Had a collection of unfortunate interactions with the owner Tami based on confusing proposal formatting and wording. At the end of the day, I was forced to pay ~25% more than I had anticipated. Instead of actively listening to customer feedback and genuinely wanting to improve her customer experience, Tami doubled down and said that she mostly works with contractors (and they've never had a problem). She even went as far as accusing me of 'milking' the situation for a discount. I've never had a small business owner act as entitled and arrogant in the face of legitimate customer concerns. read more

We hired Tami and her team for a full exterior painting of our 1965 bi-level. Tami got us scheduled quickly and started on the agreed date. She also provided great color selection guidance. Her team had to do extensive prep to deal with weather-beaten trim and peeling paint but they accomplished the whole job within a week with outstanding results on the paint uniformity and trim coloring. Maurer Painting Review. I needed the entire interior of the home (ceilings, walls, closets, doors and all trim) painted before I moved in with my furnishings and family. Maurer Painting was able to schedule and complete the job as agreed. I was not in town when the work was performed and when I was finally able to see it, it looked great and there was no mess. One wall was painted the wrong color and when I emailed to discuss, Tami worked my job into the schedule and resolved the issue in less than 4 days. We used Tami's company to re-paint our windows after purchasing a new house. While Tami was very nice and easy to work with, the quality and professionalism of the crew was less than ideal. We are still cleaning up the drips of paint left all over our hardwood floors - they did not use drop clothes. Scraps of paint all over the house and yard, dirty rags left all over. They put our dirty window screens on top of our nice couches, and I went around each day they were here moving their dirty supplies off of our furniture. I work from home and several times they barged into closed doors without knocking - thankfully I was decent! read more

My experience was almost identical to Mary Ann's (read her review in the link "7 reviews" at the bottom of the recommended one). The owner Tami Maurer over promised and significantly under delivered. I knew I would pay more (her bid was higher than the others) because she offered her personal "hands-on service". What I wanted (and what was included in her bid) was her regular visits to the property as a liaison between the crew and myself. I wanted a company who had a longer-term relationship with its employees (anyone can hire a kid off of the street) and I didn't want to have to manage the job myself. The day before the start date she had me meet with one of her "employees", said she was leaving town and to contact him with any questions. They were supposed to "wet sand" the surface but because Tami wasn't in town that week they spackled it instead- which was a problem because he put it on so thick that it didn't dry. The job was put on hold for several weeks until it was dry enough to paint. Bottom line is that she sub contracts out the work (not an "employer" of 17), she doesn't oversee anyone and her bid wasn't even close to the final bill ($2,000 more than I planned). She is very attentive before she gets a deposit and is immediately available when she wants to get paid. You can get this kind of job from just about anyone but at least you only pay for what you get. Buyer beware. read more

Maurer Painting painted the exterior of my house, and did a fantastic job! I had not painted the house since it was new, 14 years ago, and Tami's crew did a great job at every turn. They spent more than a day caulking and prepping. When they started painting, I realized that the color I chose did not look good. Tami responded swiftly; she stopped the crew immediately, we chose a new color, and within an hour we shifted gears. Another point that impressed me was that the external painting crew took such great pride in their workmanship. They cleaned up after themselves every day, and really like their job. This crew had worked for Tami for over 3 years, which is a long time in this industry. As an added note, Tami's company has also done internal painting for me, and the inside crew that did the work had been with her company for over 10 years. The house looks amazing, and every single inch is covered with paint. It looks brand new. I thought that I was picky, but Tami is pickier. After the job was done, she and her crew walked through the job, identified a few spots that needed to be fixed, and finished the job. By the time I did the walk-through, there was nothing left to fix. The job was PERFECT. Not a surprise, though, because when Maurer painting did a much smaller inside painting job it was perfect too. So, lets talk money. Tami's quote was fair, and very competitive. You won't regret choosing this company for your painting needs. read more

Maurer painting is a great company to work with. Recently they painted 4 rooms inside my house and just completed painting the outside of my house. Tammi, the owner, was very helpful in helping me pick out colors and was exceptionally easy to work with. The crew was very careful of my garden and completed the job in a very timely manner. Tammi came over after the job and checked to make sure everything went well and if she saw even a little area that needed redoing, the crew was here the next day to fix it. When she came to give an estimate for painting the exterior of our house, as well as the exterior of my parents' house, she noticed right away that the underlying paint was lead-based. We recently hired Tami to paint the entire interior and exterior of our house. From the beginning Tami was helpful and available. She did a wonderful job of helping us pick colors and we couldn't be happier with what we ended up with. She regularly stopped by our house to check on the site and see if everything was going well for us. I found Tami Maurer, the owner, to be very mindful and transparent in her estimates, helpful in finalizing paint and color, and her painters, who were both friendly and expert in their craft, did a tremendous job in all phases of the work, including wall prep, taping, baseboard caulking, painting, and clean up.
