He was very funny and interacted with the kids right away. After ordering our drinks, he sat next to my son in the booth and started doing magic tricks. My husband and I found it hilarious, while our 4 yr old was mystified. The kids loved their Mickey and gang cups (it's the small things in life). The menu was huge with lots of options. We ordered goulash for starters. SO GOOD! The kids had noodles, which my daughter devoured. I had Jagersnitzel which was also amazing. The portions are HUGE. After being in Germany for a couple months, I have to say this has been the best German I've had since being here. Mixed with the ambiance and entertainment, I'd go back again and again! You won't be disappointed!

I had dinner at Zauberstubn with a group of friends. It was great fun. The food is superb. I had…read morethe schnitzel which was delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food so I don't think you can make a wrong choice from the menu. The owner came over and did three magic tricks. One assisted by a young girl who was celebrating her birthday and her brother. The magician explained the trick afterwards to them and us, but the other two tricks he did not and we couldn't figure them out. He was very good and had an excellent sense of humor. Definitely make a reservation or you may not get to eat! Well worth a visit, especially if you have kids. The owner/magician speaks several languages so he can entertain everyone. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

They weren't ready so we headed to the very top on the gondola and then back down to seegrube. At that point they were ready to seat. Now, I had no idea what we were getting us into - so when I found out is was price fixed with champagne I was waiting to get hit with a big bill. Only €62 for all 4 of us! We got champagne, orange juice, coffee, assorted meats and cheeses (including salmon), fruit, yogurt, granola, breads, pastries, and eggs scrambled or soft boiled. It was THE BEST breakfast of the trip, to the point that I'll overlook them not being ready at opening and still give them 5 stars :). Mountains and delicious food? Perfect.

The Waldfest happens around the Tegernsee area during the summer and is a great way to spend a day…read moreor evening in the countryside. It changes locations for a 3 week period and is held in villages around the Tegernsee. The one we went to was in Ostin and it was my first time ever at a Waldfest. It was organized on the village grounds amongst the trees and farmland. The location was idyllic and almost everyone was dressed in traditional wear. They charge a small entry fee of €2 and the beer is cheaper than most places in Munich. There were plenty of food stalls and the food was quite good. Hearty Bavarian meals and desserts. There was a guy walking around with a basket of schnapps and you could have one or two of those after your meal. This one served Maxlrainer beer which is one of my favourites from around the area. The band was belting out tunes and it was wonderful to see the sunset with Maß in hand ;-)) I will definitely come back again with friends next year. It's a wonderful experience and done beautifully. It was not overcrowded and everyone was in a good mood and enjoying themselves. A great way to discover the amazing Bavarian countryside :-))
