I was coming back from a long evening walking tour and needed a snack on the way to the hotel. Lots of options here for snacks, I ended up choosing a small sandwich and a bottle of sparkling water. Extremely inexpensive and the fact that I speak no Swedish didn't matter. Watch the register and have your cash ready. And "sack" is easy enough to decline since they aren't free in most of Europe. The website lists Väddögård as a supplier so my hopes were high for some locally sourced milk - all they seem to stock is Arla. A quick scan of the shelves revealed a decent assortment, nearly everything priced 3-15+sek higher than other supermarkets. I noticed a few interesting niche items, but prefer to treat myself to these things at Casa Warg or Urbandeli as the atmosphere reminds me of my past life in the UK and US. For the more reasonable prices and extra 10 minute walk, I will continue to due my food shopping on Söder. Having become a regular (15 min before closing!) shopper at Munkbrohallen, I have upped the 2 star rating to 4. Although not the place to purchase staple items as the prices are higher than a standard ICA/Coop, the fruit and veg specials alone are worth coming here. It is obvious they select what they buy at market so can offer better prices on what is often higher-grade produce. The in-store cooked roast-beef is the closest I have come to what the local butcher in my childhood town produced - Lean, not overcooked or salted. The staff are friendly and relaxed, and the coffee good too.

Next to find yogurt. We found what appeared to be yogurt except that it was for cooking. We asked a staff worker who directed us to the correct section. All the staff were super nice. This is a cashless store. The register language can be changed to English. Bags for groceries costs extra so it is prudent to hand carry or have your own tote. The yogurt was great as were the smoothies! Yum! Good stop for a snack.

It is clean, fairly well layed out. Packaging can be confusing for instance whole bean coffee feels like ground coffee. I like their bakery, particularly the bread that has dried cranberries. And get the French butter. I love the ICA fruit Museli and will take several package home. I wish the US sold filmolk but kevir is almost as good on the Museli. . I did not find Felix mango curry sauce. That has a mayonnaise consistency and is delicious on sandwiches or to dip in. Had to go to Hemkoff for that. Some stores require that you scan your receipt to exit. This store does not. That is a plus when you are either just looking or didn't find what you want. You likely will find nearly anything you want here. And checkout their bakery doughnuts. What a neat way of displaying them.

The menu here is very simple and limited to about 4 main dishes to choose from, which vary from day to day. Raksmorgas (shrimp sandwich) - 215Kr ($22.50) - This consisted of some bread with greens and plenty of small cooked shrimp and some cocktail sauce. While it was fresh, I didn't find anything particular unique about this dish. Stekt Stromming (herring) (175Kr - $18.32) - This consisted of herring fillets lightly battered and fried. The fish had a mild taste and a comforting flavor profile. It was accompanied with some lingonberries and mashed potatoes. Fish soup (175Kr - $18.32) - Unlike the other fish soups I tried in Sweden, this one was more tomato based and similar to cioppino. It had fish, muscles, and some shrimp. Overall the seafood items here were good with the herring being the clear winner. It's unfortunate the menu is limited.

They did have a nice selection in terms of fresh produce, in many ways it felt like a farmers market and you could even make and ground your own almond butter through a machine but other than a small selection of this sort - there wasn't really much else which for a huge store was a little disappointing. I was disappointed with a lack of to-go food and stands here, making it different (and not in a good way) to similar department stores including Harrods, Marks and Spencer and Selfridges of London for example. I did find it hard to find a member of staff, compared to the rest of the store here. They didn't have a great gluten-free selection either in terms of products made gluten-free - it was non-existent. NK Saluhall doesn't compare to the main store sadly, but still, it deserves an extra star as it does offer some unique products in a nice way you can't get anywhere else in Stockholm.
