Crystal Gage Dds. is an incompetent dentist and a depressing personality…read more I went there for just a cleaning and this lady said I needed to get a filling done, because she thinks a filling that was done by another competent dentist looks like it fell off, without confirming it with an xray, when more important things, like a rootcanal treatment needed to be done first. When I went for the appointment, she didn't even take an x-ray of the tooth that she said need a filling and proceeded with the filling. The anesthetic wasn't strong enough and I could feel a little when it was being filled. I told her all these things she was doing was against proper practice, but with always a sad, under-confident look on her face, did it anyway.  After a month, a part of my tooth broke off with the filling this lady had just filled, which I told her could possibly happen from her incompetent dental practices. After another month, half of that tooth broke off. I filed a complaint with my insurance company and they had a hearing. This lady fled( quit) Meadville dental clinic on Alden st. & is now presumably working at another clinic nearby in Meadville. I'll try to update the exact clinic where she is now. I am giving my honest horiifying experience with this dentist, to warn naieve patients who may not know what is proper dental practice, or is unable to detect substandard dentists

I have NEVER heard of a business that seems to be running on a foundation of disrespect, ignorance, and cruelty more than this. One would think that a dentistry practice would be accustomed to seeing teeth in poor states, and understanding that there can be any number of reasons behind that. One would think that professionals wouldn't jump to conclusions without letting the patient explain their situation. One would think that they certainly wouldn't voice those judgements to the patients that are making themselves vulnerable for the sake of their health. I will not go into great detail, but my sister has an autoimmune disease that greatly contributes to the degeneration of her bones, teeth included. She was unable to express that because she was immediately told "You're just a soda drinking, candy eating little bitch, ain't ya?". Mind you, the quote isn't verbatim but is what was said in so many words. If you are truly comfortable with a care provider treating you as sub human, then yeah, maybe I'd recommend this business to you.

Hlaudy so I thought it would be a consultation for an extraction. I was wrong he looked at my tooth for a second and at the xray for less and said he could remove it that day. I asked him if I would be sedated or what and he said no just novacaine. When I told him I had past bad experiences he said well it's up to you if I don't pull it out today that is just one less tooth I have to pull. So I had a split second to make a decision and I made the wrong one. He gave me 2 shots of novacaine without numbing the gum or the roof of my mouth first and both shots were kind of painful. I guess my old dentist spoiled me as he put numbing solution on a q-tip and numbed where he would be putting the needle in. This dentist's bedside manner was horrible with me. I not only felt like a wimp but that I was bothering him and wasting his time. I would never go back to him and I will mention his behavior when I go to see my dentist. Also the dentist said I might not be able to get an implant as it is near my sinuses but when I mentioned it to John A. Hlaudy you could almost see the dollar signs in his eyes.

It's also convenient that they see and work on kids of all ages since I have a 2 year old and a 13 year old. Also if you are NERVOUS like myself, they have the Laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide) available that helps with my anxiety!. It made my filling appointment actually enjoyable!
