Great place to see some vintage memorabilia from 100 years ago. It's a general store but also a museum. They have so many old bottles, cans, Tea containers and so much more. Very unfriendly staff or owner and place full of overpriced crap. Time for them to sell as their interest in serving customers and providing nice merchandise is long gone. Too bad as we were enjoying ourselves up to that point and hoping to get some nice keepsakes from this quaint little town. Skip the history and spend time in the new section of the village. read more

My husband and I visited Carcross today. We were having a very enjoyable visit. The ladies in the visitor center were so friendly and helpful. We went into Skookum Jim's house that is managed by Parks Canada and the young woman that was working was wonderful. She told us all about the First Nation people. The gold rush and Chilkoot Trail. Very informative. The worst part of our visit to Carcross was walking into this store. The owner was very rude to my husband telling him that he could not eat popcorn in the store that wasn't purchased there. To bad for him because he lost a major sale. I had a pair of $165.00 mukluks in my hand that I was going to purchase. Needless to say I put them back and we left. We learned later that Ron O'Connor is rude to everyone. I'm surprised he is still in business. I would give this business a negative star if it was available. read more
