He didn't answer one night, and I asked my sister to go check on him. I said I would leave my work immediately and come home if he had relapsed. She found him passed out on the floor of our home, left him, and didn't come back. She said I was overreacting and that she would make sure he got to therapy the following day. Again, she never returned. He got arrested for alcohol related charges the next day. I got him a lawyer. My sister didn't like my lawyer. She always interferes, oversteps and enables. Guilt ridden, she started throwing money at him. I said don't bail him out, I want him to learn a lesson and she did. She brought him to her house and gave him an expensive large truck. I got him not one, but two attorneys, both stating that some of his charges were illegitimate. They would fight for him. The victim didn't show up for trial. My primary attorney had them drop the case. My sister was upset and said he should take a plea deal when the prosecutor chose to appeal. She intentionally scared him and said that he needed to use her attorney, Jared Martin. My other attorneys wanted to run the case the exact opposite of Jared. One of them represents the police, with senior tenor. I was told Jared is a "lead 'em and bleed 'em." He will say he is going to fight for you, but he is really working with the prosecutor with intention to force you into a plea the week before trial. That is literally what happened. When my son was released, we were not in a good place. I was very upset with him and he was ashamed. My sister threw more money at him. He knew he would be made to do therapy 2x a week at my house and I wasn't offering a big, fancy truck with all of the spoiling. They were not supposed to have alcohol in the house and there was. Both my nephew and my son admitted this. He relapsed repeatedly. Then, her kids BOTH got felonies! While they were sober! At that point, it was illegal to keep my son there. They all lied and hid this from everyone. My question is, who REPRESENTED her kids? Jared? He would have known that my son was no longer legally able to stay there. With zero accountability, being exposed to alcohol, no treatment; He got drunk at her place, took off with the expensive, fancy truck she gave him, tried to evade police, wrecked the truck and resisted arrest. My son needed in-patient therapy, he needed his mother. At his court appearance, Jared bad mouthed me and said that my son chose his actions due to my bad parenting. He blamed me for my son's actions after having been at my sister's house living with freshly convicted felons. THAT was his actual defense argument. The judge rejected this premise entirely. He threw the book at my son. My son got sentenced to 5 years in prison. Jared has a monetized incentive to play interference and enable my sister's disgusting behavior. This man is a pathetic excuse of a human being. Please do not hire this man, he is willing to be manipulative for money, partaking in the destruction of families.

For months he promised to file contempt and civil actions to get monetary value for my property. First it was he didnt want to file because our home was for sale and didnt want to "stir up a hornets nest" because i needed her signature to close the home as the market was plummeting. She filed frivolous motion after motion and emails pro se burning through thousands of my money and he couldnt even best a half wit at hearings. When house finally closed i demanded he file now after 4 months of burning through 9k in my money never recovering any of my property. Even after the sale he came up with excuse after excuse as to why he hadnt filed. He finally sent a demand letter in mid Jan giving her 10 days to pay or suit was finally being filed. 2 weeks after deadline i asked when suit was being filed and just after he asked for yet another 4k for my trust he sent me a letter stating he was dropping me as a client. So he billed me thousands for paperwork and demand letters after asking me to get my missing property from the 80k mark down to 35k so he could file in magistrate in order to recover attorneys fees. Weeks of prep and attorneys fees for a demand letter never filed. Only 2 times we appeared at hearings he was late both times. First time the judge was caught in the same accident traffic so he got a pass from the judge. Second time the judge was on time and kept pushing my hearing because he still wasnt there until the very last case of the hour. I dont care how much traffic there is Meridian to Caldwell isnt a 200 mile commute as a professional you should leave earlier. ******This review was edited after Mr Shepherd sent me a threatening email to sue a 100% disabled vet who is actually going in for spinal procedures at the hospital in 2 hours which further stresses a person who he was hired to protect. To answer his what i believe untruthful response because this is what he will do when he represents you. He states i "wanted to litigate against his advice". He was the one who stated i had a strong case for liquidation of my property to herself for pennies on the dollar. He wanted me to get it into magistrate court and have the emails stating such so i followed his "expert" opinion and got my actual damages down from 80k to 35k as he suggested. At no time did he tell me to not to litigate any further and anyone who wants to view the emails to that fact is free to see them showing i did everything he asked to sue for damages. He took my case to litigate and shouldnt have if he truly advised against it. As for all the other nonsense i couldve done everything else pro se and paid nothing. For anyone reading these reviews watch how he attacks the poster in all of them that is what our experience was behind closed doors was even worse for us in our opinion.
