We tried the virtual but it didn't work for our family. The In-Person has been unbelievably effective. My 4th Grade daughter and 6th grade son attend in person. The center staff in Manhattan Beach are so kind and care! Jessica/manager is amazing, compassionate and caring. She is so responsive and easy to communicate with. They know and have nailed how to get results and motivate children. I must admit, it is a financial commitment but worth it ..especially in a time when this is the only in person option. IT WORKS! We are incredibly happy with choosing Mathnasium for our daughter. My daughter is 13 and has always struggled with math. We have tried to assist her at home and even hired a private tutor, but things just weren't clicking. Mathnasium has setup a program specifically for her needs and after a couple of weeks I noticed a huge difference in her confidence. The staff is great and very attentive to each child's needs and personality. Mathnasium allows her to attend any day she would like, which comes in handy the day before a math quiz. My daughter was struggling with math in third grade, and as parents new to common core, we were struggling too! Fast forward three years later, and my daughter is now in accelerated math in the middle school. She loves going to mathnasium. The instructors make it fun and are so helpful. Amazing place filled with an amazing staff. My son (12) hated math, to the point that when it was math time something was always wrong. He was failing and falling further and further behind, the school just kept passing him without any concern that he was never going to be able to catch up. I went in spoke with Shamiran (who is absolutely lovely and easy to work with) I let her know the difficulties he was having and my concerns with school and she reassured me i had come to the right place. After 1 week of attending mathnasium my son has a completely new outlook on math, he is loving it! The confidence they have instilled in my son with his math skills have been a game changer for him and how he learns. Awesome staff, helps my kids love math now. They make math fun, which helps the learning process. I would definitely refer anyone who has a child struggling with math, or wants to extra reinforcement. Common core is good, but mathnasium helps with building a solid foundation. Can't imagine how much better my understanding and appreciation of math would have been if I would have been able to go to Mathnasium as a kid. It has been incredible for my husband and I to watch our sons develop both their understanding of math concepts and confidence explaining their thinking thanks to the staff and curriculum at Mathnasium MB. The instructors literally know every child's name, strengths, and areas for growth, and hold them accountable for using their time at Mathnasium effectively. It has been the perfect compliment to the MBUSD math curriculum for them and they now come home and talk about how their favorite subject is math and how they like being leaders in their classrooms. My kids have been going here since September 2016, and it has definitely helped them in school and in understanding what they are doing. Shamiran is awesome, and the entire staff is very good with the kids. My kids enjoy going there, and they actually ask to go there, unlike their time at Kumon. So glad this location opened as it is much closer for us than the South Redondo location, and I also find the staff to be friendlier. We plan on keeping our kids in as long as possible, so long as it keeps helping them. read more

My son was failing in Math so I went online and discovered Mathnasium and I thought I would give it a try since it said on their website that they also help their students with their homework....I was so happy to meet Anthony he explained how the program worked and so I decided to give it a try....my sons grade went from a F in the 2nd quarter to a C in the 3rd Q to an A in the final quarter.....I truly believe Mathnasium played a huge role in my sons achievement and my son really enjoyed the staff and he really enjoyed the program....if your student is struggling with math I highly recommend Mathnasium. read more

My children love Mathnasium. The convenient hours are helpful. The reward system is "great" according to my youngest child. My only wish is that they hire more tutors and limit the enrollment, because it feels very crowded in comparison to our experience earlier in the year. It can get quite noisy in the one room center. read more

My child is good at math, but needed some reinforcement in certain areas and I was also concerned about what would be lost over the summer. Attending for the program for the summer was perfect to go over some weaker points and to start the new year off confident in math. The staff there is great and the flexibility in when you can attend made it very convenient. We may do this again next summer. read more

Both of my sons (5th and 7th grade) started going to this Mathnasium 2 months ago. All the staff Shamiran, Gracie, Karme, Nick are the BEST! They are very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic of teaching the students not only in the Math skills. They helped the students to build up their confidence and really make Math fun. This is a great option to improve math skills, particularly in students in third grade on up when math gets more challenging. It's good for kids who may be struggling or for kids who excel and want to get ahead if the classroom math isn't challenging enough. My children usually work with Gracie, Shamiran and Kwame and they are all so kind and encouraging. My kids say they learn and understand a whole lot more from an hour at Mathnasium than from a week of math in school. read more
