We recently purchased a lovely home in Tallahassee Florida. Our kitchen and bathrooms really needed…read morea renovation. We heard that Paul McManus would be a good contractor to work with. We had a meeting with him and the process all began. From the beginning of the project to the end Paul was so helpful and reachable. We changed our minds several times on different things and They were patient and really guided us. I wish I would have just let them pick everything from the start. They are the greatest designers! Love them, they made it so easy. The GBB process made it great too. I highly recommend this company if you need a renovation. Fast and reasonably priced. Thanks to Paul we have the nicest looking home in our neighborhood.

We have well over $8,000 of disappointment in our master bathroom thanks to Paul McManus…read more We are off site owners and thought we could work with Paul long distance; he seemed technologically able to keep us in the loop . He has a fancy website and design programs, etc. etc. WOW, what a mistake that was. Subcontractors were used by the owner Paul McManus and he was unaware of their (or his ) sub-par work----he never admitted to us who performed the shoddy work he just apologized. Workmanship is poor and even simple cleanup up didn't exist- spots of grout are stuck all over, haze not wiped off, corners were not cleaned and are full of grout. I guess that my job is to finish his job sorry to say . Project design plans were not followed even though Paul generated them on his fancy computer program and I approved them ( the accent tile was hung improperly-Oops- I happened to catch this via a picture he sent and it was corrected by being removed and redone). We had to continually hunt down and follow up with Paul---- he was out of town ALOT during this bathroom project, usually following receipt of another chunk of our cash -- what should have been done in a matter of weeks rolled into many many months and we're still not happy but what's done is done live and learn.... BUT be forewarned! Every time we look at the misaligned glass block grout lines which stand out so distinctly we will cringe and remember him. Huge huge mistake and a total disappointment.

Contractors for Lowe's. Terrible. Does not show up for scheduled appointments. Rude. Does not stick…read moreto schedule - double the timeline they give you.

A waking nightmare…read more The first meeting will go well. Rob will tell you that he will visit your site daily and that everyone but the electrician and plumber are his employees, not subcontractors, so there will be no undue scheduling delays. You will like his approach and his reasonable costs and timeline, and then you will sign the contract and all promises will go out the window. Your job will go untouched for months at a time. On the rare occasion that any work occurs, it will be by a revolving cast of characters, most of whom are indeed subcontractors. Some will lie to Rob about their progress, and he will pass these lies on to you as he knows no better, because he seldom actually goes to the job site. (He will casually remark one day that he has 15 projects on-going at once.) The workers will be given little to no instruction and zero supervision. If you have an issue Rob will ask you to deal with the sub yourself. Your unoccupied home will be left unsecured. Over time, belongings both large and small will go missing from your locked garage. Rob will ignore most of your phone calls and texts. The subs and workers also will be unable to reach him when they have a problem or question, and they will then look to you for answers. You will find yourself the only person doing quality control. Rob will break the occasional commitment you may extract from him, and more months will go by with no progress. When workers do appear, you will find yourself telling them about an easy fix or workaround that Rob suggested, but that will come as unwelcome news to them, and they will then express their displeasure to you. Those workers will do part of the job -- often badly -- and then disappear, to be replaced weeks or even months later by new faces, who then will turn to you for direction on how to proceed because they've received none from Rob and he won't take their calls. He then will blame you for mistakes made by those same workers. You will have selected all the fixtures months ago, but none of them will be ordered until the last minute, ensuring even more delays. As the silence and the delays mount so will your stress level, until one day, a year and a half in, you will have no choice but to cut him loose and look for other people to finish your house so you can finally move back in. That's when you will find out just how poorly some of the work was done. You will be frustrated, and infuriated, and then it will be your turn to write a review like this one. Gradually word about him is getting out, online and by word of mouth. It's too late for us, but you can still save yourself.
