Let me start with, OMG! Mr Mathur is one of the BEST immigration/criminal lawyer out there!!.. I've taken forever to write this review waiting for the perfect time to do so and I believe with the new president and current circumstances this is the perfect time to tell you how great Mr Mathur is ... let me tell you my story, I will try to make it short. When I was in my early 20s I got in trouble with the law, can't go much into details but I can tell you that my poor decisions got me detained at the airport when I was trying to enter the country back from a vacation. If you are a green card holder and you break the law, your green card will be taken away and you will be detained at the airport, questioned for hours and possibly deported. I was lucky, I was paroled to reentered the country and waited for a court date to go in front of an immigration judge to decide if I was allowed to stay in this country.. several weeks later I got a letter with my court date, at this point I'm freaking out because I could get deported if I didn't have an attorney, so I search and search for many immigration attorney and went to many appointments, some didn't want to take my case and others would take my case but had me calling criminal lawyers to ask then questions about my criminal cases, I was so confused and desperate to find someone, and by the grace of GOD I found Mr Mathur!!.. when I met him he explained to me the reason why I was having trouble finding an attorney to represent me, i needed an immigration/criminal attorney and there is not many that can do both and in my case I needed both. Let me tell you, Mr Mathurs took my case and immediately got to work, he's so intelligent and knowledgeable in what he does, no other attorney I met during my search could compare to him. 7 years later, after a long fight, rude immigration judges, back and forth in court, he won my case and I was granted to stay in the USA!!!... and as of 2023 I'm an American Citizen :) !!! He helped me get my citizenship too... There are no words to describe how grateful I am with Mr Mathur and to thank him for everything he has done for me, I can't believe I was in process of deportation, paroled into this country and now im a US Citizen. Don't trust these people! They took a huge advantage of me when I called them in despair about my common law property division. All they wanted was my money, this law group took on my case and a down payment and during the case told me that my case doesn't exist and there is nothing they can do for me. Why did they take on my case to begin with after I explained my situation? Why did they make me pay them and than refused to give my money back after they told me that they cannot file my petition since there is no case. After I tried getting my down payment back which was 1000$, I ended up in a collection agency with a balance of 2400$! Please run away from them and be careful, this law firm shouldn't be trusted!!! Hiring this firm will result in lawsuits on you! They try to take on any case after the initial throughout consultation about the issue. They promise a lot and make people in despair believe them. I suggest that you find another lawyers, these people took on a case of property decision divorce without the actual marriage certificate! They lied about the Texas laws about it over the phone to get hired! At first they communicate at their best manner to get the funds, after they make fun of you (specifically Alberto likes to make fun of foreigners with an accent)! When you try to get your money back after the law firm has dropped you (cause there is no case), they sent you to the collections over night! Also they like to sent numerous lawsuits scripts to an address you've listed in a survey even though it's not your address at all, good thing they won't find me! This law firm is nothing but meat processing with no feelings of their clients. They expect their clients to do all the work by logging on to a profile and answer bunch of questions that does not apply for a divorce. wanted a large deposit. when I realize that the firm did nothing but take survey online and not able to tell a what your personal concerns are for this legal matter. I put a stop payment on my check. I did not realize they thought they deserve $2500 for the profile survey that I did online. This is nothing short of white collar robbery. I hired this firm to help my cousin who is detained by ICE for a revoked I-20 which lasted for a less than two months based on other cases Michael Zumberg took the case and he mentioned that the case is easy and he been dealing with such cases for 10 years and that the cost averages for these cases from $5k-$7500. I paid $5000 deposit to start with as a retainer after 24 hours of taking on the case I receive another bill of $5700 which does not make any sense the time from the first deposit to the second invoice is less than 12 hours how in the world you did work for $10,000 in a 10 hours time period! what is frustrating the most that I felt Michael, Alberto and everyone who worked there as my enemy, I can not email, make a phone call cause If I did the phone call or the email costs money and quite honestly most of the time Michael and Alberto would take long time to answer a simple question, changes the topic, talks about conspiracy theories from the immigration, government and FBI just because we are immigrants. I ended up unfortunately being charged $19k with outstanding balance of $6000 all of this money I paid to help my cousin and nothing helpful was done on their end. Worst law firm ever. It took them six months, SIX MONTHS, to process a simple green card application. I'm not talking about how long it takes to get the green card. I'm saying it took them SIX MONTHS just to fill out the application! Half the time, the attorney they assign you forgets about your case or even why you're there. You are just a number to them. They only talk to you through email and it takes weeks for them to respond. Heaven forbid you ask a question because it will take them weeks to get back to you and in the mean time you will be charged additional fees. They charge you constantly and will freeze your account the minute you don't pay (I always paid on time and they still froze my account by accident). Their billing dept is a nightmare. They charge you fees and they don't even know why. After I got tired of their games, I went to another attorney (recommended by the bar association) and I got more done in one consultation than I did in six months with these folks ( and for a LOT less money). Do yourself a favor, save yourself the frustration and walk (no run) away from this law office as fast as possible! P.S. You won't see many negative reviews on here about them because they try to intimidate and flat out silence people (threatening with a subpoena) or claim they "don't know" that person. Well they should know me and if they want to play that game, I have some info that I'm sure they don't want the State and County Bar to see (proof of unethical billing practices). So bring it on. Stay away! This place is very unorganized and does not show empathy at all towards their clients. I went in with the intentions of having a better understanding of law and walked away having to take my case elsewhere. I originally requested to work with one lawyer and was appointed another lawyer, because he "had more experience ". HUGE MISTAKE!! The receptionist is a hit or miss. My lawyer was late to our hearing, did things literally the day before, I felt that he was very unprofessional and took the defense of the other party. When he was my lawyer. Not to mention the accountant. He is too incompetent to know how to return calls when I left over a couple voicemails and emails requesting a call back. I even called one time to request to speak with Mr. Sanjay and left a message to have a call back. WHICH I NEVER received. Just horrible. I have to say when it comes down to fast service and attentiveness Mathur Law Offices is the only way to go. A couple of days ago, I had something that came up on my U4 (Financial Background Check performed by the FBI). When observing this it appears that they were needing information fast that didn't exist and was satisfied along time ago. All it took was one phone call and that matter was resolved by Sanjay Mathur himself. Let me say that not a lot of attorney's would peform this service, so fast, effecient and quickly. Most especially when they own their own law firm, normally other firms, from personal experience, would delegate your matter to someone else, only to have the matter messed up, only to leave you in a much worse situation than you were in before, costing you thousands. Mathur Law offices since I have used them takes a more direct, tailored and personal approach. The guy literately, not only found the original documents needed for the FBI check, but also drafted additional documents tailored to the situation. I got a $50 consultation with Anamika an overstayed visa immigration case and while I was explaining my concerns this lady kept on looking to the door, not paying attention and worst of all, told me it could be fixed easily and the fact is the option she gave me is not right because of not meeting eligibility requirements. I hired Mathur law firm for divorce issues. I got the estimate of $3500 during the initial consultation. I paid $2000 for retainer. They exhaust the retainer before serving the papers to my spouse. They charge me so many time to review the case. My cases was for uncontested divorce. So it was simple case. Billing is unethical and juniors are not experienced. read more

Run away. Very money minded and lousy firm. I am surprised at these 5 stars reviews and think they must be an inside job because I had a similar experience as Luis V, and it was from Sanjay Mathur himself. I heard Sanjay at funasia radio and thought of selecting his firm as my firm but was I wrong. When you deal with him in person than from radio , you will find how money minded he is. This was back in 2013 when I went for consultation for I485. I filled out the form and when I sat down with Sanjay, he asked me "What do you want to know?" (with tthis rude attitude). Instead of explaining me the process, he asked me "What else" after every short answer he gave it to me. It lasted hardly 3 minutes and I was frustrated. At the end he said; "OK the consultation today is $50 and we will contact you". They send me an email after 1.5 months saying they are ready to process my case with the charge that was 20% more than what I was quoted from another firm, where I went after having bad experience with Sanjay. My case was done in timely manner at the other firm and also was treated respectfully.
