My vehicle needed body and suspension work. Gary committed to helping get the suspension outsourced, but didn't live up to that end of our bargain. If you need both body and suspension, this isn't your guy. Find someone with true subletting relationships who can deal with insurance for the suspension part of the claim as well.
As for bodywork, I have an old vehicle. Paint job after repair was obviously a different color, but no effort made to adjust for a better match to aged vehicle. Plus, there was several areas of trash in the final paint job. Blending was okay, a little heavy in some areas.
I had to insist the wheel well liner get replaced because Gary saw nothing wrong with the ill fitting one that was hanging down slightly when I went to pickup. So be prepared to demand quality.
Somehow from the initial discussion to final job, he forgot to repaint the damaged side mirror.
Overall, I'll give a 3 on value as well.
My advice: Get EVERYTHING in writing with this guy upfront. Double check your quote. Verbal discussions aren't reliable.
In my personal experience, Gary at Maverick Auto Body on Spring Garden Street in Greensboro said what he needed to in order to get the bodywork part of the job--leaving me holding the bag on the suspension bit, even though he committed to see that part through as well.
If I had it to do all over again, I would've gone with a different body shop because of all the trash in my paint job and the need for suspension assist. - Kisha F. read more
