We came from another preschool that we didn't like much and was immediately convinced after talking to Ms. Lizzie. We ended up having two kids there, one in the toddler room (2yrs), and one in the big kid's room for about two years in total. Our kids grew into confident and happy kids in this period. I also liked the way this Montessori introduce different learning topics to the kids and let them learn based on their own interests and pace.

Her patience and kindness shine through in everything she does, creating a warm, safe environment where kids feel supported and valued. What stands out most is her incredible ability to connect with all learners, especially those who may need a little extra understanding or a different approach. She meets each child exactly where they are and helps them grow with confidence and encouragement. It's clear that she genuinely cares, and that makes all the difference. Any child would be lucky to have Mrs. Kat as their teacher. She is a gift to her students and to every family she works with.

We found The United School (needed grade 1 and higher) while our grandson attended Kindergarten at another small, yet excellent, inclusive pre-school/Kindergarten in North Scottsdale. The facilities at USFA are outstanding, the teachers and staff are professional, knowledgeable, and caring, and there are a variety of elective classes during the regular school day, in addition to after-school clubs that are varied and interesting. Speech and occupational services are available for an additional fee, but the therapists hold sessions at school and accept ESA funds. The school holds parent-teacher conferences on a regular basis, and students are tested regularly in specific subjects in order to ascertain concrete achievement, which facilitates the movement to a higher level of study. In addition, the school has full-time BCBA's on campus, who help facilitate the achievement testing. One of the highlights of each quarter is The Student Showcase, which highlights the wonderful work that students produce throughout each quarter. Our grandson has attended USFA for three years; he loves going to school. And we love seeing his smiling face at the end of each school day.

The teachers are overwhelmed and don't have enough support to handle high demand ASD kids especially ones that require outside the box thinking specialist and ones that require unique curriculum to help them grow. The school forced my daughter to do lower grade academics and then tried to say that I wasn't happy with her academic achievement! She received 100% in her Language Arts 3rd grade 4th quarter and they still insisted that she wasn't ready for 4th grade due to behaviors. Since the start of the school year, my daughter struggled with the high demand that was being placed on her to fit into their programs and she was purposely placed in lower academic curriculum due to her behavior and I tried to constantly advocate that the behaviors were due to boredom but no one would listen to me. I was told that until my daughter started following directions and behaviors improve, her academic would stay the same. I just recently had my daughter's IQ tested and it came back top 5%. She tested into 5th grade reading and 7th grade spelling; her math was behind because the school refused to teach her grade level math telling me initially that she was behind and then they said oh we are too ahead in the curriculum and we can't have her join the 3rd grade class then they wanted me to get her caught up during the summer if she wanted to be in 4th grade. The owner (Victoria) just doesn't really care about your children. Your child is just $$$$ to her. She just wants the money and wouldn't care if your child succeeded or not. They have also had such a huge turn over with their staff and I am not surprised at all. The only reason I tried this place was cause of the so called "great reviews". I usually don't like to place reviews, but I just had to share since so many people recommend this school! I would be very careful with placing my child here.

The holistic nature of my daughter s education is by far one of my favorite qualities of this program. She has not only learned the necessary curriculum per state standards, but she has also been taught skills that will help her both in the classroom and out. The enthusiasm and knowledge of the staff is another quality that makes this program so special, plus the way the teachers make use of different materials, technologies and even the outdoors as teaching platforms. Throughout the years I have seen my daughter grow and mature, but never as fast or as markedly as she has during her years in middle school. While she has certainly been allowed to be her fun-loving self (and that s very important to me), she has learned to be poised when speaking before a room full of strangers, she has learned organizational skills that will take her through high school and beyond, and she has learned to be responsible for her self and her work every step of the way. Thank you, Mission Montessori, for helping me raise a young woman who will undoubtedly make this world a better place.
