The times that I've gone, I am always welcomed and helped immediately with any inquiries I might have. I got my first tattoo from Beth and then my second one from Matt. Both were very knowledgeable in guiding me through the process of placement for my tattoo, as well the design of it. The piercings I got were easy and painless. No complications and heeled very nicely. Over all, my experience has been a pleasant one and I look forward to my next visit for some more ink and jewelry. Obtaining a tattoo is a fun but stressful endeavor, except when done by Rockstar, then it is just…read morefun. Prior to visiting Rockstar for my current tattoo, I have had four tattoos done. My first, done by an artist in Columbia, MD, was a miserable experience. I was nervous, and the artist had no compassion to ease the decision. I basically drew the thing myself, which shocked me to discover he did no artistic rendering help. Then, when it was complete, I felt there were lines missing in the artwork, but was told to 'give it time to heal then return for a touch up', only to discover apparently you have to pay to come in to sit for a touch up. Also, after all this stress, deciding to get my next piece done elsewhere, I then realized I was wildly over charged. So, my next tattoo was done by a shop in Hanover, MD. I loved the artist, however she then moved out of state, forcing me to find a new go-to tattoo shop. My third tattoo, I got with my husband by Rockstar-we just so happened to be nearby (obtaining our marriage license) randomly called that morning, asking if it was possible to pop in to get matching word tattoos to celebrate the moment. The process was so easy & amazing. We simply wanted the word everything, from our favorite novel. She spent as long as we needed combing through fonts to ensure we were both happy with our decision. She did not mind we didn't have something already picked out, she helped us decide what would look good, last longer if stretched, and where to put it. The price was reasonable, so we settled in to get the work done... That's when we met Ted the Tattoo dog. Ted sat on our laps throughout the tattoo experience providing a calm relief. In addition to music in the background & friendly small talk, I knew this was going to be my go-to shop. So, I returned for my latest piece; a larger thigh tattoo, I knew Rockstar was the shop to get a great-reasonable and reliable price, artistic flexibility and input, and when I was ready to pull the trigger I would have a great time sitting and chatting for the hours it would take. The experience did not disappoint! A few hours with Ted, a relaxing inking experience, and a beautiful result. Not to mention, free touch-ups when needed, just call and let her know how it is settling. Plus the bonus in it all, when I told her about my horrible previous experience, she touched up my first piece-adding the lines that were forever missing!

The hoop had a diamond inlay…read moreconsisting of 7 diamonds. the piercer, Tasha was unable to get the hoop in and said that my piercing (which was done elsewhere) was making it difficult. after 30 minutes, the hoop was in but badly damaged. Ultimately I left without being charged and a diamond broke away from my hoop while the metal is mangled and deformed. the precautions taken to not damage the jewelry did not go far enough. Someone should have tongs with rubber teeth so as to not bite or leave indentations on precious/soft metals. she was kind and patient but ultimately my day is ruined and so is my jewelry! Update: The profile responding is not actually Vinnie to start. Vinnie (the business owner) did not see me at all the day I came in and never once spoke to me. Tasha (the one leaving the response) claims i came in on Tuesday... a blatant lie. I came in on Saturday the 30th and have posted a call log and texts from the 30th. The Jewelry was bent where the diamonds were set, as tongs were used directly over the set diamonds. My issue was Tasha seems to have little experience with fine metals and paper towel isn't going to keep 14k gold from being damaged... Truly lackluster to see Tasha reply as Vinnie, LIE about me coming in at all on Tuesday, and try to claim damage wasn't done in the studio. If at any point a professional feels they can't complete their job they should say so and stop at a reasonable point.

They carry titanium earrings which was what I wanted for her. We followed the aftercare steps with his saline wash, and the piercings healed well with no infection. It definitely cost more than Claire's, but I wanted to be sure a sanitized needle was used on her, so it was worth it to me. Cons: Not exactly a kid-friendly vibe due to: language of employees, loud background music with a lot of profanity, and some intense imagery on the walls, including a topless woman with nipple piercings. It wasn't a super quick process, so there was plenty of time for us to notice everything. I would recommend that they have some time set aside for kids' ear piercings with different music and covered up images.
