She motivated my boy very well and developed an excellent rapport with him. The tutoring was tailored to suit his individual needs and was at a very suitable pace for him. Homework that was set added to the overall effectiveness. His practice test ACT scores steadily improved as time went on. I am sure that his final score was much better than it would have been without the tutoring. The college preparation went extremely well, from help in identifying suitable colleges to the actual application process. She gave outstanding advice in crafting a great set of college essays, while being scrupulous in ensuring it was his voice that shone through. There were a lot of essays and ensuring we kept on the timetable was a very important part of the job, as was the advice on structuring and editing. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and my boy had a terrific crop of excellent admissions results and was offered some great scholarships. Unfortunately, despite the tutoring, her math grades actually declined during the time she was enrolled. After discontinuing the service and pursuing alternative support, her grades improved significantly. While the tutor was pleasant, the overall program felt much more like basic homework assistance than the type of specialized or intensive intervention that would justify the rates being charged. There were also ongoing administrative issues throughout the experience, including inaccurate invoices that needed to be corrected multiple times and even repeated misspellings of our daughter's name over several months of communication. What was most frustrating was the contrast between the lack of responsiveness when we expressed concerns about the effectiveness of the tutoring versus the aggressive and persistent collection efforts over a relatively small outstanding balance. We understand every student is different and results can vary, but for the amount charged, we expected a much more professional, organized, and results-oriented experience.
