After recently moving from San Diego to Asheville I found my dog struggling and found it was a collapsed trachea and to take him home for palliative care. I found out on a Thursday and was told to take him home and provide steroids and painkillers. I was in shock, and didn't know what to do. His quality of life was my main concern. Both my daughter and I arrived individually at the same site based on reviews and meeting our need to let Sluggo go in a loving comfortable way for him. That Sunday morning, Dr cat came over, and told us exactly what would happen. She gave him treats to help him feel good, and then a shot that takes 15 minutes to really relax and help my baby sleep, but still could hear me. I was able to look into his soulful eyes before he went to sleep and honor him for all that he gave me, comforted me and his amazing friendship and thanked him for his abundance of love. She placed an IV after he was sleeping and snoring in true pug fashion. I spoke to him and told him it was ok to leave, thanked him from the bottom of my heart and said goodbye. I nodded to Dr. Cat to administer the final shot and shortly after, my baby was gone. He left peacefully under a big beautiful maple tree on a lovely October day with the birds chirping. I will never forget the care Dr. Cat gave my best friend. She was soft spoken, caring and compassionate. She put his paw into a clay form for me, and I will always have him and his ashes with me. Highly recommend this for any pet owner. So peaceful for our loving friends and companions, and made a hard day a blessing of peace and thankfulness. Forever in my heart my Bubbadoo Thank you Dr. Cat for your calm and peaceful presence you brought, your gentle heart for letting us take our time, and your compassion for my baby and for us. My cat's ashes were delivered over 2 hours away from me. I had to make numerous phone calls and send multiple emails to find out where she was and to get her ashes delivered to me. It's appalling and it was a horrific experience. I told both them and the crematorium they need to put some type of quality control check in place so this never happens to anyone again.

He said he has no money to cover the cost for the tube he left in my dogs esophagus/stomach That I had to pay for his mistake!! Very very disappointed and now in debt because of his mistake! I wish I had thought to actually take a photo when they showed it to me. But that essentially is what they pulled out of Mocha's ear. They actually had it in a plastic baggie for me to keep if I wanted it ‍ Anyways I politely declined. Although it did look cool af. When I brought Mocha into the vets office yesterday I thought I was just bringing him in to check out his ear then would have to take him back in for the procedure. The doctor surprised me when he asked me when Mocha had eaten that day. I asked why and he said "well cause if you leave him here we will just take it out today and you can pick him up at 4". After picking up my jaw off the floor (mainly due to my baby boy going under anesthesia unexpectedly) I left. The vet was so fantastic! Mocha was quiet on the ride home and a little drunken sailor for the evening, but he wasn't in pain or uncomfortable anymore. He's completely back to his normal psycho self. Definitely recommend Pleasantburg Vet to anyone in the area needing a vet. They have been our vet for over a year now and I'm very pleased with them.

I felt that my pet was taken care of and I left with a good understanding of the underlying illness and required care. The place was smaller than expected, which wasn't an issue at check in but was very crowded when leaving (multiple large dogs in the small lobby, a desk/workspace in the patient waiting area instead of behind the counter, just overall crowded). Loved all of the vintage pet artwork. Overall good experience!
