We were given explanations for why our offer was not presented promptly to the sellers and were later told the accepted offer was higher than ours. However, according to the sale record we found through the Pinellas County Property Appraiser, the home ultimately sold for $30,000 less than our offer, before factoring in the additional costs we had offered to cover. That is a significant discrepancy--and it deserves a straight answer. We understand that price is not the only consideration and that terms can change before closing. But that does not resolve our concerns about the delayed presentation of our offer or the information we received. As buyers, we expected honest communication and a fair opportunity. Our experience left us questioning whether we received either. Veterans: Do not assume your VA-financed offer will receive the consideration it deserves with this team.
