We found Marie and her team through a venue recommendation, and from our very first call, we knew we were in the best hands. Planning a destination wedding in just six months felt daunting--especially from the mainland--but Marie made it all feel doable (and even fun!). She was incredibly organized, responsive, and proactive from day one. Within hours of our first conversation, she was checking vendor availability and getting the ball rolling. She answered every question quickly, gave honest and thoughtful advice, and truly helped us stay grounded in our vision and budget. Marie only works with top-tier vendors--every person she recommended, from catering to florals to lighting, delivered above and beyond. And on the day of the wedding, she and her team handled every detail so we could be fully present and soak it all in. There were so many moments where Marie went above and beyond. At one point, when I had a small wardrobe mishap, she pulled out a sewing kit and helped fix it without missing a beat--just one example of how calm, prepared, and thoughtful she is. If you're planning a wedding in Kauai and want someone who will bring professionalism, creativity, and genuine care to the process, look no further than LEK Events. We're forever grateful for Marie and her team.

My biggest complaint: My husband didn't get his promenade. Our special ring bearer, his father, the groom and the groomsman didn't get their moment/ promenade either. NOTHING was as we rehearsed it the evening before during the rehearsal . What was the point? The men did NOT get any structure, guidelines or assistance on the day of the wedding. What's the reason for paying a second person at the ceremony site if that person doesn't assist and direct half the wedding party?! The groom wandered up to the front after waiting for some direction.... But nothing. He was so disappointed. She is not flexible or accommodating: She also insists on communicating via email- she barely calls or texts. Despite me telling her I don't operate that way. She doesn't care. She does whatever is easiest for her. I felt like she only wanted to make her job as easy as possible. Be prepared brides and grooms to fill out endless spreadsheets. She bragged about her timeline, it was suppose to be a slick and smooth operation. I felt like I needed her to keep things running smoothly, I was wrong. If you want to do a lot of work by yourself and pay her way too much to be rude to your vendors, (the videographers and photographers whom I flew in from Texas, both complained about her giving the wrong time tables multiple times and being difficult) and have her mess up your wedding day, be my guest. I refuse contact. Don't reach out to me. This bridge is burned.

While the ceremony was memorable, the final products were never delivered as promised. We pre-paid for 50 retouched photos in a CD format and a 16x20 canvas portrait of our choosing, however, we never received the final products as promised by Ron. After many email attempts, we got a couple of responses back with excuses and more promises that never came to fruition. After six months of no deliverables, I finally filed a complaint (charge dispute) with my credit card company and got the charges reversed. I'm out $300 initial deposit but at least got back the remaining $700 from my MasterCard. My husband and I are truly disappointed with A Simple Marriage and initially thought they were honest people, however, after this less than memorable experience, we really have to be more selective with who we can trust.

Initially, Ron was great at returning calls and emails, and being very professional. He sent confirmation emails regarding our phone conversations. During our first conversations and emails, he told me that his wife Suzanne would be contacting us regarding the details of our ceremony. As the time of our ceremony grew closer, I called Ron again and asked when we would be able to speak with Suzanne regarding the details of our ceremony. We never got to talk to Suzanne, Ron went through the details with us, which seemed a little odd as he wasn't the officiant. We payed the rest of the amount, almost $1000 (which we should not have done until we actually had the ceremony). Ron told us he would send us another confirmation email regarding what we had paid for, details of ceremony, etc. We never received a confirmation email. I emailed several times with no response, my now husband called several times ending in a disconnected phone number. I started to feel very uneasy about the whole situation, and as a bride under pressure the last thing needed was to have no communication with our would be officiant and photographer! I looked them up with the Better Business Bureau, and found out that there have already been 2 complaints in the last 3 years for lack of goods/services. I left like we've been taken for our money. Eventually, my now husband was able to find a number and speak with Ron. At that point, I did not feel comfortable using their services any longer and decided to cancel about 2 and a half weeks prior to our ceremony date. Again, Ron over the phone stated that he would send another confirmation email for a wedding cancellation, it was not sent for 4 more days. We were able to find a wonderful officiant and photographer at last minute who were very professional and on top of everything for less than what Ron and Suzanne were offering. Ron stated that he will not be refunding the deposit due to all the work that was put into our ceremony already- I was able to find out that in fact 10 days before the ceremony, the beach was not even reserved yet for us, so I'm not quite sure what sort of preparations they have been doing for us- no beach reservation, no actual talk with the true officiant....I gave them 2 weeks to re-credit my credit card before sending them another email asking for our refund back. I was told by Ron, that 2 weeks is not enough time, and that in fact 30 days is the norm. That also seemed very fishy to me I don't know if Ron and Suzanne would have been good during the ceremony; however, I was unwilling to find out based upon their lack of punctuality in paperwork, poor communication and at times lack of communication. Previous reviews also stated that they were not given their pictures either- that's a chance I was unwilling to take.

Alii Kauai Weddings did the best job helping me plan my dream elopement from Texas. I had never been to Kauai or even on a tropical vacation anywhere and they were always available to answer my questions and helped me plan everything out exactly like I wanted. The moment that I realized I had definitely made the right decision hiring them was when our flight got delayed causing us to miss our connecting flight and we got stuck in Los Angeles the night before our wedding! It was so stressful and I don't know what I would have done without Jessica. I called her and explained what happened and that we would not be able to get a flight until the next day ( Sunday, our planned wedding day). She made a miracle happen and was able to move our wedding from Sunday to Monday: flowers, cake, videographer, photographer, officiant, wedding coordinator and all! I couldn't believe it and was so grateful to not have to go from the airport straight to our wedding! The vendors that she works with were exceptional. The flowers were better than I could have imagined. The cake was delicious. Our pictures and video were perfect. Our officiant was wonderful. The coordinator onsite was helpful and everything ran very smoothly. I couldn't recommend this company more.

We wanted a sunset ceremony at Shipwrecks beach on the south end of Kauai. I must have emailed 5 wedding planners to start with and she is the only one that responded. I'm so glad she was the one because she responded to every single email, always within 24 hours. Everything she has listed online is accurate, pricing for everything is upfront. I wanted to upgrade my bouquet, and my husbands lei, also got leis for guests. I added flowers for my hair pretty close to last minute, I sent her pinterest ideas that I loved and got exactly what I wanted. Seriously, my bouquet could not have been any more beautiful. We chose Harneet for our photographer, so far we have our sneak peek of photos and love them all. I can't wait to see the rest. Kahu Chuck was our officiant and he made our ceremony very Hawaiian, which is exactly what we wanted. Meghan did my hair and makeup and I felt so beautiful. She did an amazing job, exactly what I wanted and I really didn't want to wash it off. My hair stayed perfectly, even with the heavy flower comb in my thin hair, how she did that i'll never know. The day of I emailed Jessica with a request for 2 chairs, we had 2 guests over 70 that we wanted to make sure had a place to sit, she arranged that and Harneet brought them from the north side with him. It never crossed my mind previous that we would want any chairs. He also had umbrellas in case it rained, but the sun was out and the wind died down. After all was said and done, we had the best day. We basically showed up and it was all taken care of. If you are looking for a wedding planner, this is the group you want to go with. Honestly, if I ever got to do it again, we'd use Jessica, she's very professional and great at what she does. I referred her to our flight attendant on our way home who is wanting to get married on Kauai. I really can't say enough good things!

She actively helped us with finding the location, and together we ended up choosing what is probably the best spot with a view of Hanalei Bay. Absolutely stunning. We started communicating about two months before the ceremony, and she walked me through every single step of what was needed to get married in Hawaii (we're based in California). When my wife and I decided to do a destination wedding in Hawaii, we had no clue where to start. I started out researching photographers and ministers, when I contacted Aloha Ever After and spoke with Timory, I just knew this was the right company and the right people to make our wedding the best it could be. We set our wedding date for Dec.9,2018. (I know, I unintentionally procrastinated with my review.) But our experience was phenomenal and the memory stays with us every day. Timory did an incredible job helping us with information to get the marriage license, flowers, suggested accommodations in the area and even provided great options for the ceremony. after seeing Shipwrecks Beach, we chose that as the place to start our new life. We arranged to have her partner/Husband Joel perform the ceremony and Timory on photography. They were both awesome to work with, in tune with our wishes and exceptional with assisting us the whole way. The ceremony was beautiful, we did a sand ceremony as well and all of the photos were absolutely breathtaking! One of my outstanding memories during the ceremony was Timory asking us to pause briefly to look into the ocean, there was a Manta Ray lingering just off the beach, in front of our location, she said that was a rare occurance at that beach, in fact, she said she hadn't seen that in 20 years of performing weddings at that beach, the locals at the Tidepools restaurant all concurred and didn't believe it until I showed them the photo. we chalked it up as the spirit of our lost loved ones joining our special moment. that was super cool to experience. I truly can't say enough about Aloha Ever After, The prices were more than reasonable, the help with planning was priceless, the team of Timory and Joel and the overall experience is something I'll never forget. We've returned once to revisit for our anniversary and to reflect on the memories. We hope to go again someday to renew our vows and you know my first call will be to Aloha Ever After!
