care about getting ripped off then by all means, shop there all you want. I strongly recommend you double-check your change if you pay cash. Perhaps not an ideal job for someone oblivious to customer concerns and seemingly deaf-mute. Other than the horrendous customer service from this clerk, the store has an adequate selection for a convenience store.

Euro Marche is a hit or miss for me…read more If you're looking for imported goods from Europe you have a great selection of items. I found some awesome stuff not found anywhere else in Montreal. If you want to do an entire list of groceries you'll be disappointed. They're continually behind on fresh items when I drop by at 9am. The minced meat is from yesterday, there's rarely any fresh bread in many of their shelves and the fruits aren't fresh. The fruit flies are plentiful in the produce area. All in all, I'm apprehensive buying anything that's not imported or packaged somewhere else.

Will also, cut a carcass in front of you if you want. But the most important thing of all, that makes this butcher more yuppie than most... is the fact that they have a chalk board that shows you the name and area of where they get each specific meat, locally sourced and super organically grown and farmed. Then a couple of years ago they added an extension and added fresh meats, seafood and prepared meals. Prices of the fruit and veg are a bit more expensive but I believe their quality and freshness to be a bit higher than your Metro, Super C, Maxi etc. Also it's nice to come into a smaller store to be able to get in and out of quickly (with some staple items) and typically not the longer lineups. I have found that their meat and seafood are very expensively priced (we go to Costco)! The place to me is the perfect size of corner grocery stores (from an era in which there were local supermarkets). Now the majority of the supermarkets are so big and you don't need half of the items they have. Although price is a tad higher I don't mind paying for it for produce. For meat however this is a different ballgame.
