We were traveling in our motor home in Madison Georgia when unexpectedly the diesel motor quit; thank God I was able to coast into a rest stop, how often could that happen? We called our insurance agency for a tow and were recommend Maurice's Towing and Recycling. Maurice was the second lucky event of the day. Maurice didn't want to tow the motor home until he figured out what the problem was. He worked on it several hours but couldn't get the motor to run and decided to start again the next day. That night while sleeping I had a nightmare that I put regular gas in the tank at last fill up. At 2am I got up and went back to see if that was what I had done, yep that was it. In the morning I called Maurice and confessed to the gross error. In a couple of hours he and a couple of employees drained 100 gallons and put in 25 gallons of diesel, after a few tries it started and we were off and running. Maurice is a great guy who would not give up, nor would he take an easy way out by towing and dumping it on someone else. read more

Maurice's Towing towed a car that we are the lienholder on the account. Our customer called and told us the car was there but she could not reach them. After 4 tries I was able to talk to someone. They were very evasive and wouldn't tell us how much to get our car or exactly where the car had been taken. The car had been there for 11 days already and state law says they are to contact the lienholder via certified letter in a timely manner. At that time no letter had been sent. I was told on Tuesday they had sent out the certified letter on Monday. A full two weeks after they towed the car. They said they didn't know where to send it. All of our cars have a sticker with our phone number and business name on the rear of it. When I spoke with them on Friday to get information- once again they would tell me nothing but, claimed the customer had told them earlier in the day that she was sending a truck to get the car on Monday. Our customer said she didn't tell them that because she had not been able to reach anybody there except the person who transfers the incoming calls to the needed party.- were they trying to get 3 more days of storage fees? I told them to give me a call on Monday if she didn't come get the car and we would come get it. I got the call on Monday and was given a price but was told to make an offer and they would pass it on to see if the owner would accept it. but assured me it would be no more than $1225 through Wednesday. When I spoke with the same person on Wednesday I was told the notes say no less than $1000. The rep told me she has to verify that with the owner and for me to call her back in 30 minutes. I did, I was told he would accept no less than $1325. This tow company, in my opinion, is a dishonest poorly run business that takes advantage at every turn. read more

We were stranded on the side of the interstate with a flat tire. Called a local tire place and they recommended Maurice's towing. It did take a while to get to us but they were really busy - lots of stranded drivers in the area at the same time. The driver was careful loading our car o to the tow truck and did a good job securing it. read more

James helped me with my tow today.. very very kind, professional, and went above and beyond! He has a bright smile.. one of those people that their positive energy just radiates! When dropping it off at my home he had to turn around on grass. He even asked where the septic and well lines were to ensure he wouldn't crush anything. NO other company would ever do that. I was involved in an incident with a driver employed by Maurice's Towing. They are not very helpful in helping me get my car fixed. I have contacted this office at least 5 times trying to get their insurance information to file a claim or to verify if they already filed a claim since I was the victim and their driver was the offender. I keep getting the run around, no return phone calls and receptionists who are unprofessional, unhelpful and uneducated when it comes to helping the situation run more smoothly. On one of many calls I was told from one of their receptionist who answered the phone that "they", whoever they are, were told by their insurance company that since their tow truck driver didn't get the ticket that they're not liable. Well making a phone call to an insurance company and only telling a part of the story and neither giving the complete facts nor filing an incident claim to benefit on your end is not telling them the truth. Yet another deflection from responsibility. Whether he received a ticket or not, this is untrue and simply a lie. It clearly states on the police report that I am the victim and he was the offender. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see who's at fault and liable for the damages. The police told me that if any driver driving on the Georgia roads is driving down the road and anything falls off their vehicle whether it's something they are hauling, not secured down in the back of their pickup truck or an engine part that fell off their vehicle while driving and it causes damages to another motor vehicle, YOU ARE LIABLE. It's the law. Point blank period. In my case their tow truck was towing another vehicle and lost a piece of his carburetor, that landed right in the middle lane of 285, while he was driving down the road. I couldn't swerve in time to miss it because I was in the middle lane and there were cars on both sides of me. I had no choice but to hit the object or turn into another car, hit them and cause another car accident. That could have been a very bad situation. Maurice's Towing is totally responsible for my damages to my car and refuse to give me their insurance information to get the damages, which is underneath my car, fixed which are over $4,000. Jaguars sit very low to the ground are very expensive to repair. It's been over a week now and I'm going to give them one more chance to handle this professionally. The insurance information that was given to the police officer was incorrect or I would have just contacted the company myself. I'm sure they do have insurance if they are towing other customers cars around. I just want mine fixed! My next and only option is to file with my own insurance company and we'll both sue this company. I'm sure they don't want to get sued so it would benefit them more if they stepped up. I have had over 20 + tows over my lifetime, and I must say this had been by far the absolute worst tow I have ever had. Not only was my bike dropped while going down I-75 while the truck was going 65+ miles per hour on the interstate. I should have known the moment I saw how badly maintained their truck was. There's is literally a picture and video of hydraulic fluid leaking on my driveway during the tow pickup. The tow truck driver and Maurice (the owner) refused to answer any calls until I had to get AAA corporate to contact them. Not only did they refuse to give me their insurance information, they also left my bike sitting in the repair shop for 60+ days with the hopes that I would just pay for it myself. This company and the people who they hire are disgusting and you should beware at all costs. read more

They sent a notice via AAA that they were at my tow location, but they did not arrive until 2.5 hours after they claim they were at my tow location. My dad owns a tow service in another state and there is no way this company should be towing for AAA with their bad customer service. read more

Maurice's towing was contracted through my roadside assistance and they cancelled the contract and notified no one. We were sitting for over an hour when we called for an update and the road side assistance found out about the cancellation. This company did not notify the road side assist or us. Their reliability is questionable at best. read more

The WORST!! Was scheduled to come through AAA. Gave me and AAA a reasonable "arrive-by" time, and marked in the online system that he had arrived. Needless to say, he hadn't, and almost 4 hours later and after telling me twice that he was "on his way," he still hadn't. My vehicle's transmission line came loose and I lost all fluid 5 miles from my house. I had AAA plus membership which includes 100 miles of towing and this towing company would not take me home 5 miles away first and then take my vehicle to my mechanic 15 miles away causing me to lose hours of my day & work due to their greediness of wanting me to call in two tows. Their customer service is at the bottom of the barrel and I do not recommend them. Their towing vehicle had no air conditioning on a 90 degree day and struggled going up the hill like it needed a mechanic itself. Highly disappointed! read more

Not a good experience with them. My car had a problem and towing service was needed about three weeks ago. I called my insurance company for road assistance service. Maurice's Towing was contacted to dispatch a towing truck. They sent me a message saying their towing truck was to show up about one and half hour later, around 9:07 pm. That is fine. It takes time. When it was approaching 9:00 pm, I called them and they said their towing truck was dealing other's car and didn't know when it would come to me. Felt no good. Ok, I can still wait for another hour. When it is close to 10:00 pm, I called them and they still told me that their towing truck was dropping somebody's car and no clue when it could come to me. That is not the worst. As it was already so late and I decided to drive home with the risk of hurting the car. Luckily, I arrived at home where is only around 10 minutes driving distance away. Then I called the towing company and told them I was already home and no towing service was needed today as soon as I arrived home, a few minutes past 10 pm. They said ok. I suppose they would not charge me in this case as their towing truck never came to help me and I called them to cancel the towing service when their towing truck was dealing with other's car. But they did send a bill to my insurance company to get the money. I contacted this towing company to dispute the charge. They said on the phone that they would look into the issue and contact me later. No information from them anymore. Then I contacted my insurance company. The insurance company told me that the towing company stated the towing truck came to me on that day, but I was not there. So the towing company charged me. Ridiculous! read more
