They don't give you the general "set of skills" in whatever you're learning; they give you specialized and intensive training in the areas that you are the weakest in. During classes, you practice again and again on what you struggle on, and the tutors give really thorough and understandable explanations on your mistakes. They make learning easy and fun. Not only do you practice during sessions, you do homework (which is a huge part of the learning experience), and you take mock exams to see your personal improvement. I'm a former student and I needed help with the SAT critical reading section. I had Jacinth and Clara as my tutors. Quite frankly, they are the bomb. They're both super funny and relaxed. They make relevant examples to the material they're trying to explain and make it super easy to remember. The reading skills I learned not only helped me on the SAT, but also helped me greatly in AP English Literature. Jennifer, the director, is so nice. She takes cares of all of the students--she cares about you not only on your learning process, but also as a friend. Sometimes, when I'm in the area, I hop by C2 just to hang out. After taking her 3 NYS math Regents, she never took another math class and it showed. We were referred to Tunisia Solomon and after our first meeting, I knew we'd found the one! She was knowledgeable and understood just what we needed after that first meeting. She planned out a tutoring schedule that worked with my daughter's many extra curricular activities. For each session Tunisia was prompt, well prepared and professional. After just about 8 sessions we retook ACT exam and my daughters math score improved. She was accepted to (all the schools she applied to) Syracuse, Penn State, Binghamton, Temple, Towson and FIT! I wish I had signed up my kids sooner!…read more My kids love Mathnasium! Isn't that weird? They're spending the summer (2-3 times a week) at a math center and they LOVE going. While we travel we've done the virtual classes as well and they're just as successful. The system they've designed to motivate and reward kids - really works. The teachers are patient and supportive. My kids routinely say, "They explained it and in just five minutes I actually got it! In school we did this for weeks and it made no sense." For our family, Mathnasium is a significant investment and I absolutely wouldn't be able to continue with a program that my kids weren't enjoy and that wasn't showing results. So far they are motivated and thriving. Satish, the center director, is very present and easy to communicate with. Teachers are well trained and easy to work with. Class sign up process is great. All the work is done in center so there's no more homework for the parents to manage.

Jen and David worked hard with my son and had lots of patience with him. Their approach to teaching math makes kids feel comfortable and actually excited to go there. I can not say enough great things about them and all the other tutors there. I also want to thank Satish and Ken for always accommodating us. You have no idea how much we appreciate everything you have done for us. My son certainly was happy when passed the Geometry regents. He had 14 points more than on the previous regent which brought him nicely over what he needed to pass!
