Service is great, they definitley are knowledagble, which is crucial when selecting rings. If your searching for rings then add Rob van Gerner Juweliers to your list. Prices are reasonable, so don't feel apprehensive to go in. Van Gerner would be my first choice before hitting up Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Antwerp.

Rob van Gerner truly has a beautiful shop in the Breestraat. But, I kid you not. This guy is the…read moremost cocky unsympathetic person I've ever met. And so is his personnel. There were five incidents which made us decide never ever to go there again: 1. We bought a photo frame that was quite expensive (300+EUR) and they promised to polish it. When we came back and saw the polished frame it was scratched. They pretended that they didn't see it! Because my husband was so persistent, they replaced it with another one. But the one we originally wanted to buy is still there on display. 2. While we were there, there was an elderly man who had brought his old gold watch to see if they could repair it. And they couldn't. The gold watch clearly had a sentimental value to the man. They just said to him: it's not repairable. You'll just need to wear another one. They almost threw the watch back at him! The old man had tears in his eyes! How rude can you be? 3. We parked our bikes at a lantern close to his shop (about 6 metres from his shop window). He came rushing out demanding that we take our bikes elsewhere. My husband told them it's a public area so we can park our bikes anywhere we want. He's sticking notes on every bike around the area of his shop that they should park their bikes elsewhere. Can you believe this guy? 4. When we came in after the bike incident, he clearly didn't give us any attention at all. We were sent to him through another jeweller who said that she was sure that he could make the bracelet that we wanted mended. Sadly, she didn't have the tools and she knew that he had. It probably would only cost about 20 euros to make. They came back saying that they couldn't make it. I suspect they don't want to go through all this trouble making something that only costs 20 euros. 5. We wanted to sell some Indonesian gold jewellery which is 22 carats. He just looked with half an eye cockily said: that's 18 carats and I'll give you 100 euros for that. When I went to another shop they tested it. It was 22 carats and they gave us 380 euros worth of gold for it. He is a true golddigger and swindler. So, yes, beautiful overpriced jewellery and beautiful shop. But they only want to sell their jewellery to you and not mend anything if it's too cheap to mend. I will never ever set foot in this shop again. I truly believe I gave it enough chances. If only for the owners' cockiness and he tried to scam us! They don't deserve my money nor my attention.
