Thank you, Dr. Matthews, for helping me out when I needed it! I wanted to try a new chiropractor and found this local chiropractor on Yelp. I felt comfortable talking with Dr. Matthews right away, and his calm and confident manner went a long way to help guide me to healing. His format seemed very standard, with leaving me alone in a room with the vibrating things on my back, adjusting me afterwards, and then asking me to do some physical therapy type stretches/activities in front of him that I would do at home. The hands-on adjustments were very brief and focused on the particular parts of the body where I was having issues (not the whole body). This seems to be extremely standard practice at most chiropractic offices I have visited. If I needed this type of care again, I would not hesitate to return. I don't know if this is still the case, but when I visited him, he was the only employee working, and I didn't initially realize that the person greeting me was the Dr. himself, as he didn't have a nametag on or identify himself. I did find this kind of awkward, in that it meant I had to talk insurance and scheduling and payments with my chiropractor. He may have an assistant by now, so this may have changed. read more

As soon as I got in the office got a nice suprise the front end lied so when I first called they said no problem they accept my insurance great didn't say a word about anything as soon as I walk in the office they then tell me that instead of telling me that on the phone ANY OTHER office there were no fees or deductible but here I have a deductible extremely weird someone's gonna say oh they didn't have time to check that's exactly the problem they say yes to get u in the door to sucker u in to just paying the bill and saying to hell with it didn't even get adjusted going back to my normal chiropractor longer drive but isn't a scam artist like this office read more

Yelp aided in my decision making process and lead me to Dr. Matthews, as he had very happy patients leave reviews. His office was conveniently located off of Dixie just south of downtown West Palm Beach with plenty of parking. Honestly, it's the perfect location for a practice for those reasons alone. The quality of care is what impressed me most about Dr. Matthew. He is thorough! We went over mine and my family's medical history. Gave me a physical (bc I had not had one in who knows how long). Plenty of questions were asked to make sure he was providing the best care. He adjusted my neck and back effortlessly and knew with a touch just where the problem was coming from. Truly cares about his patients and does just adjust me he also has provided phototherapy exercises and stretches that he has supervised to make sure I'm doing correctly. I also do them at home sometimes. My posture is way better and my lower back pain which made it difficult to get out of bed is basically gone and now I can get out of bed without moaning. I've been with Dr Matthews for almost three years, after more than a decade (with one practice) of Chiropractic care in Atlanta. Moving to FL, I was skeptical because it takes a lot of trust to let somebody twist and turn you like Chiropractors do. He came recommended by multiple people, and even still I was nervous. He explained EVERYTHING in the beginning and only did as much as I was comfortable with until I trusted him. Needless to say, it didn't take long. Since then, I've had a few new injuries and have learned of his ability to advise on stretches and activities for PT, had him show me how to tape myself for a 40 mile walk (with an injury and felt GREAT), and even help me with achy joints. During this dangerous time, and with a autoimmune problem , I was worried about going to see a doctor. However, my pain level was a 10 and I went. What a wonderful experience. Dr. Matthews not only had the normal practice of masks, but he was extra clean by wiping every item down with hospital grade disinfectant. The doctor Matthews is amazing, very professional and with a lot of experience, I came first time with him because I suddently had half of my face paralized (Bells Palsy)and the process usually takes very long time to go heal (months sometimes year) but in only two weeks with repetead sessions with him I went back to normal, I feel very good since the first visit. His asistant is very friendly and nice, they are bilingual, so makes all easier for me, his office is neat and clean with easy access (US1)with a big front parking area . Now I know how important is this visit periodically even if this never happened to me, I will give a session as a present for my mom and uncle because honestly is a huge change when you feel your muscles relax and your bones in place. They use a a hot pads therapy in every sessions with low electric stimulation for muscles...I feel my shoulders, my back, my neck very relax and not that tide as before. I hardly recomend Dr. Matthews and his staff, excelente service. Customer service is what I genuinely appreciate so I have to say I am disappointed to say that post-service, I was approached my a man whom did not introduce himself, yet, interjected directly into a conversation I was trying to have with the sweet receptionist up front. I made a last minute appointment (same day 1.5 hours prior) by finding them through Groupon. I was extremely grateful for the last minute booking and the phenomenal receptionist and truthfully, THAT, is why I rate the second star.. Back to the gentlemen with no introduction. Unbeknownst to me prior, they close at 1pm on the day that I visited (Tuesday) and boy was I well aware of it by the time I left. 12:48 my massage ended, which is standard....The massage was good, I would say 8/10. MAYBE one minute later, 12:49/50 I came out dressed so quickly the therapist said "wow that was fast". The therapist the proceeded to stay in the reception area until about 12:54 and hopped up and said "I've got to go", I tipped him, he HAULED out the door making me already feel, um, rushed. I took that time trying to regain service from airplane mode from my massage, I had none. Also the receptionist is telling me of what they offer! Here comes the tension... with most places they PREFER to honor your Groupon price as to avoid the third party fee they take for booking. As someone who frequently get services from Groupon I am full aware of that and tried to out that offer on the table when a taller gentleman came out from a back office, I would assume the chiropractor, and just inserted himself saying "you are supposed to purchase it prior to the service". It is not what you say but how you say it, it was a shady backhanded comment from a man who did not provide me any service.. I explained to him "I am sorry I was a last minute booking today and drove 30 minutes to make my appointment. I was speaking with the receptionist and I know MOST smaller businesses prefer actually to just honor the price that is listed".the conversation was so tense between myself and this taller gentleman. He eventually agreed to honoring the price on Groupon, so disdainful, by which time I had purchased the Groupon TWICE and 3 other pending times.... THAT IS HOW MUCH I FELT PRESSURED. I walked out after redeeming one of the vouchers at 12:58... 2 minutes to spare until official close and pure anxiety after what is supposed to be a relaxing service, seriously. I get it, it should have been handled and discussed prior to the appointment but it was a last minute service on a rainy day that was made one hour prior and sir you chose to handle it SO very poorly. Again, the only reason there is two stars here instead of one is the sweet blessed receptionist who was selling me on their program. I had full intentions on coming back! Lol! It is a joke you would treat a first time guest with such behavior, I felt it was based of my physical appearance, honestly, happy to spread the word of my rushed experience. Found this place on yelp because I desperately needed work on my back and neck. Dr. Matthews is very nice, however I felt as if he didn't listen to what exactly was going on with my back and neck. After, working on it for a while, I experienced "some" relief. I was told to come back the next day for a massage and to see him. The massage therapist was 15 minutes late, and I felt rushed as soon as I got into the massage room. The massage table was freezing (no heating blanket) AND the massage therapist DID NOT use any oils or lotion. It felt like a rug burn the entire 30 minutes. It was VERY unpleasant and uncomfortable. So, after 2 visits and $200 later, I felt 15% better. It all came back 2 days later. Dr. Matthews said he was going to call and see how I was feeling etc etc, but I never heard from him. So frustrating spending $200 for nothing!!!!! read more

Dr. Matthew's is an awesome chiropractor! Very down to earth and understanding. He definitely wants to get to the root of the problem and fix it so you're not in pain. Not to mention sometimes with my busy work schedule he is very accommodating - he understands things happen. I started going about 3 times a week when I hurt my back and now I'm down to about once a week. My pain has greatly improved and is barely there anymore! !!! Highly disappointed in this place. Do not get me wrong the doctor is very knowledgeable and know what he is doing, but as of treatment and patient care he is HORRIBLE. He does not care about his patients and everything goes by what he says not even listening to the patient. The office is awfully small, a larger person can barely fit on the adjustment table and the room is tiny. it is so cold and a very long wait time. He is not considerate and super sarcastic towards the patient. It seems as if he just wants to nag about whats wrong and send you off fairly quick.
