In the middle of a high tourist area, Coop maintains their commitment to serving the locals with affordable pricing and reliable quality products. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Coop while we were walking around at night on Cannaregio island. We stopped to get water and I also needed to Kefer for a boost of probiotics. They were more affordable than other grocery chains but it was super busy and chaotic. We were in the self check-out area when the machines started breaking down and the folks in front of us were stuck waiting for staff assistance. We had to go to the cashiers. The lines were all long, but to their credit staff was productive. Overall good value if you're patient and don't mind a little chaos.

We were exploring and aimlessly roaming the streets in search of a cheap snack. This place did not disappoint. The cheeses here are cheap and to die for. They have this incredible 70 cent buffalo mozzarella in the refrigerated section. We paired that with some fresh bread, cured meats and there we had it. A cheap and DELICIOUS meal for literally under 5 are. This place is a little gem that can meet anyone's needs within the area.

Adult beverages can be expensive on a Cruise Ship, so Erin, Jim, Gayle, and I decided that we should stop at a local grocery store and stock on wine. A little cheese and bread for the room would also be a good idea. So we walked over to this Punto Market and stocked up for a total of 2 cases at very reasonable prices. For the most part, the wine was all good, or at least good enough. We were warned in the Norwegian literature that there would be a per-bottle corkage fee for anything we brought on board. It was also a lot of weight to schlep around. Yet, the economics were still in our favour and we wanted the convenience of enjoying a glass of wine in our rooms or on our small deck overlooking the water. We didn't hide our purchases either. Yet, no bottle count or corkage fees occurred. That turned out to be a double bargain. So here's our toast to the Punto Simply Market that helped make our Cruise so enjoyable.
